@@scottwilliamson1951 If you're gentle on your synchros, then by the time you get it into the next gear, the rpm falls below whats needed for that gear, so when you release the clutch, the engine gets up to the needed rpm by taking away energy from the drivetrain and if you don't release the clutch slowly enough, the truck will jerk a bit. Getting the revs up by blipping the throttle between changing whole gears eliminates that jerk completely and it also minimizes the wear on the clutch. In simple words, you never want your rpms fall below whats needed for the next gear.
