This was very helpful to me...although my backpacking trip will be to the Netherlands, not South America. I think I may add a sling bag to my gear.

@@JanicasJourneys The only thing I'm not prepared for is if it's hot. I'm coming in January so hopefully there won't be a string of summer-like days.
If so, I may need to do some local shopping. Darn. haha!

Fanny pack over here ,but Brits call it bumbag over there in Britain. I always find it funny Brit's stuff ( expression wise ).

I checked it in! I think the limit for carry on is a 45L backpack

Suitcase style backpacks are more useful I believe !! Also you can pack more w 'em than conventional, traditional style ones ! Which is what I've been looking into for my future travels w my mom as she's developed mobility issues. 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🎒👜👝💞
