    We have a Ditch Witch SK850 (same as SK1050 now) at our landscaping firm and it is absolutely amazing. Use it almost daily, has 1400 hrs. on it now, and it has made us so much money. It has saved my back in so many situations and I’ve gotten really good at operating it. I personally love the two stick drive controls, but it’s just what I’m used to. The drive and hydraulic controls are silky smooth, and the 37 hp Yanmar doesn’t skip a beat even in high load situations with the trencher, earth auger, and Harley rake. The only downside I would say to our machine is the digital throttle control and screen. I’d rather just have a mechanical lever throttle like they do on the 25hp machines, but I guess due to the emissions equipment on the 37hp Yanmar they lump the throttle in with central control module. So far we’ve replaced this module once at a hefty $1500 cost. But other than that, I absolutely could not my job nearly as well or efficiently without this machine.
    When we were shopping for this machine we compared to a bobcat MT and there was absolutely no comparison. The bobcat was herky jerky on the controls and not nearly as much power. Now, I understand bobcat has released new models of MT’s since 2016 when we made our decision, but after renting a few Bobcat big skid steers in the last few years I think their quality has really went down hill at least from a fit and finish perspective.

    As a Vermeer owner the CTX100 is the one to go with. By far it's leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. 40hp turbocharged diesel and lift arms go straight up and down which helps with loading and unloading trailers from the side instead of the s925s curved lift arm movement

    This was an ok video, when you were editing you skipped out in the Vermeer machine, but it's understandable. Personally the Kubota SCL1000 is the far more superior machine, which wasn't even shown.That is my personal opinion. Most all the machines run a Kubota engine, so why not just run the Kubota machine. Thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video.

    • @kevinrumsey3756
      @kevinrumsey3756 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, but as nice as that Kubota may be, you only have one size option so far. I understand they need to hit that 25hp mark to stay under emissions, but on our Ditch Witch SK850 (now enumerated SK1050) with the 37hp Yanmar, I can’t imagine having a whole 12 less horsepower! The particulate filter has ran on me only a handful of times in 1400 hrs of use. The extra power comes in handy for Harley rake, trenching, earth auger that we use. I would like to try the Kubota someday though.

      Branden was asking about the Ditch Witch SK1550, and you then suggested a much smaller machine in the Kubota SCL1000. I pointed out that it was much smaller than what he's looking at, and all you have to say is the Kubota is based on the larger SVL's and Ditch with is "partnered" with Kubota? OK?
      The SCL 1000 is more comparable with the Ditch Witch Model in this video, the SK800. Both are around 25 HP and have similar specs. The hydraulic pump sounds like it's being overworked and is? Yup, loud. With the 4 I have rented, I could either drive into the pile, lift or turn, but I couldn't do more than one or two at a time. Super frustrating when trying to move 300 tons of gravel and rock around a house. Finally the other rental company got the SK850 back So i could rent it and I was able to get the job done on schedule.
