At first I was completely amazed when the journalist asked "Did you think "I need to pack this", Elon answered "Never", and the journalist asked " Why not" and Elon said "I don't ever give up (...)", i mean the way he said that so calm but at the same time firm and unbreakable let me believe that he really never ever thought to give up, not for a second neither in the toughest moment.
As many other comments highlighted, I think the most touching part of the interview is about his Heroes not supporting him. I mean he has had the people that inspired him since he was a child going against his idea, seemingly not even visiting his company... it's like a child that hears now from Messi and CR7 that he won't never become a football champion... And he did't give up neither beacause of that... To me this is self-confidence, brave, dreamer and inspirational of the next level.
PS. Last but not least, I think the journalist deserves lots of compliments for this incredible interview and the questions he asked let people know not only the achievements, but most important the mindset of the man behind SpaceX and Tesla. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TAHNK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
Came to revisit this gem of history on this historical week of 2020
All these programs with Elon Musk's history are... well... Modern History!!!... Stuff that will be in the text books of the future! :)
Elon IS the future!
This is absolutely TRUE, Elon will go down in history as a modern-day DaVinci, a man who has single-handedly changed the course of human history!! The sad thing is that his many detractors and the hoards of Elon-haters, are missing the fact that history is being made right under their noses and they're too blind to see it, smh.
@@russell2449 Indeed... and, Elon-haters are just people realizing their jobs are obsolete, just give them time ;)
Comment and sub-comments: Well said 💯👍
It’s so cool that SpaceX actually did what they said they would do!
2012 - worth nearly 2 billion
2024 - worth 290billion dollars 🤯
Who’s here after the recent launch to the ISP?
International Space Patient?
ISS
This guy is going to change the world like Edison did. Once in a lifetime mind, spirit, work ethic and kahunas.
Nicola Tesla not Edison
@@crispinfaryangan4152 I’m happy knowing that the name of the car ‘Tesla’ is inspired from Sir Nikola Tesla
Makes you wonder what his heroes think of him today.
Michael Wise Well Armstrong and Cernan are dead lol
Most likely a 🍾👨🏼🚀👍🏽
An Apology & a Congratulations is order
There doubts is what gave him and his team the fire to make this possible
exactly

Who come to watcg this interview in 2022, now time says who was right, who is right and who will be right?
11:25
Interviewer: “When critics say you can’t do this, your answer to them is..?”
Elon: “We’ve done it.”
His heros may have doubted him, but he's already a hero to the next generation
nice reminder
Who's here after the launch? I remember watching this interview and Elon is such an inspiration. Sometime the little kid with heart can win over the sumo wrestlers
Elon Musk is an inspiration. Seeing him tear up like that means this is more than money to him. It's a passion. To be not believed in especially by those you admire is a hard pill to swallow. I had no doubt he'd do it. Look at what he did with Tesla. Elon is proof of the old adage: "Never give up". It's not over until you say so!
8:20
"Never, i dont ever give up"
**gansta paradise music plays**
Thanks Obama - you enabled a genius
Really how?
@@mashable8759 If I understand correctly, the Obama administration was what set commercial resupply services (CRS) and commercial crew program into motion!
and created a monster
Opening space up to the private sector is one of the few smart things the government has done in a long time.
Obama government for that
Elon Musk is out of this world
“When something is important enough you do it even if the odds are not in your favour” my life’s motto because of Elon.
8:19 the interviewer looks like a proud dad
I seriously admire how Elon himself started up his own space company and it just amazes me of how ambitious he is... I legit wanted to cry when he said that his heroes were the ones who were against him :_(
12:07 -- He is like a kid. Felt bad for him. He will prove them wrong.
He's not like a kid. He's just authentic, like a kid.
American AF what?
Paul Smith as in he’s trying to be nice and not shoot back even though he is extremely hurt that his hero’s are doubting him, he wants to make them proud also
and He did it!! and now he is not only become a hero too, he becomes a legend!!
To see Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley blast off into orbit today, onboard the SpaceX vehicle, was simply amazing
8:20 that iconic line ❣️
12:06 When your heroes turn their backs on you, you become the hero that they couldn't be.
Love him.
It has happened. Who’s here in 2020?
12:23 such a emotional situation 😫
His ambition made the reporter cry too. Hats off to both of them
And you did it this past week.
After watching them successfully sending astronauts to ISS, I can’t imagine the joy they are feeling right now. The falcon works. The dragon works. The two astronauts are now in ISS. What a brilliant achievement.
At 12:54 you could see his chin quiver. I can’t wait for Elon to prove them wrong.
Aaron Patton already has!!
Today, he proved them WRONG!
Who’s watching when space x just launched their new rocket.
Even the interviewer is skeptical everyone is eating there words now
I wonder what the haters are gonna say when his spaceship lands on Mars 😂😂
Its actually quite reassuring to see their engineers look like the cast of big bang theory.
Lost all respect for the astronauts who testified against commercial spaceflight...
I would not go that far. I can see their point of view. Most private companies are concerned with profits and so their concern is that private companies will cut corners (maybe in the safety areas) in order to hold on to more of their earnings. Their intentions are justified and they only want the next astronauts to be as safe as possible.
@@Rudizel +1, they don't know what they don't know..
EXACTLY. For all of us, don't easily lost respect just because somebody or a group of people not agreeing with some point of view. Instead, see why they disagree. If you want to prove them wrong, do what you want to do anyway.
This was 2012 SpaceX, not the proven GOAT that is Elon. Keep in mind, these astronauts biggest concern is safety. Also i think their testimony was more of an Old white man shot against at Obama... (its very common..)
I have even more respect for them now.
Who’s here after space x demo crew docked with the iss?
Wow, this video really is a window into the past. So far it's aged very well.
Computer are very expensive
Everyone : save money to afford one
Elon Musk : Let's build my own
I rewatch this interview at least once a year, it gets better every time aging like fine wine
