At some point in every tank's life, they realize that the raid has a surprising amount of tolerance of their incompetence because they'd rather not wait on another tank. At that point, they become Nogrod.

For those also wondering: Kil'jaeden who is still being summoned into Azeroth through the Sunwell itself by his new lieutenant, Kael'thas Sunstrider. Anveena, the embodiment of the Sunwell's energies, is held in an arcane barrier, her powers being drained to feed the portal, but later in the encounter she is sacrificed to weaken the Deceiver, who can then successfully be banished back into the Nether.
It can be noted that, at the end of the fight, Kil'jaeden does not die. Instead the magics of the Sunwell simply react against him, and he is pulled back through it and into the Twisting Nether.

Asmon had to suffer but in return he created top tier content. sure sunwell is "easy" when you have run it alot and got knowledge on all small things, but if you let your guard down you can wipe. thats what i in classic a bit.
Its actually amazing how noticeably better they would do each time one bad player left or was replaced.

The irony is that it wasnt Nogrod's fault the second wipe. The priest facepulled and died due that. even recount displayed that.
Back in the day, no Guild on earth would let you in a Sunwell raid without full gems/enchants etc. You can so tell you are a face roller used to being carried.
Randomly geared and specced hunter in Sunwell. We raided our way to that. Barefoot. Uphill. In both directions. And that guy simply turns up for the raid and clears a lot of it. With an unspent talent point.
to be fair this was after nerf and with wrath talents, so way easier than "real" tbc sunwell would have been

I knew the second he said, "it's all downhill from here", thinking brutalis was the hardest boss in there, that it was gonna be a an uphill fight. Brutalis is only hard because he hits hard. You got a raid filled with people who don't know the mechanics, that makes every other boss way harder than brutalis. This is top notch content.
I’ll give it to Asmon. He knows how to make wow content. Pick average players at best to run through the end game of the current expansion with limited knowledge and tactics. You know it’s gunna have some epic moments 😂
Regarding the first boss and the portals : as someone mentioned to Asmon, the CD on the portal is 0.5s ... but what got missed was, that this is the CD on the portal FOR EVERYONE, not on each single player (for his own). That means, if all the players who wanna go through are clicking, you gonna need luck to be the first one down there.
Long story short: the rule is, TANK FIRST , then 1 heal, and THEN everybody else can click the sh*t out of the portal to go.
...He was taunting too early on the Portal Boss, IMO.
...You don't need to Taunt immediately there, IMO.
...Should wait for a couple Healers to go down first, IMO.

Watching videos like this, by the way, is why I never tried to get back into WoW after taking a couple years off. I was mediocre/trash to begin with - after a break, the LAST thing I wanted was to group up and have someone like Asmon eat me alive (deservedly) lol

I was kind of okay, but halve my items were arena gear without mana regen. Big aoe heals as for almost halve a boss fight.

Always the same song and dance in WoW. Some nostalgia with the wipe rage, guildies with big attitudes and small IQs, and of course, the classic, "this is the pull" feeling. And I don't have to deal with any of it personally.
Edit: "And why did you have aggro?" is a phrase I recall hearing a lot. "The tanks failed to hold it." And as a rogue, I stand by 'blame the tanks'.
I mostly played tank (and heal). I learned tanking - raid tanking, not shuffling through a dungeon - by having an insane, batshit crazy, dps-hammering friend duo in my raid group. A mage and a rogue. They taught me that the pull timer is the time that the tank has to get in front of the pyro and that popping a dps pre-pot as a tank is a must. They really pushed me to tickle every last bit of performance out of my pally.

I'm actually stunned that such a group was allowed to raid such a challenging operation like this. What I mean is, the gear was so disjointed, random, and not matching the class being played that it's no wonder they struggled..a lot

I can assure you, you've never seen the worst raid group in wow history. I found it near reset one week when I got to doing it late. I've never regretted trying to lead a raid more. Worst one by a mile.

I dont know much wow and i watched this whole trip äh raid. I laughed my ass off, felt sorry for zolaf and at the same time appreciated the new guild rank „zolaf“ a lot. The time omg and lol where last one standing, defeating the Boss… just hilarious. I dont know much asmongold but after watching this i think zack is a really good guy. Thank you for this experience.
