@BenjaminPalin great choices. I love them all. The fact that Enola/Alone and No Surface are just album tracks says it all. Better than most bands singles
@@KevinKaffy It was a close call, it nearly made it. I love Tolerate but I think I’ve maybe heard it too much. If I rated Manics songs based on the first time I heard them then Tolerate would definitely be top 3.
@ For sure it’s been overplayed in the uk I guess definitely for many months after it’s release and the subsequent album release. So hard to do a top 5 for this band. I love all the tunes you picked and I would recommend everyone to check out the This is yesterday acoustic version which is really fantastic also 👍. Kevin Carter is a personal favorite of mine also
@ I love Kevin Carter too. So difficult narrowing it down to 5, on another day I could probably choose a totally different 5, but in the end I went with the ones that I go back to more than any others
If the top 5 aren't ALL from The Holy Bible you are doing it wrong! In no order... Faster Archives Of Pain Of Walking Abortion Yes PCP Nice to see you picked This Is Yesterday though. I've always been surprised that they never really play that or acknowledge it.
@@anundyingfireThere’s no doubt that The Holy Bible is an absolute masterpiece, but there’s too many amazing tracks on other albums to go exclusively with HB songs, only my opinion of course! It’s true, This Is Yesterday is massively underrated. I agree I’ve never really heard the band talking about it either. Somehow gets overlooked.
Faster is definitely my favourite manics song, great video!
@itsorenji thanks! 😊
Rewind the film is a modern classic in I my top 5.
@@francoisdewit8073 it absolutely is a beautiful song
Motorcycle Emptiness was 100% always going to be on the list
Good video, well done.
For me their best track is Motorcycle Emptiness, fantastic 😊
@@ZXFrankie It is an amazing song. Deserves wider recognition than it gets.
@@clearhorizon6817 Indded, it was my introduction to the Manics 🙂
@ not a bad place to start!
Great band and video but "libraries gave us power" came from the library in pillgwenlly, Newport, where Nicky Wire's wife worked 😊
@@midknighthour24 great knowledge! I knew it was Newport but not the specifics. I love the story and inspiration behind that line. Thanks 😊
