i remember when this album came out... Man, it was so intense !! a huge blast in the metal community... Still got it and listen to it on this day, a masterpiece !
I love Machine Head's whole discography, they're far and away my favourite band, so it's hard to pick out just a few songs. Gonna try and suggest some off each album: Burn My Eyes is a great album but I don't think there's enough variation in the music to recommend much once you've heard Davidian. Still, A Thousand Lies and The Rage to Overcome are probably top of the list. The More Things Change - Take My Scars, Down To None, Violate... that probably gives you the best variety from this album The Burning Red is controversial, as it saw a shift to Nu Metal. I'd still recommend The Blood The Sweat The Tears, Exhale The Vile and The Burning Red if you want a more downbeat song I guess? Supercharger... well, I guess I lied, I don't love it all. Hard to recommend anything from this album. Through The Ashes of Empries is a return to form. Imperium, Days Turn Blue To Gray and Seasons With are my recommendations here The Blackening. I don't want to do this album the disservice of picking any songs out, the whole damn thing is a masterpiece. Like, seriously. Slanderous is probably the weakest of the 8 songs, but it's still like a 9/10. Pick whatever. Pick ALL OF IT! Locust... hmm. I Am Hell (but maybe skip most of the first minute, you'll understand), Locust and Who We Are Bloodstone & Diamonds is an easy 3 for me; Now We Die, In Comes The Flood and Game Over Catharsis elicits very mixed opinions on the whole, but I really like it personally. I'd narrow suggestions down to Catharsis, Beyond The Pale and maybe Kaleidoscope? Plus Bastards, if you want something a bit.... different. Sorry if that's too much! And I'm sure there'll be people who disagree with me
Thanks man! Not too much at all, I feel like I can keep doing these as long as they keep being fun, so the more songs I have to go through the better! Thanks for coming along for the ride!
I'd say that they are a more "album oriented" band, meaning that even their best songs are better in the context of the whole record. So I think anyone interested should just listen to the albums back to back from the first one to the one that will come out this year (hopefully sooner than later). it's a fun listen, as they always experiment and try new things while keeping the core sound intact.
yes it was mindblowing to me , this video released on headbangers ball before the album was out and I reserved a copy at the store the next day ofcourse
Yeah, machine head is one of my all time favorites. Couple other bands off the top of my head other metal heads sometimes don't know. The band Snot was awesome (they came up with like system of a down out west). Living sacrifice is a killer Christian kind of death metal band (the infinite order album is my personal favorite). And one that I'd assume you know, but just in case you don't, Type O Negative.
This is the legendary piece of the good old Machine Head. Have to ammit one of my favourite song of MH. But there is still one newer song that is stolen the first position and it is deffenetly Locust. Absolutly killer like this one!
Losers knew it basic on guitar, but it was always intense playing it in any way with others. Had to be in tune together or just born talented. All timing and practice this song!😂😢🤘
One of the best Metal Album of the 90's
One of the great metal songs of the 1990’s. East Bay Metal! 🤘🤘

Deffinitely shook things up. And yeah, it's a mainstay.
Rob Flynn and Phil Demmel were guitarists in Vio-Lence.... something to keep in mind for your thrash reactions
Very interesting, I’ll look into Vio-lence soon! Thanks for watching!
So much good MachineHead out there. I have been a huge fan since day one. Seen em multiple times. Great band!
For a cool effect keep clicking on 3:13 !

I hope you've also watched the 2019 25th anniversary live in studio version of this as well. Machinehead throws down. 💯
I can't believe you never heard Machine Head
The time hath cometh!
@@BrandonBames Imperium off Through the Ashes of Empires is a good one. The Burning Red is pretty much a nu metal album lol
none but my own is a really good song from the same album!
If you haven't heard them already you need to check out Sepultura "Arise" and Kreator "Love us or hate us"
Just uploaded Dead Embryonic Cells!
i agree with sepultura, but i go with ratamahatta ;-)
Logan Mader is the man
You should definitely react to "Clenching the fists of dissent" by them. In my opinion their best song!
Thanks! It’s going on the list right now!

Keep pounding these out dude. From what I see you’re in good hands.
Thanks man! Yeah it seems like there are some passionate MF’ers out there that are guiding me in the right direction!
Indeed. Speaking of which, please add Raging Waters by Testament to your list if you’re not familiar.

Reccomend more Machine Head? Ehhh... yes.
Ten Ton Hammer is another great song of theirs.
I got a REAL obscure one for you.... Anacrusis... they had 2 amazing albums... and that was it.... try "sound the alarm"... thank me later...
Losers knew it basic on guitar, but it was always intense playing it in any way with others. Had to be in tune together or just born talented. All timing and practice this song!😂😢🤘
Dude, try the album versions of Halo and Locust to give you a view of the evolution of Machine Head.
Thanks! Looking forward to diving deeper into Machine Head!
Check out death spiritual healing
If you listen to MH, do the first album and ignore the rest.
Game over by machine head
Flotsam and Jetsam- "Smoked Out"
Soulfy- "Eye for an Eye"...and/or
"Roots, Bloody Roots"
modern metal? lol
yeah, this is the SONG... they have a mediocre career but this song... damn... this changed shit and is ripped off by so many bands (the harmonics)
Check out 'Imperium" it is a better song than this one which is a great song.
Awesome, thanks for the heads up!
