    The entire ‘Burn My Eyes’ album which this is from is absolute fire! MH have had a varied array of genres over the years but this album, the next one ‘The More things Change...’ and one of their more modern and arguably their masterpiece ‘The Blackening’ are all brilliant!
    Davidian is definitely one of their most “popular” songs. Imperium, Old, Death Church, Ten Tonne Hammer, Halo, Aesthetics of Hate, Beautiful Mourning and Block are great places to start.

    Machine Head really changed the game with this album. It was like a natural progression from 80s Thrash to an even more aggressive sound and blew everyone away at the time. This album and The Blackening from 2007 are their top two albums IMO and top metal albums of the year.

  • @danwheeler6312
    @danwheeler6312 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    The album came out in '94, and yeah the song is about David Koresch and his cult at Waco. These guys have been around a long time, they're from Oakland so other coast, sorry. But they toured a lot with Biohazard, Pantera, etc. They were one of the big metal bands of the 90s. Not as big as Pantera or Metallica, but they were up there. I saw them at Ozzfest in '97 in Denver. They've got elements of a lot of the bands you guys talked about, but I think their drums and some recognizable sounds they use a lot with the guitars set them apart. Once you here a few of their songs you can definitely recognize them. Thanks so much for doing the video I thought you guys would like them. Most all of their stuff is raw, emotional and energetic as hell. The song Imperium is great. Really anything off their first two albums Burn My Eyes or The More Things Change are awesome. They have so much stuff over the years its hard to pick them out off the top of my head. They also do a really cool cover of Message In A Bottle I liked a lot.

    Maybe the reason the video looks so familiar, is because they requested to the director of the video (I can't remember her name right now), take inspiration from their favorite Hip-Hop videos at the time, and... if you were into the Rap Movement in the early/mid 90's you can check those influences (Lyrically and visually: Robb, the singer, with the cornrows, the street style, walking on the streets with a Pitbull like a gang, etc.) .

  • @bigmatt2896
    @bigmatt2896 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    deffo mid 90's, this song was a game changer back then infact the whole album was. your right in saying the video is like biohazard as they were good friends back in the day, they actually did a tour together slayer/biohazard & machine head.

    Machine Head and Biohazard were good buddies. And they are Bay Area Oakland guys, brought up on rap and thrash. Pretty much every song on the first album is killer. If you want total heaviosity then Ten Ton Hammer does what it says on the tin. For pure anger then you want Aesthetics of Hate. And Halo is purely epic
