Machine Head really changed the game with this album. It was like a natural progression from 80s Thrash to an even more aggressive sound and blew everyone away at the time. This album and The Blackening from 2007 are their top two albums IMO and top metal albums of the year.
The album came out in '94, and yeah the song is about David Koresch and his cult at Waco. These guys have been around a long time, they're from Oakland so other coast, sorry. But they toured a lot with Biohazard, Pantera, etc. They were one of the big metal bands of the 90s. Not as big as Pantera or Metallica, but they were up there. I saw them at Ozzfest in '97 in Denver. They've got elements of a lot of the bands you guys talked about, but I think their drums and some recognizable sounds they use a lot with the guitars set them apart. Once you here a few of their songs you can definitely recognize them. Thanks so much for doing the video I thought you guys would like them. Most all of their stuff is raw, emotional and energetic as hell. The song Imperium is great. Really anything off their first two albums Burn My Eyes or The More Things Change are awesome. They have so much stuff over the years its hard to pick them out off the top of my head. They also do a really cool cover of Message In A Bottle I liked a lot.
