I installed a JBL BassPro SL2 powered subwoofer on my 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf (non Fender audio) by tapping the front speaker outputs and connecting them directly to the sub’s high level input. I noticed the head unit output now clips at a much lower volume and it gets unusually hot. Yes, but I would connect both amps. The 4 channel will make the factory's sound better, just set the xover a little higher. You also only want to pull your car apart once if you can.
question I have 2015 challenger pretty sure it's basic 6 speaker set up cause sounds terrible so do I "have to use" a 6 channel converter can't I just find which speakers run full range and use a 2 channel converter?
Usually the fronts have the full range, unless you have 6x9's in the back. You can certainly do this, however you will lose your ability to fade the sound front to back. Also, you will need a T-harness to get the sound from your amp to all the speakers, or run new speaker wires. I'm not sure if the Dodge's have this, but some radios check ohm loads. If there is no speaker/ohm load connected directly to the speaker wire, the radio will not play sound through those wires. It does this to protect the radio from a short.

JERSON BATISTA any amp should handle 4.15v input, adjust sensitivity on amp if it's an option. If it isn't u just need to adjust gain and or bass/sublvl on headunit... 4.15v is the output voltage into your amp, input voltage tells ur amp how many times to multiply the power comming in from your battery.. the higher input voltage the less the amp multiplies so if the amp u tried isn't tuned for that voltage it'll b ovr powered or under

It differently be two different stories if using the DD1 on the rca output when he should be checking the speaker output. I'm getting low voltage from my lcq-1 on my 2014 Honda Odyssey factory system. it's hooked up after the factory amp should I connect before the factory amp?
no, it will not work before the amp. That is a low level output. have you checked to see if the factory radio puts out a variable voltage output. If it does all you have to do is add RCAs. th-cam.com/video/6Zw04MVbNsM/w-d-xo.html
Five Star Car Stereo I have not checked to see if they are variable but I have the lcq-1 cranked all the way up and no maximized light and my gains on my amp are more then half way for decent out put. I'm running lcq-1 to rockfordfosgate t1000-4ad to a set of JBL 660gti and it just not putting out what I feel it should doors are enclosed and dynamat
Five Star Car Stereo yeah factory sub and factory center channel. I had it wired into the front speakers outputs and it wasn't a full range signal more like a telephone sound output and then I moved it to the rear speakers which gave it more full range.
Before you do anything, turn down the bass and keep everything on the head unit at "Flat" So no EQ. Make sure it's all in the mididle. Then play a regular song, make sure the sub is not connected at this time. Keep turning up your stereo until you hear the quality start to degrade. Or, just turn the volume of the radio to around 65-70% of it's max. Keep it there, never go above that number. Now use the Lc2 and adjust the gain until the clipping goes away , unti lthe maximum goes away. most radios that are stock distort, and send clipping signals after about 65-70% volume. Just the way it is.
No, just cleaner. So if you need to amplify a 1volt sinewave into a 40volt sinewave, you need to amplify it 40x. The more you amplify a signal, the more THD is produced which is distortion. Now, turn a 4volt sinewave into a 40volt sinewave and you only got to multiply it 10x. Which means you crank the gain knob down and get the same output. Which is cleaner output.
I just installed the LC2i Pro in my SUV today. It sounds amazing. So glad I spent the extra money. Well worth it.

Finding out when the stock deck distorted, what exactly did you have the dd1 plugged into?
I see one piece of the RCA in the lc2 to the dd1, but where or what is the other blue part of that rca on the dd1 connected into?
It differently be two different stories if using the DD1 on the rca output when he should be checking the speaker output. Rca output be clean til about 90% volume compared to 60% volume of the radio amp output. It's just misleading to me. And it seems he only answers certain questions and really gives no answers
I have 2 12” comp r kickers running off a kicker cxa1200.1. My line out is scosche loc90. My amp continues to go into protection mode once I crank the volume to high. I brought down the gain but even so continues to go into protection mode. To avoid it i have to turn down the gain almost where theres no bass. I also turned down the gain on the line out itself and turned the gain up on the amp which did give me more bass but its still going into protect mode. Do you recommend anything else to be done.. i have my speakers wired in parallel at a final impediance of 2 ohms at the amp. What can I do to get my amp to really pump? What about my x over freq? Where should that be set at? Please help.
Glenn Ortega from the radio don’t add bass to the Factory Eq then again you might have something else wrong
thanks man, subbed
Great video very helpful
Great video
Brian Miles thanks for watching and commenting, we really enjoy it.
I cant get the lc2i to power up on my 2008 mercedes ml? Can anyone give me some insight?
Question guys, any documentation on the max amp for a 2012 Prius? 100x4 ok? 40 amp at distro?
No, we test each time we do it. We should probably keep track of that information but we don't sorry.
Please help me!
I have a 2009 accord lx-p with the stock stereo cd/radio no Bluetooth. I had my JL 500/1 and JL 10" w6 installed and when music is playing the sub will sometimes THUMP OR WHOMP (not music thump though) and sometimes hits hard maybe even shutting amp off. I've talked to few shops
1) said its the noise cancellation mics (but I don't think my 09 accord has any
2) said its the the stereo not giving a clean signal to amp need after market stereo
3) said just need a better converter better then the cheapie one I have
I don't know who is right?
Help me
Ok I problem, first look on the headliner back by the rear window above were your head would be. Is there anything there?
+Five Star Car Stereo no nothing there. I've seen video on a tiny plastic square where it would be but mine doesn't have it.
+Five Star Car Stereo I've also seen that they are behind the back seat driver side head rest where a tiny little whole is
+SBFlashlightGuy give me a call tomorrow if you can just ask for Dean when Paul answer. Tell me you are the Honda guy.
just a question can u use theses with the normal pre outs just always wondered
if you mean the RCAs out of the back of the radio, there would be no need.
yea I just asking if it's possible just a question :)
The LC2i does not have RCA inputs.
I'm running lcq-1 to rockfordfosgate t1000-4ad to a set of JBL 660gti and it just not putting out what I feel it should doors are enclosed and dynamat
man if you had a shop out here I would be there tomorrow to have you troubleshoot this. I'm going nuts trying to get it to what it should be.
+MrRunsideways did it have the factory sub?
Five Star Car Stereo yeah factory sub and factory center channel. I had it wired into the front speakers outputs and it wasn't a full range signal more like a telephone sound output and then I moved it to the rear speakers which gave it more full range.
i installed a LC and my driver side front door is quiet now any ideas
Nick Neitz what type of car?
Can you connect the loc post amp?
No. Defeats the purpose
What do you recommend for a 2003 chevy suburban with the bose stock system?
eric ramos what are you planning on adding?
A kicker dx 250.1 and 2 Alpine bass line 10s
I ordered a pac sni-35 will that work?
As far as i know the rear doesn't have the stock subwoofer but it has the rest of the bose components
Five Star Car Stereo will the sni-35 work?
What do you guys think of the stinger sgn 141 LOC?
Miguel Zavala it is the older version of the PAC-Audio loc( same Company) .
Why not just run the speaker out directly in to your amp via rcas, and turn the gain down on the amp???
I have an lc2 and I’m still clipping ! Please help
Just the way it is.
what generic loc is that?
He gives you a clue at the end of the video. It's Egyptian, you know the triangle things.
Huh, I thought "POS" stood for something else. Haha
Then it means that all my audio equipment can sound more powerful with an expensive hi-low than with a cheap hi-low?
No, just cleaner. So if you need to amplify a 1volt sinewave into a 40volt sinewave, you need to amplify it 40x. The more you amplify a signal, the more THD is produced which is distortion. Now, turn a 4volt sinewave into a 40volt sinewave and you only got to multiply it 10x. Which means you crank the gain knob down and get the same output. Which is cleaner output.
@@GhilleGhille
ok thank you very much you are a teacher
he's playing elevator music
LC2I is junk, it's limited to 32hz. the cheap ones will give you a full range of hz output if you are looking for low bass
If my amp already has a Remote and power wired up do I need to install the Power and remote cable from the PAC ?
Is the hilevel inputs built into the amp better?
