I needed this big time. Last Session I watched vids like this and my 8 ball game zoomed. I stopped watching training vids and I lost my momentum! Have not won one 8 ball all this Session so back to FX for tech reminders. I wish I could retain ALL the information I learn but I have discovered that watching vids is just as important as time on the table for me at least. And I was so happy because that last set I saw the run out easily. Thanks Bryan for your time!

Thank you again. 30+ years ago, I played 5 to 7 days a week. Didn't play pool for a lot of years, married, raising kids all that stuff. I only get to play a couple Saturday nights a month at the local bar, which isn't enough play time to be good. But your videos are really helping me remember things I have forgotten. I don't lose to many games on a Saturday night, if any. But I still want to play better. I used to be able to shoot like you consistently. But those days are gone because I don't have the time you need to spend on a pool table. And all the pool halls are gone. Used to be one in every town. My 8 ball game ain't to bad. I have a love hate relationship with 9 ball. I love 9 ball, but the tournaments they have here are the best two out of three. They play slop on 9 ball and I have gotten beat by a lesser player so many times it really get's to me. Thanks again for you videos. Going to play some 8 ball Saturday night. 😀

Awesome video Brian! 8 Ball league is starting up in about a month for me so I've been working on my pattern play a lot. Your emphasis on the key ball is a huge help for intermediate players like myself. I think once you reach a certain level you start to be able to instinctively make that decision, however it's super important to make a point of labeling it with a conscious decision on which ball is the key ball. I'm assuming by K2 you either mean another possible key ball, or the ball that will lead you to the key ball. Either way, little mental notes like that with some discipline make a big difference. Thanks again for giving us so many 8 ball videos, it's a huge help :)

Wow u exposed my problem, I can shoot , bank etc but for example I ran all balls except one before the 8 because I assumed position was good enough which in turn left me difficult shots on the 8 both games that I lost. Tyvm

Great stuff Bryan. I'm in an 8-ball league, and it seems to me that more often than not I manage to do that 1000 to one shot to hook myself on the eight ball. I can figure out the pattern and key ball fairly well, but still end up on the wrong side of the ten ball and have to kick at the ten! Working on it though! Thanks.

Beautiful video B! I was explaining the importance and power of the pocket hanger to a lower skill level player last night. They were having trouble understanding why I was wanting to be positioned on the rail for the shot though. I set it up for them from both sides first, and then three slightly different angles in open table space. It clicked in very quickly after not getting the desired result on the shots that weren't on the rails.

Thanks, Brian. Very interesting video again. I guessed most of the time the right path for the runout. But I still have problems to pocket the balls, so my runout is over most of the time over soon. And since that’s my problem, chances are good, that me too would end behind that 10 ball!😂

Thanks to your videos I could immediately see the correct pattern for the set-up at 14:30. Now if I could get the danged balls to go in the pockets more often than once in a while, I'd be really good. Unfortunately knowing how to do and actually doing it are two different things.

this is excellent, but I play on a UK table with snooker type tight pockets, if I hit the middle of the pocket a good chance it'll go in but often it bounces out, I just wish we had more tables like this in my country
I really enjoy your videos Brian. Friday i was in a car accident. So I decided yesterday to got shoot a couple games instead of laying around. Long story short Not Me or I dont know has been at my house. One ball is missing from my table. Thanks to your videos I dont need all the balls to get some practice in. You have given us more than enough practice drills that dont require all the balls.

Great video Brian, could you do a short video on pocket hangers, on full table shots, with 8 ball on the short rail on the other end. Most of us know what happens with to much top spin etc etc, but the lower skill level would surely appreciate shot selections to get back to the 8 ball. Thx for the great videos

Brian I have a challenge video for you. Run out in 8ball/9ball with an 11.8 Revo. Yesterday I ran out in 8ball for the first time with that shaft and had it for 2 weeks. Had a 12.9 prior. I never ran out with my 12.9. You’re galaxies above me in skill. That being said I think you’d love the 11.8. I know you use 12.4 based on your other videos.
The 11.8 is definitely a good shaft. But having played with a Z, which is the same size it’s really not my taste. Part being that I have very long fingers and I am barely able to get a proper bridge.
@@FXBilliards that makes sense if it’s a comfort thing. I use an open bridge but also have huge hands. I’ve seen people worry that an 11.8 would make them less accurate but with practice I don’t see much difference. I just like being able to fit the shaft when other balls are in the way. Some shots I wouldn’t have been able to have hit center ball with the 12.9. Love your channel. I’ll give you credit for my 1st break & run. Cheers 🍻

From what I have observed the move from 5 to 6 is probably the greatest gap in levels. I know some player who stayed at five for a very long time. I’m talking 10- 15 years.

When I say they are connected, I mean they are almost naturals to get from one ball to the other simply by making a simple shot (nothing special needs to be done.) Thanks for watching.
