The band Morphine... dude played alto and tenor sax at once. One in each hand, and he played his own solo duet... apologizing for not remembering his name off hand. I love Josh and all his music and Morphine was incredible too.
Richie Havens Always played a guild a D40 .. I think. I'd love one of those. My favorite guitar from back in the day was a Harmony Rocket Hollow body electric.. red! man I miss that one
That's an old Guild Songbird S4CE....Guild stopped making them in 98. Awesome Guitar, and hard to find. I found one in of all places Guitar Center last week... Needless to say, I didn't leave it there. Eric Clapton and Barry Gibb play them often.
Josh and Tom Morello are the 2 I personally look up to when thinking about where I want my playing style to be in the future. Right now I'm learning and I love Nu Metal. Won't deny it. I love Alternative Metal too but man Queens of the Stone Age and Rage Against The Machine are so awesome and unique to me. And Josh is just so cool! A desert man that plays guitar REALLY well and looks awesome doing it! Then Tom Morello looks kinda nerdy or weird yet is epic on his guitars! And guess what?! He uses what people would consider shitty guitars! He has one he found in Canada that has to brand, I believe was the story. So weird and he just plays guitar the way you aren't suppose to hahaha
Cool show, but the formula is annoying....I like your theme song, but after hearing it ten times it's old. Just do the show like Getting Doug with High..... Hang out for an hour and film it. Then just release the entire episode in just one part. Love the interviews........ just want longer ones.
My first guitar was an electric Ovation, played pretty horrible and sounded like crap and i can't remember what happened to it. Wish i held on to it but we moved around a lot so it's lost to time.
From about 0.22 to 1.01, what Josh is saying is 'I'm a genius' without meaning to or realising that's what he's saying. A bit like a master juggler saying 'so I just kinda throw ten balls up into the air, than catch them, and throw them, and just keep doing that'. Well that's what I thought anyway.
For a show focusing on sound (generally speaking), the mic situation really ain't that stellar. In other words, please check your booms, brothers! Or maybe invest in a bit of audio post time.

josh homme is so right in his approach to guitar playing
uniqueness is all that matters
seen Josh twice and I'm still getting over both of them, a modern guitar wizard
It's the Ovation in the '95 Kyuss and '98 Queens of the stone age concerts, both at the Bizarre festival.
love this show. I like how it's laid back.
I like how all three played a different style of music
That Ovation GP is so rare
Ikr
I used to have an Ovation Viper. I miss that guitar. But it was heavy as fuck, hurt my back after a couple songs. Great sound tho.

Richie Havens Always played a guild a D40 .. I think. I'd love one of those. My favorite guitar from back in the day was a Harmony Rocket Hollow body electric.. red! man I miss that one
I wish it was just one long video rather than 5 minute videos in different parts... still awesome though.
Old TH-cam, remember?
My favorite guitarist
Damn I'm jealous! QotSA and Kyuss have always been some of my favorite bands and I've always wanted to meet Josh.

guitar's got some war wounds, adds to the character of the sound. still sounds good. great episode guys!
