If your resin is epoxy you would do better to press with soaped film more firmly using weighted or clamped flat material to press resin to a thinner film residue. Then remove the residue with epoxy film remover or solvent to just wipe away the residue without all the sanding. It would end up going much faster without having to polish the marble with all the steps involved not to mention the change to the flat plane of the marble surrounding the crack that you create when you sand away so much stone. Polishing would also be eliminated unless there is lippage to deal with.

I have a coated granite piece on my counters it's like a big chopping board style piece. Would this work for granite too? And would I need to buy some special coating/polish to make it look the way it did and protect it from everyday kitchen messes like water, food spills, heat etc?

    Respected sir,
I offer my gratitude to you. In India and all over world in historical places, we have statue with broken nose or hand , we can repair it.
Please visit some Arabian site , how to paint the tiles.
We can paint this marble and resale in market. It's a good job.
In the past we have thrown lots of marble pieces.
    Once again thanks a lot.
    Namh shivay.
    Respected sir,
    I have one suggestion.
I fill the gap of marble inside my home using this technique.
You take one sponge 10 cm. long, 5x5 cm wide and thick.
You sock the sponge in water and squeeze it the water.
    One day before experiment.
First you clean the broken pieces with soap to remove dust. Let it dry.
    Experiment.
You put the solution and pass the half dry and wet sponge on the surface of cracks, the excess of solution will be absorbed by sponge.
You must first practice , how to pass sponge. My hand have enough practice. With this need to do very lesser effort. You also get floor color.
But tiles color will hide entire mark.
    Namh shivay.

How does this product respond to Quartz? I managed to break my new counter in two during transportation. Much thicker material, 3 breaks at weak points near hole cut for sink. Is this epoxy strong enough to hold without need for additional support? I am considering treating it like tile to give it a backer board for additional support.

sam k no not the best for that situation. If you are responsible for it breaking during transportation you can check out the manufacturer and ask for the same color in Integra 2 part apoxy. It will match the stone atleast... However polishing quartz is difficult takes time and patience... I have used a 3 step finishing technique from a kit you can purchase online it will never be perfect, however it will be the best you can do unless you replace it

@@yeahnah7220 I don't actually use it for chopping. I use it more as a counterpoint saver to put my pots on etc after cooking so the residual heat doesn't damage the counter tops.

@@tara9389 Still, throw it out as its not worth fixing. Perhaps grab a slab of beer and go down to your local stone bench top fabricators workshop and tell them you're hoping you could swap the slab of beer for a piece of a granite off cut or a sink cut out. We literally fill 2 x 4 cubic meter bins per week with off sink cutout, off cuts and scraps, so youll find something easy enough.

According to a google search, the cheapest replacement would be like 50 bucks. Depending on what stuff i use i could probably spend like 20 bucks, and some time repairing the thing. therefore saving me a lot of money.
