I longplayed this quirky shooter once before, but I figured it was due another playthrough with a different ship. There's something fresh about the art style and music, which create a subtly disturbing world full of insect-based enemies for you to shoot.

I love this game, especially the soundtrack
stage 3 is my fav. its a jungle. you are not fighting aliens that are evil. you are fighting creatures that just exsit there on the day to day and are eating YOU becouse you are smaller prey. it gave the sense that this place exsits and contuines even after you have moved on to the next level. the worm at the end is a straight up apex predator.
Level 7's music is super trippy
Main menu music goes hard - nothing has surpassed it even to this day
Bio punk is the 90s cyberpunk :3 this and subterraraia and contra hard corps come to mind, your ship is not just a ship, its a life form, the piolts are fused with it. The turrets are not just gu n s they are creatures, the bullets are spores and spikes. Modern games in this style are rare. Scorn comes to mind. And the recently released beat em up indie "slave zero X" is full on this style.
Must admit, those are pretty creative boss fights! And more than decent shooter!
A really good and underrated shump on the sega megadrive IMO. Awsome music too!!
Definitely - I was just listening to the music and thinking "this is really cool"
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays Absolutely ! The music can be sometimes very catchy (levels 1 and 6), other times very atmospheric (levels 2 and 5) and even a reference to the theme of the film, like the level 7... This one reminds me of some Akira music?! BTW you are a really skilled player, you seem to easily get through the game. 👍
A little metroidish music. Developed by sega?!
Yeah, strange sounds
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays Fighting off evil aliens that take over the human world
Nice, nice: been awhile since I played this game, good choice 😉
Cool video man
One of my favorite games for the visuals alone. Watching a longplay of it in such high definition is a real treat
5:02 sounds like Crysis 2 😀
Reminds me of Chimera Beast, but with Venus the Flytrap palette.
This game had some serious sub-bass in the soundtrack. Used to make the TV case rattle
Is that the model of the suloco ship from aliens at the start
yes i bought it used 39 99 ! no case just cart! i was lucky to find it!!!!
Bravo
Should've selected the top right ship (Electra). Her Red weapon is devastating
bio hazard battle rapid fire ?
i have this on my old 16 bit mega drive
but can not find one that have rapid fire building like on my 16 bit mega drive (in bio hazard battle the option menu)
(turning rapid fire on in options)
((in 16 bit mega drive i press and hold ,,C as i play this game))
were must i go and look for one that works on sega Fusion or SEGA Genesis emulator
pleas let us know
thank you for reading
CRYING doesn't have rapidfire, but the US version (biohazard battle) does.
I know this is a product of a separate company, but for some reason, I'm getting Panzer Dragoon vibes from this game.
This is a prequel to Resident Evil 0.
The story of how the T Virus came to Earth.
Nope. It follows that genre of aliens movie and how futuristic humans uses robots and mutants to wage their wars and how a heroic pilot defeats the bad guys.
@@haseo8244 ......and a piece of an aliens blood or something fell down to earth and it became the T virus...the others fell into the ocean and where found while building rapture, but that's a whole nother story.
So was this the game the reason Resident Evil got its name in the west?
No, AFAIK that's because of the metal band Biohazard.
@@DarkChojin That makes sense.
That soundtrack is very weird. And the boss battle music is just... shudder... a bit cringeworthy. But otherwise, nice game.
Shitty take
