That opening is absolutely epic and powerful. Imagine being a kid in 1992; you rented this from the video store, and you didn't know your TV's speakers were up so high. Once that music started playing, it shook your whole house, and then your mom yelled at you to turn it down, so she can watch her soap opera.
It IS! I guess so, I sure did just watch the entire video. It was the first game I ever popped into my first Sega Genesis. I think I recall thinking "MY, this is challenging."
It’s taken me 29 years to see the end of this game, lol! Found it way too hard, I never made it past the skeleton dragon boss. You make it look so easy! Great play. Thank you. 🥳
God do I miss this game. I wish it would get a port to modern consoles or an HD Remaster. Thanks for helping keep the memory of this game a live. I wish it would comeback so bad.
@@JasonMontell2501 I know. I own it. I'm saying to revive it with new graphics like the Asha in Monster World remake or maybe even like Streets of Rage 4 in terms of art style
I owned this game and had lot of fun back in the days, some uncles use to say "hey, this chick in the game is hot" lol. Something I found out when young: you only hear the complete version of the music on 1st stage act 1 if you take a little bit longer to go down that ladder at 1:55: if you do as I say another variation of the first part of the music will be playes, but it is cool because music makes a more seamless transition from medieval to action (that in this video happens at 2:06). Not sure if this happens in other acts/phases as not all of them can be rushed that way, and cours if the goal is sppedrun this may seem useless. Thanks for bringing me back memories of my childhood!
here to relive the trauma of never being like 12 and never being able to defeat the boss at 37:21. (he would just not die, never ever) glad 30 something years later youtube is around and I can see the rest of the game, lol.
0:14 "Associated with GAINAX" And just like that, I suddenly understand why Alisia is wearing a skimpy outfit that shows off her boobs and butt throughout the whole game
21:21 I hate that dragon Dx I never defeated it, and therefore I learned to fear it xD I was afraid of the sound he makes, you can even hear it before it appears, even before the boss music plays! Imagine hearing that while wandering alone on a mountain?? very good detail
The first game I ever played on the Sega Genesis.I bought the game used from a mess of a guy I had once given rides to work and back for. His son was at my house when I got the game home. As I started to play the game the kid was laughing while looking through the game manual. He pointed out how his dad had kept track of high scores and written his name by each score. I said "He's a PROUD MAN!" and I cracked open a cold one. Poor kid was frozen in face-palm for a good hour, man. It was at that time - that I understood why this kid was always on my couch. Eating MY food.
I've heard the name before but can't say I've ever played nor seen a playthrough of this before. I love games like this. I read your description about the difficulty being a bit off-putting, sounds like it is more for hardcore gamers then? If so, right up my alley!
Impressive playing right there, well done! Unfortunately on emulators, the input on button presses is atrocious and makes the game much harder than it already was. Could only beat the last boss "Edge of Tomorrow" style. Got 71% (Elven Mage). Lastly, Alisia was T H I C C
Had this game back in the day and even today I realize that the concept was cool but execution was crap... Dragons were kinda useless and IMO they should've not gone with the attack system they did, waiting for your bar to charge up made no sense then and makes no sense now that I'm an adult... But boy did I spend hours on this game though...I couldn't admit it back then but Super Nintendo really did have all the good games compared to Sega

I love this game: amazing character design, some of the best music ever and a great gameplay

Man I forgot about this game. I used to love playing this growing up. Truly a hidden gem.
This was one of my favorite Sega Genesis games of all times, what a classic.

Very fond memories of this game.
I love this game. And you are his big master. Perfect gameplay. Compliments.
Never heard of this game before. It looks really cool. It reminds me of classic arcade side-scrollers like Rastan and Cadash.

Same for me!! I beat him jut one time! This game was quite hard. The ending boss was unbeatable for me :(
Muy difícil no lo puedo derrotar
I gosh I remember this! I had it in 1994 When I was 13 years old I found it too hard back then but I loved the music!😊

I'm just not a fan of giving enemies so much health that they become damage sponges; it just becomes a bit too tedious.

Do we even know what Ornah looks like aside from his sprite??
The game is original for the time, games with a woman were rare. Interesting game but too difficult.
