  • And now for a non-break treat, and one that features one of the original programs that launched with The Disney Channel in 1983: an episode of the obscure Mouseterpiece Theater!
George Plimpton presents an in-depth commentary on three classic Disney shorts: “Crazy Over Daisy”, “Gulliver Mickey”, and “The Big Wash”. The hosting segments, from this very airing in fact, have been uploaded online, however this is a slight quality upgrade and besides, this is a pretty rare show and probably will never be brought to Disney+, so might as well!
As shown from a April 12, 1992 repeat.

I miss this so much. Nobody could make classic cartoons feel like a fine wine and cheese party and make it seem fun to an 8 year old like George Plimpkin

As a matter of fact, the Donald Duck cartoon Crazy over Daisy is on Disney plus. It came out in the same year as both Disney movies Treasure Island and Cinderella.

According to the credit message at 9:08 and the copyright at the very end, this had to be one of the earliest Disney Channel series.

On the Disney DVD of Mickey and the beanstalk, this cartoon is on after the Mickey Mouse cartoon Thru The Mirror and before the final cartoon Mr. Mouse takes a trip.

I remember all 3 cartoons but they aren't on Disney plus. As a matter of fact, this first cartoon was on the Disney DVD best pals Donald and Daisy. Gulliver Mickey came out in 1934 the same year Donald duck was born. As a matter of fact, it's on the DVD of Mickey and the beanstalk.

This cartoon was on Walt Disney presents. But it came out in the same year as Cinderella. The final cartoon came out in 1948 the same year as Melody Time. But this Goofy cartoon has the same ending as the Pluto cartoon Pluto's housewarming.

I think this host should know that this animal was in both the Goofy cartoon Tiger Trouble and the Donald Duck cartoon Working for Peanuts. But these 2 cartoons aren't on Disney plus.
