Elvis has been around right at 50 years now and I remember back in the seventies thinking this guy especially this song, the Ska backbeat and Elvis's iconic voice just oh man. Dude recorded nothing but hits for almost 20 years pretty good in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame(such as it is) is it I think 80th of the top 100 figures in rock and roll. Pretty damn good Irish boy.
Aren't we all just charlatans & thieves, Elvis? Hasn't postmodernism dispelled the myths of authenticity & autonomy? (What Robert Plant should've said...)....
If Elvis had composed nothing except for this song, he still would have been a Hall of Famer.
Ahmen.

This is one of his best songs! I like the Reggae beat and the acidic lyrics!

This remains an iconic song. Despite or maybe because it's over forty years old.
It makes today's chart music sound like so much dross.
