  • How to remove and replace the steering wheel and airbag on a 2002 to 2009 Peugeot 206. WARNING: Attempt this fix at your own risk. Working on or near the airbag unit could be very dangerous so use extreme caution !. Disconnect the battery at least 30 minutes before you begin, to disable the airbag system, and leave it disconnected until the work is fully completed. After you disconnect the airbag connectors, do NOT probe the airbag terminals or connectors with a test meter as this could risk triggering the airbag. If you are in any doubt, take the car to a Peugeot specialist or garage and have a fully qualified mechanic carry out the procedure. Thanks for watching. Please comment, like and subscribe !.

    My car has the same locking method as your car. I Attempted to remove the airbag, but was unsuccessful. I didn't know what was the problem, because I didn't know the working principle of the lock. Through your video, I found out that I didn't have enough pushing force. Thank you~

    Great video thanks 👍 super clear. I just realised that the replacement clockspring unit that I bought is missing one of the two main airbag cables (the right one). Unfortunately the replacement unit was sitting in my garage for a while and too late to return to the seller. I don’t suppose that its possible to open up the clockspring units so I can transfer the missing cable from the old one to the new one?
    (the airbag cables come from the inside the clockspring unit, and the whole reason I did this job is the indicator wasn’t working reliably - faulty indicator switch.)

      @screwsnutsandbolts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know if you can even open the clockspring to be honest.

    I need to do this on a Citroen C1 but apprehensive about messing it up.
    Will I need a heavy duty torx bit + wrench, or will I be OK with something in a more 'consumer' price range?
    Useful video - thank you. :)

      @@screwsnutsandbolts Thank you - biggest fear is that I'll let the airbag off or something or sheer the bolt or something else stupid -- but I guess it's just beginner nerves. :)

      Just make sure you disable the airbag using the proper procedures and take your time. The process might be different on a Citroen so if you're in any doubt, take it to a garage.

    Hi. A mechanic changed the steering wheel air bag module. The face of the one he's changed it to is a different colour. I have the old one that is the right colour and looks brand new. Can you remove just the finished face and replace the bad one with the better one? I see it has side tabs all around it. I wondered if it's possible to get these off without damaging the module or it going off? Many thanks.

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't actually know. I would not take any chances taking parts off the old one. It could be very dangerous
