You used to make me laugh when I came to your house when I was younger with your son (Dan). I don’t have much interest in bikes (although I do have more interest now watching your vids), but I find your videos very entertaining and good easy watches, especially the travel ones 👍😎 Keep them coming, nice work mate!
The reason I subscribed is that I also built a burner (A Mag burner that I customised) as well and it's just interesting to see what someone else's experience was. Also - I think you would make a good TV presenter. It's like watching a children's TV show... but with some hilarious adult jokes thrown in! All the best. Look forward to seeing your Mag Burner.
Really good work with the bikes and your youtube channel! Good info and entertainment to boot. Has got me into some restoration projects myself! Do you have contact details of where you get your decals from and costs? Googled SM design and can't find anything. Thanks and keep the videos coming! 👍🏼
Can I ask where do u end up buying these bmx’s from? I’m looking for one to do up and have a mid life crisis too.. but unsure where to look.. seems everyone thinks they are worth £500 if they are found in swamp or if they are done up and repainted
Hi RichFit, thanks for commenting 👍 There are a lot of dreamers out there that’s for sure. I occasionally buy from some of the Burner Facebook pages, but mostly I pick them up on eBay. You’ve just got to be patient and they come up. I generally look for ones that have most of the original parts but look a bit tatty. Sometimes I’ll spot one that’s slipped under the radar a bit - I paid £170 for the red one, and I only actually bought that because it came with a set of red Simplex Mag wheels. The most I paid for a full bike was £329.00 for the Night Burner (it was a bit rough though). The best time to buy is from mid-January/February/March - the prices are usually a bit lower then. Prices have been a bit silly over Covid but they are dropping back down to reasonable levels again now. A decent survivor or a sympathetically restored one will cost anything from £400-1000 depending on the model and originality. I hope that helps Cheers Neil
Awesome restoration mate. Turned out well.
Thank you for the shout out. Much appreciated.
