Watching your restoration video brought back happy memories in the early 80s when I visited Halfords with my mum and dad and bought a Raleigh Mag Burner. I have the same Lidls bike stand in my garage gathering dust. I hope one day I can sort my garage out and perhaps dare to try and restore an old bike from my childhood days. We can’t bring back our love ones, but we can bring back an old bike from a time we fondly remember. Thanks for uploading this because you don’t see a lot of Raleigh Mag Burners on TH-cam,

One of my mates owned a Super burner, he was brutal with his bikes, and would push them to the limit. He cracked the frame one day while going through some jumps we had built. He had a few BMX's over the years, Raleigh, Mongoose etc, he would literally decimate them on the track!! None of us would let him near our bikes!!

Amazing bud, looks sweet. I got my first Burner when I was 11, Xmas '83, red and yellow MKI, I loved it but when I seen the MKII's the following year I thought they looked way better. Autumn last year I got myself a chrome MKII, great survivor condition, almost complete, just missing a couple of reflectors and I was going to keep it original but I modified it to the way that I would have done when I was younger, can't wait to get out on it in the good weather.

Nice one, that turned out great, i don't remember the mk2 mag burner. I assume the mk1 was the yellow and blue one with those nasty 7 spoke Simplex wheels that broke easily.
Thank you for your kind words. This was one of my early restorations using paint. I dont like powder coat as the originals weren't. There is supposed to be a black pad set yes with Raleigh on them. Stick around. I have a mk1 I'm working on.

That was my first BMX too, the white mag burner. I'm thinking it would have been Christmas 83 or 84. Thanks for the memories, now to get myself one.

I'll never forget the first time i ever sat on one of these bikes back in the 80's and noticing how solid and strong they were. 80's forever. 👍🏻

I had the black burner ....then later had the chrome one all second hand...and I now have 80% 30 odd years later a Mag burner on the build.

I had a burner an one That was called a mag 20 . that looks nice in white 👍🏻/ SR horse necks were mint an MX brakes, mine had oval tubes
