He was also third in deep passing yards and seventh in deep passing completion percentage last season. So yet again, another false narrative has been busted.
It was a bad play call plain and simple. All the receivers but Hockenson had deep routes that were too long in developing and the left guard did not stop the defensive tackle AT ALL. After he sets his feet, the DE is on him in half a second. Kirk had no time to throw and was about to be sacked. So it wasn't a bad decision.
