    I just ordered 2 of these colored plastic models, one for my wife and one for me. I didn't realize that it was a newly featured service. Wait times are 3 weeks lol glad I ordered when I did.

      I was lucky enough to had backed the Kickstarter for the colored plastic and ordered mine before the service was opened to the public. I live in Canada so shipping times for me is typically 2 weeks, plus 1 week of production works out to the 3 week timeline they predict. Sometimes they can get these to customers faster than expected but it all depends. I hope you and your wife enjoy the miniatures when they arrive. Thank you for your comment.

      @@SolarPrimal I don't mind that they were a lil pricey because I'm happy to support such a cool and innovate product/company. Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if they show up a lil early but I don't mind waiting. From what I can see in your video it'll be well worth the wait. I know my wife is gonna flip when she sees hers. She has blue hair and I made her miniature with blue hair and some cats that I colored resemble some of ours.
      Thanks for the review/showcase, makes me even more excited for when mine arrive.

    I just got 2 that I bought. They did a really good job. It's not as clear and crisp as what you make on their site but... it's a nice service for someone with more money than painting talent who doesn't know any painters. I mean it's not, say, Warhammer 40K level but I was still surprised at how some much color they could put in there. One of the minis swords was bent a bit though. I've been afraid to try and straighten it since they are supposed to be super brittle. But other than that, very happy. Getting 2 of them with shipping and tax and all that fun stuff, came out to a little over $100. So it's NOT cheap.
    But like I said, if you are ok with the price, have no painting talent, and don't know anyone who paints minis... then I'd say go for it.

      Thank you for your very in-depth opinion and experience with these miniatures. I had also purchased two colored plastic minis and oof that price was steep. I’ll certainly be limiting myself to one mini whenever I order my next colored plastic mini. Though it has gotten me interested in painting miniatures myself. Overall great experience for me even till this day.

    I plan on getting one for Christmas, is it worth the price? I plan on getting the colored plastic one. Or is the premium plastic version better?

    • @SolarPrimal
      @SolarPrimal  4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      It’s all preference really. The colored plastic is great for those who either don’t have time to paint or aren’t confident in their painting skills. I personally prefer the regular plastic over the premium plastic. The regular is more durable over the premium. The colored plastic is graded by heroforge as being one of their more fragile materials so I’d recommend having something to carry the mini in (like a chessex dice case with the bubble wrap that comes with the mini for example). For one mini I think it is worth the price. For multiple, I would stick with the regular plastic. But again it is preference.

      I just bought one of the colored ones. A few things that you should know. If you’re character is xl the price gets doubled. And be warned, the miniature is soo tiny for the price.

    how did you do that 9 tailed fox design ??

    • @SolarPrimal
      @SolarPrimal  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Using the advance pose option, I moved each joint on each tail to get them to shape the way I wanted them to be. It took a lot of time to get the tails just right.

    I'd be more than happy to print and paint your minis for $45 each, and guarantee a much better paint job than those color printed minis.

    • @SolarPrimal
      @SolarPrimal  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A very generous offer! I've heard Hero Forge offers a painting service as well, but it is expensive. Though the color prints don't give the same detail as painted minis, I still feel they are a decent alternative for those who aren't in contact with a painter of their own or aren't confident in their own painting skills. Thank you for watching!

      To clarify: Checking the website just now, yes, the paint feature that allows you to add colors to the miniatures before purchasing is available. The comment above is discussing getting the miniature hand painted, THIS feature is only available exclusively to Kickstarter Backers.

    No offense but... I woulsn't say this is spot on. The level of detail is much lower. His eyes are almost not even there. I can't even make out what his eye color is...

      Fair points. It honestly doesn’t matter to me when the mini is on the table. I can still tell which mini mine is.

    • @YukianesaDrive
      @YukianesaDrive 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SolarPrimal Of course that's fair, and I'm glad you're satisfied, it just seems to me that the whole point of this service is to have a mini made to your exact detail and specification.

    • @SolarPrimal
      @SolarPrimal  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And you’re not wrong. I believe their intention was to bring a new and unique alternative to miniature. It’s not for everyone. Since this video, I’ve tried my hand at painting minis and I really enjoy it. But who knows, maybe the technology could improve in the future to get more details in the end result.

      @@SolarPrimal I hope so, I love the idea of it. And it's still a very cool model one can always paint for themselves. Plus, it has plenty of applications aside from that, with the portait creation and such.

      That’s not too far off. If you’d like my suggestions, could add side items for the pouches, pick a different top (I think there is one more suitable), and play with the body measurements more. The more you play around the more familiar you’ll get with adjusting things here and there.
