I would probably break out the Dremel with wire wheels & cups for those corners and tough spots. Thanks for sharing your process and knowledge on this Jeff! 🙂
This panel bonding adhesive is a tool like anything else, but it's a good one. It's good enough to be the approved repair method for BMW and to build the whole F150 cab with. There's certainly things we can use if for in our older cars. The main thing is to understand what it is, how it works, strengths, weaknesses, and where it's intended to be applied.
Yeah we use the same glue and that more expensive air glue gun we use it for glueing semi fenders on the hood it works great and lol I cringed with the knife scraping lol I’m a younger guy that loves knives my knives are an addiction lol I got 50+ plus budget style knives and a few that are a bit more
What I find be the best way to prevent leaks is to use a hammer and dolly first. Meaning laying the glass on the metal and look at gaps. Mark them and hammer for perfect fit so you know the rubber will be evenly touching the metal. Then, make real rust repairs. Then use whatever to seal the metal. A 2k clear coat on metal would do similar to your glue except you can spray it
🔔😎 The panel between the rear windshield and the deck lid is called the dutchman panel. Dont ask me why. The front cowl panel with the air louvers and wiper shafts is called the scuttle panel. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Acrylic enamel Is about $65 per gallon with reducer and activator. It doesnt shine like clear but it lasts 10+ years outside. Not a bad deal for $ 150 for red paint plus normal supplies every job needs. Personally, I will NEVER get another clear coat job. Top dollar brand name paint lasts 36 months outside. Ouch $$$. Shop around for good prices. Avoid the high dollar schtuff. Also when enamel fades away you can recoat it easily. You dont have to spend days $$$ stripping off the ruined clear.
If your going to work with lead, make sure you lick you fingers first 🤣😂 My Grand Dad taught me household electrical work telling to lick my fingers to see if the wire is hot 😮
Would have been less expensive to use 3M epoxy seam seal that has corrosion inhibitors. Or any 2k seam sealer. There are ton of seam sealers with corrosion Inhibitors.
I used JB weld to do that once. It worked especially for a 19 year old who just wanted to drive his car

Very interesting. Never thought of using panel bonding adhesive that way. Thanks for the idea.
Another great video Jeff! Fords were famous for rusting out in those bottom corners of the back glass. 64 Galaxies were the worst. Great repair!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge to keep the hobby alive 😊

Appreciate your attention to detail. 👍👍👍
I found rust behind All the XLT molding on 73 f100 & need instructions on grinding/sanding cancer spots and studs. Gr8JOB!!
The music and graphic for Story time had me laughing, classic.
I’m going to install floorpans this way, it’ll dry hard as a rock😎

Why not POR 15 on the whole lip area? My problem area is the top of the lip for the rear window.
POR is great if you are going over rust. It doesn’t do its best on raw steel.
Good explanation
A better way is to put the tip on the gun and let the panel bond come out of the tip and watch the colors mix and then your ready

We have small wire wheel cups at work that would get in there
Cant say gun, but DP is fine.😂
