A fun fact: here in my country, Brazil, Woody Woodpecker was the very first animated series to be shown at TV during the late 40s, and even to date he is the most popular cartoon here. I don't know if this is true, but Brazil was the only country in the world that shown the movie on cinemas, i saw the movie on the cinema but i didn't like it so much, i think the classic cartoons are better. Walter Lantz was such a great man for creating a amazing charachter like Woody Woodpecker.

Blanc did return to voice Woody in 1948 for capitol records and voiced him until 1955 and also from 1941’s Pantry Panic” to 1949’s Drooler’s Delight” Blanc’s Woody laugh from 1941’s “Woody Woodpecker” was reused until in the late 1940s when Blanc tried to sue Walter Lantz for using his Woody laugh without permission by the time Blanc tried to sue Lantz Lantz’s studio had closed down, Blanc lost the case and Lantz agreed to never use Blanc’s laugh again while Blanc’s “Guess Who?” would continue to be used for the remainder of the series when Lantz reopened his studio in 1950. ironically in 2 post-1949 shorts “Puny Express” and “The Woody Woodpecker Polka” Blanc’s laugh is used

Agreed. I first saw the 1999 version of Woody in 2009 and then the 1940-1943 version. I immediately liked the 1940-1943 version. I also liked the 1944-1949 version of Woody.
