Doesn't work. The option "Create Map" doesn't appear on either iPhone or iPad in Google Maps.

When I import into Google maps, all I get are the locations, but not a route. What am I doing wrong?

Four Years Old. So out of date. None of this applies to 2024, FYI

Can you explain further how to use turn by turn navigation with a map created in RV Trip Wizard, then exported to Google Maps? Isn't the trip sent to My Maps which is different than regular Google Maps? I can't figure out how to "Start" the navigation. It just shows the map.

Hi Rob. Yes, importing the GPX file into Google Maps will place it in Your Places/My Maps. Assuming you are on a GPS enabled device, you won't see any Start button or anything until you select the first leg of your journey, by clicking on the appropriate red teardrop icon or pin head icon. Then those controls should show up.

This did NOT work due to file size being too large.

I'm following along step-by-step, but I keep getting this message: The file contains invalid or unsupported data, or the file is too large to parse.
    Why?

Hi and thanks for another helpful video. Ive imported an R V trip map into Google maps and now I’ve modified the original RV trip map in RV Trip Wizard. How do I get the google map updated? Do I delete the Google map and export/import an entire new map from RV Trip Wizard?

Hi, I am trying to get the trip exported to My Rand McNally GPS. Help!

    • @RVLIFETripWizard
      @RVLIFETripWizard  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Here is the most commonly ascribed method that we know of for the Rand McNally GPS.
There is another set of steps below if you have the Overdryve 7 RV GPS.
      1) Export your trip as a CSV file (Send to GPS from the Trip menu wrench icon).
      2) Go to your File Explorer (My Computer or just Computer) and find your CSV file. The default location should be your Downloads folder.
      3) Right click the file and choose Copy.
      4) Locate your Rand McNally device in the File Explorer / My Computer.
      5) Open up the device by double-clicking.
      6) Locate the RM folder and double-click to open.
      7) Locate the ImportTrip folder. If for some reason there is not a folder with this name, create it. There is no space in the folder name, just "ImportTrip".
      8) Open this folder by double-clicking.
      9) Right click into the empty folder area and choose Paste, your CSV file should now be in the RM\ImportTrip folder.
      10) Now go back and highlight Rand McNally device in File Explorer / My Computer and right click and choose EJECT.
      11) Disconnect when you see the message that says it's safe to do so.
      12) Your Rand McNally GPS will restart, if not, power it off and back on again.
      13) You will see a multi-stop trip OR a custom POI ready for import (depends on version).
14)) Say yes or follow instructions for importing.
This is the method suggested for the Overdryve 7 RV
      1. Export your trip as a CSV file (Send to GPS from the Trip menu wrench icon).
      2. Go to Internal Storage in Overdryve and choose Open File.
      3. Open the .navi folder
      4. Open RM folder
      5. Open the Import Trip Folder and copy the csv file you created in step #1 into this folder. You can also change the name of the CSV file if you wish.
      6. Start the Navigation in the Overdryve, a screen will pop up asking you to import the file, choose Start Import.
      7. Tap the empty search bar and a box with Guided Search will come up on the next screen.
      8. Tap Guided Search, then Multi Stop Trips and scroll to the trip you just imported.
      9. Tap Start Trip
