    I have never been able to set the printer to print 12x12! How do you set it up?

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What software are you using for your image? Or is your image already 12x12? I can make you a video this evening to show how. You need to use the rear feed slot. Change the printer settings using the touch screen to change the size to 12x12, be using an image that is 12x12 and have the preferences in the print dialog box set to 12x12.

      @@LittleGraySquirrel I don't know what i did but it is now printing 12x12. I think I had it set to plain paper instead of cardstock.

      @LittleGraySquirrel  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@little.iodine Yes, that makes sense. Changing the paper type to cardstock will let you choose the 12x12 size. I’m glad it is working for you now.

    What print settings do you use for card stock for making cards? I’m really not impressed with the colors and someone told me that bought a card from me that it looks like it came from a home printer and thought it would be better quality 😢

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I usually just choose the setting for the paper type I am using. I would probably use matte presentation or premium matte for cardstock (I think those were options, my craft room and printer is packed up right now). Cardstock is pretty porous/fibrous. You might look into pre made cards to print on or something with a smoother surface that will have a more vivid print.

    Msy I ask how did you get it to print edge to edge? Mine prints with a small white border on all 4 sides.

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In the preferences settings for the printer, in the Additional Features area, check the box next to Borderless Printing. It will limit the Printer Paper Size options you have like you can't do Legal, A5, or Custom sizes borderless but there are still many choices. It will also slightly enlarge your image to extend off the edges so don't use borderless for something where you need something in the image to print at an exact size.

    What is the best program to use when printing 12 x 12 borderless scrapbook paper?

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use Silhouette Studio because I am most familiar with it. I have a video on how to use patterns and digital papers in Silhouette Studio. It is a free software if you are just printing from it. th-cam.com/video/f50-cy9tJt0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mgWz9I7lFC7wAmnu You can also use image editing software like Photoshop, possibly GIMP, try Canva? You need your choose the borderless setting and choose a material that the printer is able to print borderless on. If you choose borderless I believe it will only show you the paper options that are compatible with borderless. Let me know if you need anything else.

    Have you had any issue with your printer printing dark or items having a blue or green tint to them? I have this same printer but it is printing the colors wrong from my computer. Are you printing from a PC or Mac? the colors look totally printing from my ipad vs my PC.

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sorry for the delay. I haven't experienced that but I have only printed anything that would be noticeable from my PC. I don't know for sure what the problem is in your case but I know there can be a difference if the computer or device is using RGB color codes vs CMYK. The TS9521C uses CMYK. If you are using procreate when you see this problem try this video and see if it might help th-cam.com/video/fHUhKM1dPWI/w-d-xo.html

    Great video. Can you talk about what .lb cardstock you can use with this printer please?

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I think the thickest I have printed out of the front tray is 40lb text weight paper which is twice as thick as regular copy paper.
      The thickest I have printed from the rear feed is poster board which is the regular poster board from Dollar Tree that I cut down. I think it is 98lb? But it doesn't have the weight stated. It printed better on the matte side but I have printed on the shinier side too just make sure it doesn't have any finger prints on it.
      The print on card stock at the end of the video and in my post about the printer on my website I show photos of 12x12 card stock I have printed. I believe that is 65lb cardstock.
      Is there a particular weight of card stock you are wondering about?

    Thanks for the great info. I will be getting this printer tomorrow. I, too, have used an Epson (WF-7510) for the past 12 years. Loved it, but it's just tired and I can't get any yellow anymore. A crafty friend had this one and liked it. I have only ever used pigment inks, so this is a change for me to use die inks. Curious to see if I'll like it less or more. Again, thanks for the information. Is WIFI the only way to hook it up? Meaning, is there an ethernet cord input per chance?

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can connect via Ethernet cable however the printer does not come with the cable (only a power cord). The Ethernet port is right above the power port.

    I bought this printer Canon Pixma TS9521c and I’m really struggling. It won’t stay connected to any of my devices. (Phone and tablet) or my husband’s phone. I want to print pictures but every time it’s a major ordeal setting up it, basically from square one. It keeps coming up with a message saying I’m not connected and to check my settings. Any advice?Thanks.

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't have a lot of knowledge about wi-fi and connectivity but I did figure out how to switch the printer so it will turn itself on when you try to print from your phone. It was driving me crazy too. Hopefully that is the issue you are having. I have the steps on my post about the printer www.littlegraysquirrel.com/wide-format-inkjet-printer-for-craft-room/ Scroll down on the post or select section 6 in the Table of Contents "How to change the Canon Printer to Auto Power On".

    Hi, Thank you for this great video of the Cannon pixma. I'm subscribing to your channel because I also have a Silhouette. I'm seriously considering getting this Printer, because it has all the features I need as a scrapbooker, Sihouette user and crafter.
    How do you like it so far?
    Have you used it to print photos and are you happy with the quality of the colors?
    Also what is the heaviest cardstock you have used in it? Sorry for all the questions!

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem! Thank you for the questions and subscribing.
      I have been quite happy with the colors. I haven’t printed photos yet but I need to soon. I will let you know how it goes. The heaviest I have printed on is poster board which I fed through the back. Anything much thicker than regular paper or larger than letter size would print from the back. I have printed 40lb paper from the front tray which is twice as thick as regular printer paper.
      Originally I didn’t think it would turn itself on when I sent something to print after it had shut off but I figured out how to change that setting so I was pretty happy with that.

    Is off brand ink available for this printer?

      Yes! That is what I have been using. This printer uses one 280XXL pigment black cartridge and four 281XXLl cartridges in black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. I usually look for cheapest with most and highest reviews on Amazon. You should be able to find them for about $2.40 - $3.60/cartridge.
      I have bought this pack with three sets of five amzn.to/3SXOJkl
      and this set which was a single set of five amzn.to/48Do6XB
      This is the cheapest one I saw most recently and it still has great reviews amzn.to/4bVSiQL

    What program do you use to upload the images from creative fabrica?

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Silhouette Studio as my design software. If you are just printing from the software you can use the free version. You don’t need a Silhouette machine to download it. You do have to have a Mac or Windows computer though. You can read the minimum computer specifications and get the software here if you need a design software. www.silhouetteamerica.com/software/ss
      Inkscape or GIMP are free and would work but they are more technical in my opinion.
      You should be able to use Canva as well.
      Let me know if you have any other questions.

    What is the color quality like with this printer? The scrapbook paper you printed look liked the colors came out great. I'm curious to know if you had the printer on any special settings to get the colors to come out as they did?
    Also, I know I'm a little late to the party so I wonder if since that last comments, you've tried any thicker papers? I'm looking for a printer that I can print on watercolor paper (140lb). Any thoughts on this?

    • @LittleGraySquirrel
      @LittleGraySquirrel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im sorry it took so long to respond. I need to update my post with some pictures of photos and more things I have printed. To get the best prints, just choose the setting for the material you are printing on for example matte paper for printing on cardstock or glossy for printing on glossy photo paper and you can choose standard or high quality. I have also found that using good quality photo paper matters if you are printing photos. I tried some dollar tree photo paper and it didn’t turn out nearly as nice as the photo paper samples that came with the printer.
      As for the thickness of the paper, I have printed on Posterboard but I am not sure the weight. It isn’t the foam core board but the thick flexible posterboard like from dollar tree.
      I’m not familiar with the 140lb. Watercolor paper. It would go through the rear feed slot if it did.

    • @LittleGraySquirrel

      Oh no! At 4:52 in the video I show how to open the rear slot.
      Lift the cover, extend the support, lift the inner cover piece, slide the blue guides apart to the size of your material.
      Insert the material and slide the blue guides towards the material if needed so they are along side the material. Then lower the inner cover that has the little roller on it. That part has to be down for it to print.
      If the LCD screen prompts you to choose your material and size, go ahead and do that. Then in your printer preferences on your computer select the material you are using and the size and print quality and then under Paper Source choose Rear Tray. It should recognize that there is something loaded but I like to make sure it knows. Then select OK and then Print.
      I hope that helps. If it still isn’t working, let me know which part isn’t working and what you are printing on and what size it is and I will try to make a video for you. I will probably try to make one anyway but I would like to address your problem if possible.
