the Spirit Bird argument is still bad. no other game needed stupid birds to force the player to explore. the amazing environments in World were more than enough to get me to just wander around aimlessly on my initial play through. if anything, it’s Rise’s own fault that some player’s just wanted instant-dopamine, dps boss fights, because the game de-emphasized, or streamlined most other gathering aspects of MH. not to mention that all of the locales in SunRise are predominantly built out of zones that are mostly unaccessible to the wild life, making them feel a lot more hollow.
Remember getting Attack Up L from food before? Now they're tied to birds lol, pretty crazy how the staple Attack Up L is just now considered an optional buff now with how powercrept the hunters are nowadays.
@@iixxionI don't view a full health bar as an "extra buff". The spiribirds, regardless of intent, act to punish players for not taking a lap or two around the map before *every single* hunt. I do want underwater to return. And seasons, two of the series' most interesting experiments. I think if you turned spiribirds into field-crafting, you'd get it past the haters. A class of item which, once mixed, loses potency rapidly; buff items that can only be gathered, mixed, and used in the field. When you return to town they either rot or degrade to a normal-tier version of the item, like Dash Juice or whatever.
For weapons bring back the tonfa or add some hand to hand combat like knuckle gauntlets. Maybe chain and ball for blunt weapon giving it range at the cost of blunt damage. Sickle and chain could work as well being a fast attacking close range weapon but not as damaging as others but has the benefits of medium range attacks. A new addition to the game could be mini games at the gathering hub. We had arm wrestling before and it was fun when messing around there. Some ideas could be multiplayer shooting range to see who can knock out most of the targets. Sparring with other hunters in a dojo that allows other players to sit on the benches and spectate. Racing through a obstacle course. Scavenge hunt where we need to gather materials before time runs out in a certain map while avoiding monsters. If they add underwater combat then swiming racing where if you go through small hoops you gain a speed boost. This would be fun when taking a break from hunting or just chilling with the guys.
What I think will happen is underwater combat (hopefully), a new or returning weapon, and some kind of experimental open world where you can travel to locales in real time. If not between whole locales then probably some kind of merging or something. I also have a feeling that there might be migratory monsters that sort of act like real time events that could be outbreaks, more invaders, or powerful monsters that show up and you get to actively see how they affect the ecosystem in real time. Personal changes I want are to slow the combat down but keep the complexity, and I think the perfect blend would be Generations and World combat. I would like hunting helpers to come back because I like the mechanic and the reward for knowing the map. My big change would be to the camp where you can set up a box loadout for the field of limited items to restock once through the quest. I feel like it would be a good balance and deepen the camp a little more if you can choose what you think you might need to restock with along with what you bring with you.

Absolutely! RE Engine runs great on switch, and BOTW/TOTK are already doing these types of things right now. Switch2 is coming soon, and RE Engine will run even better there. My guess is that every new MH will be multiplatform, all systems targeted!
The next MH is not dropping on Switch. Sunbreak didn't "prove a modern MH can run on Switch and look great". If that was the case, Iceborne would have been ported over to Switch. The next mainline game isn't going to release with drastically cut back graphics. People want more WORLD, not RISE. As much as I hate that's a fact, it absolutely IS a fact. Though I agree with most of the things you said here. I heavily disagree on your reasoning for Spiribirds being good. Spiribirds mechanically do not work at all from just a gameplay perspective. Look man I have played A LOT of monster hunter rise/sunbreak. I have never once ever felt like I needed to go out of my way to gather spiribirds, and I guarantee that like 90% of people who have played that game share a very similar view to mine. That viewpoint being that spiribirds offer nothing of value for the actual game. First off other endemic life offer the exact same sense of exploration that you say spiribirds offer. But the difference being that it's in an infinitely more rewarding way that makes waaaaaay more sense from a gameplay perspective because they actually effect the hunt in ways that matter. Unlike spiribirds that just exist to be these things on the map that are literally just there to offer a boring little stat change for the hunt you likely didn't even fucking need in the first place because the game was already pretty damn easy normally without it. But with it you're essentially beating a dead horse over the head with another dead horse. There's no thinking involved when you pick up spiribirds it requires nagative effort from the player other than exist in the map.
With the trailer alone I don’t think the switch is gonna be capable of running MHWilds. As much as I would love it, the switch just isn’t on par with the other consoles. It can barely run SMT and Miitopia without occasional frame drops. If it works on switch, then it’ll be cool and it’ll be a miracle, but I’m just not getting my hopes up. Plus I know this is a weak argument, but the switch logo doesn’t seem to be in the announcement trailer When it comes to new weapons, I don’t think they are gonna technically make a “new weapon” but instead are more than likely gonna give us the MMO weapons like Tonfa and Magnet Spike, or the other little know weapon, the Accel Axe I feel your spirit bird argument is still a little flawed. You seem to express that people hate spirit birds because they hate gathering, which is a core part of monster hunter. From what I can tell, people don’t hate gather, they just hate gathering the birds, most cause a bonus you can gather and stalk up on is gone and replaced with a chore you would have to do at the beginning of every quest. When talking about spirit birds, I hear people complaining about collecting them every time, but I think it’s because it’s something you need to do every single quest if you want the bonus. People don’t dislike gathering (even I like to go out and explore), people just like gathering whenever they feel like gathering, and hunting when they feel like hunting, and spirit birds requires you to do both gathering and hunting at the same time if you want the bonus. Claiming people hate spirit birds because they hate gather and therefore hate would hate monster hunter is kinda disingenuous, cause you know that it’s not the gathering that people hate, but the type of gathering done when it comes to spirit birds specifically. People do like gather, just not the way spirit birds encourage it.
You really don't need to gather them for every quest. It's there to make it easier for the player that doesn't want to take the time to get significantly better at the game (and since most get the birds they'll call the game easy instead of themselves needing the hp crutch). Which is perfectly fine with the play on the go aspect of the switch. Some might say picking them up runs counter to the pick up and go playstyle. Problem with that statement is, it's still optional and for those that need it. Dango bird caller and that deco that gives a random free spirit bird lets you get way more than enough while just getting to the monster. And you don't really need to max out at 250 or even 220. People that think other wise probably are the ones who don't upgrade their armor properly or use defensive skills like they should. (because everyone wants to be a speed runner for some reason instead of just having fun) To further reiterate that you don't need the birds, I've solo'd Ex Risen Shagaru Magala (271) with no birds and with the bow. Didn't cart a single time either. I don't recall the quest time but I do know the quest had a 25 minute limit. All I needed to do was max out my defense, use dango defender, and intrepid heart. I also used Embolden for the evade window, but I didn't use any evade extender at all. It was intense for sure, but no carts. No birds, no followers, and not even pets.
@@themeekkat I’m not saying birds are needed, but I’m saying that it’s a chore you have to do every single quest if you like to have the bonus. Something to keep in mind is that this channel is a huge advocate for “anti-meta” strats, or strats that rely on defense and survivability skills over offensive risk vs reward skills. Let’s pretend there is a hunter named Bob who is one of the worst players in the game. They do everything they can to make the game easier, get defensive skills, equip armors with the highest defense, etc. let’s say Bob also has somewhat experienced MHWorld too, and learned of the instant health bar upgrade they get from eating food. Let’s sayin in world, they were always barely able to slay a monster without fainting because they have these skills and bonus health. To them, it can feel extremely necessary since they are “bad” at the game. Now let’s say they do the same in rise. This “bad” player gets all the defensive abilities they need but now instead of having that large health bar at the beginning of the quest like they are used to, they have to go out and collect the spirit birds every single time they go out on a hunt, and not only does Bob no longer have the food options to increase their health bar, but also no longer has his preferred method of gathering to receive this bonus, which is collecting the materials to make max potions. They don’t prefer collecting birds, they prefer collecting the materials ahead of time and relying on food. What I’m saying is, the part about Lix’s argument that “everyone hates spirit birds because they hate gathering” is wrong. It’s not that people hate gathering, it’s that people dislike this particular way of gathering and prefer the other ways of gathering. When counter arguing spirit birds, people often think it’s from the perspective of hunters who rely on risk vs reward skills who would benefit from having more hp, and never consider the players who use defensive skills and still need the added HP bonus I know you don’t need the birds, I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t need to rely on them when fighting risen dragons. That doesn’t change the fact that some players legitimately rely on the boosts that the birds offer, and prefer world’s and classic MH’s method of giving bonus health over Rise’s method of getting bonus health
I have a video covering that. short answer is: 4 was the last numbered title, and also the point where the two lines merged into one, so Cross was 5, world was 6, Rise was 7, and the next one is 8.
@@iixxion but... Cross was celebration game for 4th gen, World was 5th gen you're literally called fivers referring to the 5th generation of hunter. And then Rise is 5th gen as well but I could see the argument for that being 6 since theres nothing really saying its 5th besides it not being considered mainline.
Notice how he doesn't explain himself, even after acknowledging your comment? In another vid, he credits different games as "MH5" "MH6" and "MH7". If I recall correctly, he says the Generations/Ultimate counts as 5, World counts as 6, and Rise counts as 7. He is literally the only person that holds this opinion, even against the internal canon at Capcom. Generations has the hallmarks of 4th gen (frenzy virus), and World was internally known as Monster Hunter 5. Rise is basically MH5 Portable, as the portable entry for the 5th gen. I don't know if "MH8" is some hipster ego trip, or a troll campaign. Either way, it's not worth arguing about. The fact is that his ideas do not match the consensus of the community, nor the canon of the creators. Ultimately, it doesn't matter, but it does needlessly make communicating about the games more difficult.
New video 😎 sorta but I'll take it 😎 i love this video. Good time to talk about this take again. Wirebugs was almost a test to see how underwater could work unclunkilly (new word?) Imo. 5:30 Interesting that you think you know the mind of people who hate spiribirds. It's quite distasteful to put words in people's mouths. I hope this will come across as the constructive criticism it's intended to be, but making such presumptions about people without actually talking or listening to them really damages your credibility. Edit: And now I just got to the part where you're literally straw-manning the argument against spiribirds. Collecting spiribirds is *not* in *any* capacity like gathering materials. Collecting spiribirds for a *temporary* "buff" that lasts a single hunt is simply not fun. Gathering is fun because it's relaxing and rewarding. You actually get to use what you gather after the hunt is completed. End Edit. I hate spiribirds. I love gathering, exploring, and taking in my environment. Spirirbirds do not feel like an incentive to do the things I love. They feel like a punishment for not doing those things every single hunt. Just because I love gathering, etc doesn't mean I want to do it every single quest. Likewise with hunting a monster. Sometimes I just want to go braindead and run around a map aimlessly. That choice should be left to me, not dictated by Capcom.
I'm not putting words in anybody's mouth. I'm literally just reading the comments people leave on my videos! check out my three vids on the topic to see what I mean! There are dozens of ways to engage with ANY monster hunter title, so play the ones you like, in the ways that you enjoyl
I wish I had Talismans half as good as yours... But also I started to despise the Anomaly grind so maybe is just me not trying enough... I won't either, fuck spending 2j hours for the "GOD CHARM". By that I've done so many hunts, why even keep playing at this point?
I never chase charms. I just play the game (a lot...because I love it that much) and I let the set builder tell me which of my charms to use. for most of my play time, the talisman that it chose was fairly mediocre by most people's standards.
I have only played world since launch. On my ps4 then my pc in total 8000 hours but I did suffer through rise to hr7. I hated rise and want nothing from it. I only use one weapon so I don't care if they add one because I will never touch it.

I call it Monster hunter world/rise DLC 2. 😀👏🐵
Plus I know this is a weak argument, but the switch logo doesn’t seem to be in the announcement trailer
When it comes to new weapons, I don’t think they are gonna technically make a “new weapon” but instead are more than likely gonna give us the MMO weapons like Tonfa and Magnet Spike, or the other little know weapon, the Accel Axe
I feel your spirit bird argument is still a little flawed.
Switch 2 will run it easily.
@@iixxionswitch 2 may potientally run it easily, hopefully it comes into existence within the next year
@@iixxionalso OH…… my mistake, for some reason I thought this was a vid that came out today
(because everyone wants to be a speed runner for some reason instead of just having fun)
To further reiterate that you don't need the birds, I've solo'd Ex Risen Shagaru Magala (271) with no birds and with the bow.
When counter arguing spirit birds, people often think it’s from the perspective of hunters who rely on risk vs reward skills who would benefit from having more hp, and never consider the players who use defensive skills and still need the added HP bonus
I know you don’t need the birds, I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t need to rely on them when fighting risen dragons. That doesn’t change the fact that some players legitimately rely on the boosts that the birds offer, and prefer world’s and classic MH’s method of giving bonus health over Rise’s method of getting bonus health
Deja vu...
all over again!
I just been to space before!
Console players do have sunbreak. We’ve had it for some time but we just got the final title updates a few weeks ago.
I highly doubt it will be on switch, and the chances are half these things will happen
What do you mean? We’ve been had sunbreak
I need it
like the ideas, I don't think it'll work on the switch unless it comes when switch 2 is out. Why you calling it MH8 tho?
I have a video covering that. short answer is: 4 was the last numbered title, and also the point where the two lines merged into one, so Cross was 5, world was 6, Rise was 7, and the next one is 8.
@@iixxion but... Cross was celebration game for 4th gen, World was 5th gen you're literally called fivers referring to the 5th generation of hunter. And then Rise is 5th gen as well but I could see the argument for that being 6 since theres nothing really saying its 5th besides it not being considered mainline.
i want them to support the modding community on pc
give the players m odding tools + steam workshop
have you seen reframework?
yep
but it's not from the devs right ?@@iixxion
Monster Hunter I hate that he keeps calling it 8
Monster hunter 8? O.o Where did 6 and 7 go?
Watch his video on that topic
Right this next one is 6
Notice how he doesn't explain himself, even after acknowledging your comment?
Slso you probably know now but tri wad the other that had seasons. Also haven't played it yet. I agree with all these ideas though

Interesting that you think you know the mind of people who hate spiribirds.
@@iixxion I started doing just that and I've had more fun that way
Mh8 ?
I have only played world since launch. On my ps4 then my pc in total 8000 hours but I did suffer through rise to hr7. I hated rise and want nothing from it. I only use one weapon so I don't care if they add one because I will never touch it.
Spirit birds are stupid
