- The AEC MkII is one of War Thunders Rarest Tanks. It was available during an event WAY before I had even started playing but now it's lost to the Gaijin Marketplace where it's up for offer for over $500!
The AEC MkII is a Premium British Light Tank on Wheels. It has good mobility and excellent firepower due to the 47mm 6 Pounder cannon. With 130mm of penetration and a gyro stabiliser this little guy is capable of dealing with pretty much anything that's thrown at it!
The only real issue with the AEC MkII is its HEAFTY price tag due to its rarity. Every now and again Coupons go up for sale for less than $500 but not very often.
A real shame because this is one vehicle that pretty much anyone could enjoy! :)

Solid shots are so stupid in war thunder, imagine a steel round flying inside a confined space shredding metal chunks at 800 m/s and the crew just shrugs it off
Well... If it hits thin metal, it won't make much shrapnells... And if it hits thick armor, the shell is really slowed down...
I'm not saying that it's working as it should. Just saying, that it wasn't the most effective type of shells...
Eh war thunder gets APHE wrong and significantly nerfs APCR
If it were realistic everyone would use APCR and APHE would be solid shot with slightly more spall

Guess I was one of the few people that got this tank for free. Would never have redeemed it of I knew how much this thing would sell for in the market today.

Same for me. I genuinely love this thing though. Idk if you can remember, but you could get more than one coupon for this thing in the event. I sold that second coupon to but the Boarhound which was in the same event. Best decision for me in a while.

Fun note about the British 6 pounder, it should have an APDS round that has well over 170mm of pen at 10m, 160mm at 500m and 140mm at 1000m. Now given how small AP rounds deal damage in War Thunder it wouldn't be the most effective round, but it would give the 6 pounder a way of frontally penning a Panther.
I honestly don't know why Gaijin is so opposed to giving Britain their APDS round for the 6 pounder other than it would basically force them to swap the Churchill 3 and 7 around, though that would make sense, the Churchill 3 was the anti tank Churchill, and the 7 was the infantry support version. As you really can't make an effective HE shell for a 57mm gun, but you can make a very effective APDS round, and comparatively the 75mm gun on the 7 didn't have a very good AP round, but did have a decently effective HE round.
It's also hard to find solid numbers, but it's safe to say if Gaijin would give the 2 Pounder it's "Littlejohn" adaptor it would have AP pen that is better than the American compatible 75mm. Basically nearly everything low tier and British should have better pen, but doesn't. It very much feels like Gaijin dislike the British, and to a similar degree the French. I mean they fucked up the ARL-44 (ACL-1) by giving it the wrong gun.(It should have the American 76mm found on the M10, not a French 75mm that was never built. Legitimately the only reference to the French ever building the 75 mm SA44 is the War Thunder wiki, because they never did. It was the intended gun for the ARL-44, but when they were prototyping it the gun wasn't ready so they used an M10 gun they had handy and that's what they used on the prototype. While not a huge performance upgrade, the 76mm gun would give it ~20mm better pen and some explosive filler. It would also make the prototype more true to life, not perfect as the prototype had a lot of wooden bits on it, but still closer to life by at least giving it a gun that actually existed. This is literally something that World of Tanks gets right that War Thunder the more "realistic" game doesn't.
Random rant over, sorry while I might be Canadian my family is decently close to still being British, given even just as far back as my great grandparents we still had decently strong accents. We do have a tendency to just ramble. (I even easily fall into a very British accent if I watch to many British TH-camrs, it's actually kind of weird.)
Since we have the Crusader AA Mk. I & Mk. II in the game, I had a thought.
What about the Crusader AA Mk. III? We'd finally have the 20mm Polsten guns in the game at that point.

I thought the mk3 had 3 oerlikons mounted in a vertical line and was used as a trainer? the polstens are a polish development of the oerlikon.

The Mk.III was just a Mk.II with a repositioned radio.
I love how every tank you play brings back memories of me unlocking the tank..
And by that I mean I'm old. I found that I had the event KV-2 from 2015-16, where the only actual difference was a coaxial mounted pea shooter for the gunner. And let me tell you how amazing that is on its own.

This thing could in all honesty most likely deal with being up-tiered like the puma could, would just have to place shots a whole lot more carefully than you would have to with the puma.
Pumas 50mm is essentially solid shot anymore anyway. The post pen effects rarely do much better than solid shot or APCR.
@@John.McMillan True but the puma can still Ruin an IS1/2’s day from decently far away with its APHE while 57MM guns have a decently difficult time doing the same thing, unless we wanna talk about the good 57’s like the SU57, Ram2 and Crusader have
The Sdkfz 251/10 from the Strategist event a couple years ago. I have it and its greatest advantage is acting like a map asset. I've had 4 players drive past me during a Eastern Europe game simply by playing dead.
Hey Odd, have you checked out the Panzer IV F1 that's now downtiered to 2.0 for whatever reason? You have another 100mm HEAT slinging, 4 second reloading german tank that faces reserve tier tanks

Ive kinda not done very well with it. Especially because of the low velocity. Meanwhile with Swedish 37mm APDS I've probably made a few people cry the past few weeks. While kinda spawn-camping, I accidentally cannon-breached a moving T-26 from 300m away, then detonated it's ammo. Seal-clubbing of the highest order. Though later I made up for it by cannon-breaching a T-34 that was rushing our spawn, then picking apart it's crew. I've also shot SU-122s in the front, left side of the breech, killing the driver, gunner, and a loader or whatever he is, all at once. I freaking love it.

Hey quick tip. On the SU-122 it has cheeks on both sides of the gun like the T-34 and the KV-1. Its weak enough you can pin it with a M5A1. Thats how you pinned him here 7:48

@@swacks7960 quite a lot of the low pen cannons can go thru that spot. Really weird thing is a shell will pen hit the inner armor richochet but send shrapnel into the crew.
I was lucky enough to get this tank a few years back during one of the events. They temporarily added some crates that had coupons for this and several of the other rare vehicles. I watched the market and sure enough someone was selling one for 40$. I’m a collector so I was super excited to get my hands on it. It gives Britain a really good low tier light tank.
I didn't manage to get this thing for free, but I did manage to get it very shortly after the event it was released in when there were lots on the market and it only cost about 20 Gaijin coins - it's pretty mental how expensive it is now. It's definitely good fun and an effective armoured car for both scouting and fighting though; one of my favourite aspects of it though is that it seems to strangely avoid a lot of the traction issues other wheeled vehicles have, and doesn't struggle much with rough or boggy terrain.
CAS, and of course BawZ's shining personality, is what makes this channel so unique compared to other WT content creators. Well done old boy!

You could argue that the Puma has the better gun, but this thing goes up against german tanks which means lots of straight, unangled and thin armour plates.
I mean, British is also 100% flat

True, but the Puma is much better higher up. The amount of god modes and skill matters I’ve gotten thanks to the explosive filler is ridiculous.

Can we fix solid shot instead of doing no damage if tge shot is just strong enough to penetrate, if the devs actually knew how to model solid shot it wouldn't be a problem but they don't

I remember getting this tank for free back when they had that build event many years ago, it was the one to build the t-34 E, but being a proper Englishman I wanted this beauty instead, and I'm glad I did judging by its price lol

It's fairly survivable because of the angles. Same as with the AA variant, many spots on the hull frontally are autobounce, or at least with a good chance of getting a ricochet instead of a pen
One of my favorite WWII vehicles, which I'll most likely never get to own.
In my opinion SAR, 6 pounder is the best and most similar to this tank.

It’s a real shame that the Puma is the only armored car readily available. The French armored cars are there, but their higher BR and pretty much everything else about them….meh.
For some reason the Snail just doesn’t want us to have access to armored cars that can be tank-ish at the lower tiers.
With the buffs to wheeled mobility, this will be a beast and might be worth a revisit? Price on the market is now around the 100 mark rather than 600 when you made this.
I got this tank for free out of a SL crate during the 2023 Winter Extreme lol, still very fun to play a year later and its much cheaper now.

The thing I love about Britain at around this battle rating is that fun bomber for CAS - the Wellington with the 4000lb bomb :)

Solid Shot needs a buff or explosive filled shells need a nerf. The British proved they practically did the same internal damage/spalling. These explosive filled shots are behaving like grenades lol
I literally went up against this rare thingy in a kv2 but I got smashed caused from me being tracked then he circled me with bad turret turning I got stuffed.
Only vehicle I have 1,000 matches in :D Best £10 ever (only ever used over 4.7, to 7.3 where I got my first ever IS-3 kill with this. Panther and Tiger killer, USA less easy due to the .50s)
Get the Indian skin, adds to the derp. (This is my favourite vehicle in game if you haven't noticed)
@OddBawz, do it justice and use it in "late WWII" BRs. This is a beast to support any line up (since these BRs give access to fun CAP).
Something you don't even need to give gaijin money for is the other mosquito, with 4 uncle tom rockets, that if clap pretty hard if memory serves

Edit: Finding out how much this vehicle was worth inspired me to investigate how many rare vehicles I had and how much they would be worth if I could individually sell them. And I found out that combining all of my rare vehicles that could be specifically sold on the Gaijin market would net me a total of $5,888. Of course, I can't sell them since I cashed the vehicle coupons in, and even if I could I would just be selling them for useless Snail coins.
Greedy arsehole. You want to support a system of vehicle exclusivity? Shame on you.
Edit: Well, I have been buying vehicles from the market, but they should be easily accessible to all, for fair prices or grind.

Just finding out how much this vehicle was worth made me investigate just how many rare vehicles I have.
And I found out that if I was able to individually sell ALL of my rare vehicles on the Gaijin market, which I'm not since I redeemed them, they would be worth a grand total of $5,388
That also made me investigate just how much $$$$ I've spent on War Thunder over the past 9 years, specifically on GE & Vehicle packs. And the total amount made me very, very, VERY disappointed in myself.
