GEAR ROOM TOUR: How We Store Our Camping, Backpacking, Skiing, Climbing and Mountain Bike Gear

- We have spent the last year building our dream gear storage garage, and we are so stoked to finally be able to share it with you! Keeping our gear stored properly and in a way that is easy to access is super important to us, and it really helps when we’re packing for a trip. This project has been a long time in the making, and will continue to be a work in progress as long as we live here. That being said, we are finally at a point where we are super stoked with the storage situation, and have found this setup to be very simple but very effective.

It has been a long, slow accumulation over the years. Honestly not as expensive as you might think, we buy a lot of second hand and we DEFINITELY wait for things to go on sale... Still not cheap but we do our best. Thanks for watching!

This is the best I’ve seen of any of the several organizing systems I’ve seen. And, no I’ve not seen the sliding stacking boxes. Also, that many hook things for climbing?! That many backpacks! That many bear cans! That many ski boots! 😂😂😂 one idea you’ve likely seen is a hanging kayak system. Can purchase or dyi
Thank you! We have been deliberating for a while on what to do with the kayaks and hanging them has been an option but we would have to hang them outside, our garage ceiling isn't high enough for them unfortunately.

Amazing video and so inspired to try designing something for ourselves. Is your garage heated? If not, does that impact any of your gear storage decisions? (I live in Canada where garages may or may not be heated)
currently working on redoing my entire garage starting with insulation. I've got 7 bikes, 4 boards, gear galore to organize plus the home gym. My question is about your work station though - How do you like it and would you do anything differently? I currently hate mine as its some board over old cabinets I'm hesitant to get rid of the cabinets but also want something I can actually comfortably do work at / on - similar to you anything from bikes, boards to truck. Yes! We always store our tents in their stuff sacks. We feel that it's the best way to protect them.
Add kids and the storage space needs to increase exponentially as they grow
