If a perfect circle whole catalogue was just Breña, I would still be a fan. But they have like dozens and dozens of even better songs too. They’re out of this world
"Tugging a rhythm to the vision that's in my head, tugging a beat to the sight of you lying" is somehow the filthiest lyric without being technically filthy at all.
One time I encountered someone very earnestly arguing that Thinking Of You had some super deep, emotional meaning, that was in no way sexual, and everyone who saw the song that way was wrong. Did not even attempt to counter argue with that level of obliviousness.
I can't imagine how many hours you put into researching, writing, arranging recording, and editing this series. This album means a lot to me, and I now have an even deeper appreciation of the care and thought that Billy, Maynard, and the rest of the band put into writing and arranging it. Thank you so much!

I'm binging your channel like crazy and it's awesome cause I've discovered A Perfect Circle recently (also discovered Tool very recently, I know it's a little bit late but that's most because their style of music wasn't what it used to be on my playlist) and now I've discovered this channel which breakdowns every song in a very professional but also entertaining way, and your charisma and passion for music is overwhelming! I've been watching so many vids of you since the interview with Geebs, and I love your breakdowns. I hardly know anything about music, but your jokes have made your channel joyous to go through. As a huge Tool fan, that 29 minute mark had me cracking up more than I should've. Amazing series on this album, it made me fall in love with it all over again. Would love some more breakdowns of their other albums. Really wish you had more views, but I think the content that you breakdown is a little deeper than the casual listener would care to go. Honestly, most of it goes over my head, but I love (attempting) to learn the melodic ideas behind my favorite bands. Thank you for being so hilarious, having a great taste in music, and helping the layman understand your music analysis.

I've always found 'Over' to be one of the best outros for an album. Samples of the previous songs are played in the same way as fragments of memory of imperfectly recalled over and over again. Loved this series! I remember some conversation on a message board about "Over" that described the ending as representing the entire album as if it were played from end to beginning at high speed to end back at the beginning at the very last point. A perfect circle back to the start.

On Breña, if you listen closely in the 2nd verse, I'm pretty sure there's another layer of MJK's vocals singing the same thing but in the lower octave. It sounds really cool. But anyway I really enjoyed this series and look forward to more breakdowns! Super insightful.

Dead As History by The Dillinger Escape Plan has a really similar riff to Thinking of You. I’d actually love to see you break down more DEP, even if it’s just one of their alt metal tunes like Milk Lizard, Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants, or Unretrofied. Parasitic Twins would be a really cool one as well.
I'm absolutely loving these videos! There in my preferred genre and are making me a better musician. U might enjoy analysing songs from the queen of the damned soundtrack I highly recommend "slept so long" by jay Gordon and Johnathan Davis 🥰

That high pitch guitar part on “Thinking of You” is likely a Digitech Whammy with some delay, reverb and maybe some modulation pedal like a chorus. At least this is what I hear. If not a Digitech Whammy, according to Equipboard, he uses a couple of multi-effects units that will likely have all those effects built in
