The Civic being a stick shift, maybe he stalled it pulling out and didn't have enough time to restart it and accelerate. None of us were there. I hate when people blame things on cell phones. Yes, they cause a lot of accidents but they are not always the culprit. Again, none of us were there so it is hateful to make assumptions that the person wasn't paying attention or that he was an illegal as some of the comments further down in the thread have stated. If he was, does that mean he deserved to die such a horrible death? We all make mistakes. Fortunately most mistakes can be reflected on and realized that they were indeed mistakes. I see the cross for Jasmin, too. It's so sad.
My guess is someone in a large enough vehicle was making a right turn and happened to block the deceased's vision of the big rig. These dedicated right turn lanes are great at reducing rear-end accidents of people turning making right turns off of higher speed roadways, BUT numerous fatal and serious high speed accidents from drivers like the Honda driver making lefts onto these higher speed roadways. I watch several dashcam compilation channels, and there are numerous such accidents caused by people making lefts whose vision is blocked by drivers turning right heading towards them. It's like a 'perfect storm' of blocked vision. Ultimately it is a driver's individual error for not waiting extra seconds to make sure this type of situation is not going to happen to them.
I'd assume it was hookworms or roundworms, they can eat your brain & our OSSF Directors nor the Floodplain Administrators can define on paper what a 'Comprehensive Drainage Plan' is.

The relatively new(er) phenomenon of creating dedicated right turn lanes from major, higher speed roads onto side roads has helped reduce rear-end higher speed crashes caused by people not paying attention to the driver in front of them making rights, but has given people pulling out of or making lefts from the side roads a major visual block from the traffic making rights heading towards them. If a large enough vehicle is making a right, it can create optical illusions of the vehicle going straight if they happen to be at just the right angle and distance. Happens a lot on those dashcam compilation channels. Of course, it is ultimately up to the driver pulling out to wait for all traffic, especially for large vehicles making rights which might be creating an optical illusion that the main lane(s) is (are) clear to make a left or pull out and make a right.
People just need to pay attention and look both ways and not try to beat the car that is coming looks like that’s what happened seeing those skid marks he try to beat the 18 wheeler

@@georgespalding7640 Probably blocked vision from someone making a right. The truck was probably at the correct angle where it couldn't be seen. The way to avoid this is continue to wait at the stop sign until the right turning vehicle has passed and there is not the possibility of a 'hidden' vehicle.
They need to drop the speed limit in this area. 2 fatal accidents in a month at that intersection. A couple signs could easily save a life (or lives) there.
