Hello master David Bao. Thank you for sharing your tai chi with people. I see a real tai chi teacher when I see their teaching . Lots of fake tai chi coming out of America. They copied your hand and feet movements and they claimed they know tai chi and they wanted to teach tai chi, funny enough people follow and learn their fake tai chi.
I saw another instructional video where the wrists and backs of the hands were placed on the mid/lower back during the walk. Do these different hand positions have different significance?
I prefer placing hands in front of dan tien as it helps focus the energy in that area. Another reason is that shoulders are relaxed when placed in front of body. Qi can flow easily in body when shoulders are relaxed.
@@davidbaoyh Thank you for this explanation. It is very helpful. I really enjoyed this hand placement for my practice the other day and was curious. Learning from home with out someone I can talk often leaves me curious about the origins and reasons for some of the hand positions. I am grateful to have resources like this to watch and present questions.
Thank you so much, David! Your lessons are excellent and always helpful.
Glad you like them!

Can you tell me why the men have their left palm under the right and the women the right palm under their left? I've never heard of that before
'男左女右' is practiced due to the energy difference (yin yang) in gender.
@@davidbaoyh Oh I thought so, thanks for telling me!
30 minutes of Tai Chi walking as a warmup for class? That's pretty hardcore!
Total warm up is 30 minutes. Tai Chi walk takes up about 3-5 minutes
