The first Dudek Wingman collaboration video featuring Eugene Cussons and Mitchell Graham (Mitch G) Mitch G Channel - / @mitchg Music Epidemic South ES_Desert Fire Blues - Will Harrison.mp3
Maybe in your next follow on to this Warp 2 video, discuss landing speeds? At any given trim position it's obviously a faster wing than other Dudek wings so unless they've got some design magic going, one would guess the landing speeds will be higher also. I'm unfortunately over rougher terrain than I'd like a lot of the time so landing speeds are a consideration and while I've gotten used to my Hxx, it would sure be nice to have a lower speed landing wing (that still has enough energy for a nice flare). --Wondering where the Warp 2 is in this context. Thanks!
Sure. I did actually mention that in the video and I’m planning on filming a spot landing engine out scenario with this wing to show how hard that is to achieve. Its 29kts approach speed vs the warp 1 at 27kts. But both slow down with the flare amazingly so either way you chew space but never get to try run it out
Hey. TX. I would say the best step up would be Hadron 3. Its fast and more forgiving. Things dont happen as fast as W2. I have been upgrading Mac Colorado pilots to Nucleon 4’s but H3 is the utmost step-up
If I have a dislike of my Samurai (especially in comparison to the Hadron 3s I'd flown) it can be summed up in two words, "Riser Complexity". I'm a technology inclined guy, but I've blown launches because of riser issues. So much going on with PK, return bungies, balance lines, tip steer toggles and their failure prone retainers, 2D system and extra pulleys, all for such a thin margin of performance gain over wings like the Colorado and the Hadron 3. Is it worth it and for what? an extra 5 MPH? Hopefully the Warp 2 has streamlined some of the added elements. 6:1 sure sounds intriguing. My next wing will likely be a Dudek product!
Makes sense. Its simpler risers as its a 3 Liner and you can remove the TST. I think its a value for money bundle that you can use or dont use. For me the Speed is the future unless its a compromise which it is not in this case. This is the best thing since sliced cheese. Love it.
@@therealeugenecussons HMM .all the wing manufacturers need to do is listen to the pilots who fly. they need to make the whole riser setup less complicated. it's even worse when you have unsheathed lines. the knowledge is already there in place. ill give you a example.give it afew years then dudek will come up with a better wing ..question are manufactures milking it ...?
@@TONYPARAMOTOR the unsheathed lines is to make the wings lighter and with less drag. You can order it with sheathed lines as far as I know. I have to admit that the risers with TCT is a bit of a bitch but it IS what we asked for performance wise. The flying experience with TCT is incredible as you have comfortable direction control on full bar in rough air. As for improvements, manufacturers can only make wings that keep up with engines. There was a fear that most engines would not power the full speed range of the Warp 2. The next gen engines will determine the faster wing designs made by AI or the existing computer models
Good for you and your choices but I went looking for you after I first seen your show on Discovery Plus, Escape to Chimp Eden. I was surprised to see you working for a music label. I thought there was light in your eyes when you were working with the chimps. If I'm wrong please forgive me.
Fantastic review! Thank you! I will almost certainly get one, but I have a question about oscillation... My hadron 3 24 m does not oscillate at all. My warp 22 and drift Air 22 oscillate just a moderate amount at full throttle. Given that I would use a warp 2 most specifically for cross country, I'm curious to know what thoughts you had about oscillation. If it is highly likely to oscillate, I would probably get a 24 m. If oscillations were very very minimal, then I would probably go with a 22. Thanks again!
Thanks. No oscillation but if you do get the bump from rough air it might get that and then you just correct with TST. By far the most stable platform I have flown compared to ALL models. Mitch likes it as well but keep in mind he flies very tiny 16 and its hard to keep any of those small gliders from oscillation because they just dont have enough canopy! Send me your all up weight so I can give you best size
ITV - Piper 22.5 also has great speed also tip steering and hits these speeds with incredible stability, just no power attack ! Haven’t flown warp 2 but would welcome a chance. Just curious does the war two have sheathed lines all the way to the wing ?
Already did this comparison test. The Piper is about 5 miles an hour slower depending on the weight loading. If the exact wing loading model is followed that is to say. However as you mentioned the PA is missing and also it not nearly as easy to take off with as the Warp 2 for inflation
hmm, what's the riser laid out like? is it complicated? easier or complicated.? are any of the riser lines unsheathed? if I had a warp 2 and landed on rough ground and not golf grass. how easy would the takeoff and landing be? .unsheathed lines can get mangled up..and they are time-consuming getting riser lines untangled with rough take-off ground. and last but least I like a bit of showboating. I have a viper 4 size 22m and a viper 3. size 26. I weigh all in 150. what size wing would a drifter be advised.? for rolling. sat wingovers...
Hey there. Its only upper cascades that are unsheathed. Its a 3 liner ao not complicated. 17 % reduction in amount of lines from old warp so its simpler. I use rough surface fields and never get problems with this design
Lol. Reaching not an issue. Staying all the way up there for 3 hour race through tough air. Less pleasant but that is what we been doing all these years!! Now it feels like a comfort seat and things are just getting easier!
Great review and love the collab with David Blaine, uh I mean Mitch.
Nice review Eugene (&Mitch).
I am going to do some absolutely filthy things with this wing.
Lol
Good Job
Great review fellas...........thanks for putting it together!!!

Nice downwind launch at 19:04.
Would someone with 200+ hours flying a Macpara Colorado be ready to step up to the Warp2 ?

Great review, I have Nuc XX, but maybe I need to get Hadron 3 for a year first before flying one of these bad boys.
Agreed. That is the perfect stepping stone

Just ordered one, I get in 8 weeks! 18m all up I’ll be around 127kg
Thats a good place to be. Good choice
@@therealeugenecussons it’s gonna be a long 8 weeks though!

I dislike those TST gimmicks, be a man and reach up and pull the toggle dammit :-)
Thank you for the review

I know two guys that have plowed into the dirt flying low with only TSTs in their hands. It almost bit me once. NOT a primary flight control.
It is not anti reflex so you have to be on TST when running full speedbar balls to the wall
I really like them! So comfortable for long XC flights!
