Thanks for sharing X-Ray. This is another fantastic build! For clarity: the X-Ray keycaps will come painted by default (not optional). Meaning the few visible injection-mold "holes" that you see Alex painting, will already be covered up. His stream was meant to be more of a demonstration of the process, and appearance of before and after. Sorry if there was any confusion. Thanks all for your support!

Would love to see these caps on a board with per-key-rgb. Checked the IG and main site and coudn't find any. Imagining it'd look really good.

Just a fun little video showcasing a few things we did over the week, which was taking a look at a 1/1 Moontower and the X-Ray keycaps. We even put them on the Kohaku! Enjoy!

wow those keycaps are sick, would love to make a project with painting each of them individually
"Just have fun with your sh*t"" - exactly how I look at it!! Heck I change keycaps almost daily just because it's fun to do and the board gets a complete different look, feel and sound.
Tai-Hao keycaps have been doing this for their cubic profile for awhile now. Good to see other manufacture starting to pick this up as well.

If you look at the keycaps up close, they seem to have a lot of visible imperfections, not sure if that is the manufacturing process or what, but Im not really feeling that at all.
Sound is immaculate!! Space could be a little higher pitched to match the others.

do you spring swap and film your nixies? I'm thinking of breaking mine in and spring swapping and filming my nixies, but I have no clue what kind of springs I wanna get for them. also super excited for pbtfans x-ray!
for whatever it’s worth, generally the sentiment is that cherry springs are not great and are definitely worth swapping, and most folks film them as well, though a lot of folks like to leave the spacebar switch unfilmed

Correct! But you wont need it for the final caps, they come prepainted.

The tamiya colors you use are usually used with airbrushes so I would use two to tree layers

I mean, he cut the lights off with the RGB on. You can't really see the keycaps RGB underneath
@@sonofulti1337 the moontower only has underglow RGB I believe. So the video wasn't really representative of what the caps would look like on a board with per-key-rgb.

The holes look terrible
I agree. That's why the production models have all of their "holes" painted white by default. You can check out photos of it on the sales page to determine if it looks better to you.
