  • This video will discuss the process of greasing the Dexter EZ lube axle on a Vistabule teardrop trailer. Also talks about how simple it is to maintain and take care of a teardrop trailer. Get your teardrop trailer ready this spring for camping. If you take care of this little trailer the Vistabule teardrop trailer will take care of you.

All well and good that you didn’t want to scratch the jacking point, but you missed the part about spinning the wheel when you add grease.

Thanks, Johnny, very helpful. Where does the grease go between fillings? It must depend on how much it's used, yes? So if it's idle for a season, is greasing still necessary? (Apologies for the completely naive question!) - And did you get good answers to your question re flushing the water line/tank? PS BTW I've got VB #3, built in Bert's garage, probably 35K miles by now, and we still love it.

Hi Steven, Nice to meet you. If the trailer is idle for a season.... There is no need to grease. The grease dissipates from use, heat, some of it gets flushed out(tiny bit). Not many answers yet on flushing out the water tank...Do you have any suggestions, Keep in touch :)

@@johnnybattlelife Well, we did use the Clorox solution, flushing and draining as thoroughly as we could and it seemed to work, i.e., we no longer had any anxiety about what might be growing in the system. I know some would object to Clorox, but...

Thanks for the demonstration Johnny. Q: is this the first time you greased the axle? It begs the question of whether or not the axle was fully greased (by Vistabule) when you first bought the trailer. Perhaps it would be good to grease a new axle to be sure its well greased. I have a similar easy lube Dexter axle.

Are you confident your grease gun was not low on grease? If it was low that could explain why it took so many pumps.

Any pro will tells you, it's way better to remove the bearings, that's an option to do it this way but it's more that if you need to grease it and are missing of time to do it.. Unfortunately it doesn't grease as it should do. Only if you want to extend delay between bearing lubrification in my book.
