There have been allegation arising from this challenge of the contestant Curly suffering from lack of proper medical aid. We're expecting Jimmy to address this soon.
I feel like that’s the least worst thing he’s done considering he was doing it cause he thought Anya was gonna do something crazy in the room with Curly. not worried for Anya ofcourse like he even cares, probably scared that she was gonna “kill Curly”
@@smileguyanimations8776 Additionally: Jimmy had a guilt scene for everyone, INCLUDING THE UNBORN BABY, but NOT ANYA. He doesn't even mention what he did, and we can only understand that's what happened only with a few scenes talking with Curly. He doesn't care about her at ALL. Also: no wonder she was extremely uncomfortable with giving Curly his meds. Having to hold him down and forcibly shove medication down his throat, while he gags and struggles against it all because its AGAINST HIS CONSENT. No wonder she breaks down at that. She's stuck on this ship with him as well, god I can't imagine what was going through her head throughout all of this. And the fact that Jimmy makes fun of her and says "you DID go to medical school, right?" because that's all he sees: her being bad at her job. Disgusting. He sees her as a fuckup. Doesn't even consider her emotions and what's she's going through at the time. You can really tell when you talk to Anya as Curly, and see someone actually care about her. We even get to see her open up a bit to Curly, when they talk about the screen at night. I've been through a somewhat similar situation. The feeling of hopelessness when you can't tell someone what's wrong when something triggers you, and then being told to "stop being sensitive" because no one understands is uncomfortably familiar. I feel so much for Anya, she didn't deserve any of this at all. No one does. sorry for the rant lmao, but it shows how GOOD this game is though.
@what3954 I don't think he was actually feeling guilty about the unborn baby. I personally think it was him worried about the consequences that would come with the baby. I don't think he actually cared about it at all. Which sounds just like how he'd behave. Not caring for what he did to Anya or caring at all for his literal child, just how the consequences of what he did will affect him once people find out.
What I expected the game to be: Weird Horror game about dental hygene and the plaque and other mouth germs were horror monsters trying to kill you. What we got: a masterfully done game where finding the mouthwash officially signaled the beginning of the end. While also being WAY more fucked up than expected.
I absolutely love that Jimmy is not redeemed. I thought with the message of "Our worst moments doesn't make us bad, as long as we take responsibility" would all circle around the fact that Jimmy is gonna be redeemable, learn his actions, see why he did it. But no, his first worst moment was already irredeemable when he took Anya and impregnated her. That was a super conscious choice to realize that none of the chambers had locks, go into a room, and think of doing anything like that. Every single person on that ship deserved to live with Jimmy dying. Everyone had a redeeming trait that at least made them sympathetic enough to understand how we got here, everyone had a line that connects them to their worst moments, all except Jimmy who just disconnected himself and just made himself the "victim of circumstance" aka, I just had to! I love this storytelling...
Curly being put in the cryo pod is perhaps the worst fate he could've been given after all of that. He's in a state where he's barely clinging to a life of absolute agony, with him never being able to live in a complete manner ever again. The poor lad took the brunt of the crash, is blamed for it, kept alive in horrid agony for the purpose of becoming a food supply, is forced to watch Anya take her own life whilst being powerless to stop her, and has his leg force fed to him by the guy he believed was his best friend. Putting him out of his misery is the best thing you could do for him. Jimmy refused to take responsibility all the way into the end, despite his deluded belief that he fixed things. Jimmy self deletes, taking the cowardly way out so that he never has to face the consequences of his actions whilst dooming Curly to a more horrific fate. Either by slow and painful death 20 years later or a miserable life of being half dead. There's no guarantee that Curly would ever be found. If anything, he could wake up 20 years later even worse off, alone in that condition, slowly awaiting death. Even if by some miracle he's rescued, he can't talk. People might assume he damned his crew to save himself and he will never be able to explain himself or what happened. A depressing ending to a depressing story.
Theres actully an fam-made animation of what happened 20 years later. Curly got found before the ship lost all power, waking up in a hospital to be told "it's all over."
I like how the mouthwash despite literally being named after the game is more of a red herring to make you think it’s going to infect them in some way, but is more meant to be the product that brings down their spirits more by making them feel even more expendable along with making the year long journey feel all the more pointless.
Even worse rember that A) anya asks curly why ther rooms arint locked and he answers for safety B) she says she hid the gun case since curtly didint let her have it to proctect herself C) that jimmy crashes the ship only AFTER knowing she pregnant and says what life he could have when they reach earth. Lastly D) they jimmy and Anya werint close before the crash. She specifically didint want to be around him. Its heavily implied jimmy did that and the baby wasint consensual
@@Aiepathy23It’s implied through omission this sorta setting has the medical advancements necessary to save his life. Nobody even mentions how debilitating his injuries are in the sense that they would make saving his life impossible. It’s a small spot of hope in an incredibly depressing tale.
The fact that Phil almost immediately places the twist with Jimmy is so satisfying. The way he notices that you're sitting in the co-pilot's chair when you crash the ship as soon as the information shows itself. The way every interaction with Jimmy makes him more suspicious. "Imagine getting blamed for crashing the ship, and the guy that actually did it just looks at you and shoves painkillers down your throat..." Augh. Can't believe he hit the nail so hard on the head just an hour into the game lol
I just realized when Anya killed herself, she didn't just consumed painkillers, she also consumed mouthwash (in another scene she was contemplating whether to drink mouthwash or not, I guess she did it after all), that's why in the birthing scene it was referencing that quote from the mouthwash commercial, Jesus Christ this game man.
God I so love this game. Love the way it played with your perspective, making the decisions seem YOURS until they aren't, and you slowly realize you've been watching a manipulative asshole doom his entire tripulation to get away scot free. It's just so peak.
I think you misinterpreted swansea a bit, he killed Daisuke (sorry if I spelled that wrong) because the kid was suffering, and he knew everybody was going to die in the ship, so he most likely wanted him to have a fast death. Daisuke was a ray of sunshine in Swansea's old, miserable life, in his own words, "a good kid trying his best".
If I had a nickel for every time you had to drug someone with medical alcohol to get an object in a game. I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Not sure if anyone said it yet, but it’s implied that Anya was SA’ed by jimmy… that’s why during one of the flashbacks had her asking why are their no locks on the sleeping quarters… (in theory)
man, this game was something else. i didn't expect it to go as deep as it did at first glance. the story, the characters, the atmosphere, the monsters, the symbolism, even the transitions between one part of the story to the other, all of them combined left me actually speechless. bravo, devs. 👏👏
This exceeded all my expectations. The story, visuals, audio design, all extremely good. This game genuinely moved me, now I need some time to process it (and watch a lot of essay videos on this, became it deserves it). Amazing stream, more of this please
"If all of that is true.... then why are you still concerned with him?" Anya doesn't appear in Jimmy's psychedelic dream sequence outside of her employee card, and even in that her card is mostly obscured by his own. He very clearly feels bad for Daisuke's death, i think it's more arguable if he feels bad for Swansea, and at the end i think the only person he cared about was Curly(even if it was in his sick way). But Anya was the first person he wronged, even before the ship crashed, and he doesn't even think about her once, he feels more regret about the death of the fetus. She was nothing more than an object to him
Also, I got to point out, in the dialogue with Anya before she kills herself, she says that Jimmy told her to do this. I don't think he just directly told her to kill herself, she said he wasn't angry after she told him she was pregnant and I think that'd qualify as angry. I think he directly told her to abort the baby. And Anya's followup of "Did you think I wanted this?" shows that she obviously didn't want to carry her rapist's child, but there was nothing she could do. Pony Express only gives them the supplies for one communal birthday a trip, I highly doubt they had any form of abortion care. With Anya saying to Jimmy that she doesn't want this despite what he thinks, I think Jimmy believed that Anya was keeping the baby to spite him to ruin his life. He's so cold and cruel to her while you play as him. Crashing the ship was his plan to remove that problem
I was expecting this to be a weird idle gimmick game that had vibes similar to Arctic Eggs and Buckshot Roulette, not a well crafted moral narrative experience about taking responsibility and fixing your mistakes! God damn. Please support the dev, this was amazing!
The title of the video is false advertising. Because at the end, *Jimmy doesn't take responsibility.* He does one thing that he thinks will absolve him of his guilt that will just cause Curly more unnecessary agony and takes the coward's way out through suicide.
Personally, when I read the line of taking responsibility, I think it applies to every single thing of this game. Daisuke's stagnation until his mom forced the internship, Swanseas endless drinking that endangers Anya, Anya's refusal to see things to the end and taking Curlys only source of relief, Curly not addressing Jimmys horrible actions and hurting everyone in the process, and Jimmy being the source of all the pain here and refusing to address any of it until nothing else can be. Even the Pony Express itself refuses responsibility, leaving these crew members to die in space alone because they don't have any usage. Months and months and months pass but no rescue actually arrives. At the very end, when Jimmy talks to Polly, I think the horse is meant to represent god, and god itself as the steam page says, is not watching. Even god refuses its responsibility. How terrible, how wonderfully awfully terrible this game can be.
Not to mention the double meaning with Jimmy, where he believes "taking responsibility" to mean taking the captain's role, when really, he should take responsibility by admitting to his actions. That phrase is multifaceted for sure
I don't think we can blame Anya about not "taking responsability" when her pregnancy was the outcome of SA, she never wanted any of that or was something she caused, to imply she did is kinda gross :/
Well if anyone finds curly it will be assumed that he caused all this then entered the chamber to save himself effectively dooming him to the villain narrative which is what curly says in the space fever dream portion. Also for any confused, it is implied Jimmy raped Anya due to the comment on the "no locks on the sleeping quarters" and she told curly but curly, wanting to believe his friend and being way to nice of a person, tried to talk to Jimmy about it instead of reporting it. Which is why curly comments about having already taken responsibility as him taking responsibility is taking the brunt of the injuries and the blame. Even though, Jimmy deserves the responsibility he instead pushes it entirely on Curly. Curly isn't entirely blameless but he got worse punishment then the man that truly deserved it most.
My personal interpretation is that Curly wasn't trying to defend or hear out Jimmy, but rather that he knew Jimmy would turn violent when confronted. So he wanted to keep Jimmy calm until they made it to earth and they could take care of him without putting Anya in further harm. But that's just how I saw Curly's actions.
@@jewel4242 seen people theorize that Curly had coveret up for Jimmy before and knew he was an unstable individual, but not sure how much that theory holds
@@jewel4242 I don't know, with the scene where curly confronts Jimmy, the handpat on his arm just reminded me of too many things. It's like a motion that signals "you know what to do" it's like the action of a man that expects leniency from the person he did it to. If he was afraid of actual trouble I don't think he'd be comfortable doing what he did in that scene.
@@purgatorysan9381 That's fair. I just view it from a narrative angle, where the whole story is how Jimmy's actions and failure to take responsibility for said actions harms innocent people around him. I feel having Curly, the man who was kept on the brink of death for months, blamed for the entire thing, and cannibalized, be partially at blame (not turning Jimmy in earlier if this is something he's done before) would slightly undermine that. But that's just my interpretation, I see why people think Curly was protecting Jimmy.
Man this game was alot more disturbing and fcked up then i excepted. Really good horror sections aswell. Cannot wait for tommorows stream! Jimmy is like actually the worst.
I doubt this is said often, but thank you to whoever does the chapters on the vods. Your work isn't unappreciated. (I'm pretty sure it's you Phil, but I'm not 100% so...) Edit: I'm at 1:20:20 and since they brought up the alcohol content of the mouthwash. I'm betting a certain character (even though it's early-ish in the video, don't want to name them for spoiler reasons) is going to enjoy the refreshment on themselves. Edit #2: I was wrong :(
The moment the horse appeared at 3:33:24 my medicine alarm went off and I think this game may be fucking with me the way I thought my fucking meds were a part of it
I was so excited when Phil noticed the cockpit seating arrangement, like, "Wow, he's the only one that I watched so far who noticed that." But then it got completely crushed when he said rust is fungus 😂
Funny thing, recently I had to actually STOP using mouthwash altogether. My mouth just got chemically burned because my skin is really sensitive and reactive. So this situation would probably just kill me. (Also there have been some concerns that extensive mouthwash usage can increase the risk of developing dementia...) Mouthwash is my mortal enemy. ALSO- WHEN I CATCH YOU JIMMY- WHEN I CATCH YOU
the cartoon horses thing is very misconstrued within the fandom because its a very uncommon thing to see portrayed in media. Jimmy said he was attracted to cartoon horses, to subtly jab that he was coming onto anya, which is something people do in workplace culture. it's to work around what you want to actually say. he was trying to imply things to anya, which she didn't consent to (which, obviously he didnt care about). polle, in my theories, is metaphorical to the parts of anya his brain is FORCING him to see, which is why the posters are so frequent, which is why there was a horse baby in the womb. which is why polle was the one to confront him, not any of his friends, he wouldn't've listened to the person who would actually tell him any of that if she had the guts to. anya is the horse.
I’m sorry bro, but the idea of you thinking that rust is a fungus will haunt me 😂. Like that’s a thought I’ve never heard before. Then you added on that you thought that it was a moss, which means you thought both of them were a fungus. Chat was flabbergasted lol Adding onto the fun facts, moss is not a fungus but is instead a plant that preforms photosynthesis! Fungi are interesting because they are neither plants or animals. They’re literally a secret third thing lol. The way fungi get energy is more similar to animals rather than plants since they decompose things! They get their energy from other organisms, not the sun. So in the end, rust is just a form of metal after a long term chemical reaction with oxygen, and moss is just a regular plant (unlike fungi which are more like people than plants when it comes to energy). Amazing stream filled with sillies and The Horrors guys!!
Not gonna lie, Curly’s Burnt & Bandaged form kinda looks like that creature that’s always used for the Russian sleep experiment creepypasta. Prolly cus of the bandages and visible teeth & eye.
This game gives me strong vibes to "The Tell Tale Heart" A nephew living with his wealthy and successful uncle and taking care of him, all while he looks at him with 1 big, unblinking eye, only to chop him up and hide him under the floor boards"
fun story: in my old middle school there was a yearly trip to dc for the kids who could afford it and had good grades, the teachers who were chaperoning the trip had to stop at walmart to pick up something and let the kids buy anything they needed, some kids bought a shitton of mouthwash, and they all gathered together that night to get wasted on the mouthwash. they then banned unsupervised shopping on trips from then on lol
1:38:55 no?,, overdosing is not fun practically in any case both cause of the effects of the medications and your body not reacting well to yk.. things being wrong on top of it
44:44 Fun fact, my mother is an np that specializes in pain management, the highest prescription she's ever given is about 8 milligrams, going much higher than 10 will start to cause some nasty side effects so this is actually pretty accurate
A few things I want to comment on. Now I'm not sure, but I heard that alcohol with 14% is equal to Whiskey but I'm not 100% sure about that. Second, when Jimmy says "thanks for that" to poor Curly, Dude... you're the one who tried to crash the ship you have no one to blame but yourself. Finally.... anyone else think Jimmy is a little of a Yandere? The way he seemed so obsessed with Curly and all that. I'm sure I'm overthinking it but I can't help but think that.
5 seconds in phil youre supposed to use mouthwash last because you arent supposed to rinse after mouthwashing, it stays on your teeth and does the bugs bunny thing
Phil, they probably wouldn't let curly die, cause what would they do with decomposing body on a broken ship. If you are in space you can't just throw it outside i assume.

How would he enter the pod with no limbs???
Remember when using mouthwash SPIT IT DONT DRINK IT
but swansea from mouthwashing told me to
I doubt this is said often, but thank you to whoever does the chapters on the vods. Your work isn't unappreciated. (I'm pretty sure it's you Phil, but I'm not 100% so...)
Edit: I'm at 1:20:20 and since they brought up the alcohol content of the mouthwash.
Moral of the story: use mouthwash or an asteroid is going to hit you.
ngl i did not expect much of this game at first, this was a very pleasant suprise tbh, can't wait to see what phil's trumpcard is tomorrow
I love that phil got one of the twists of the game in like the first hour
I’m sorry bro, but the idea of you thinking that rust is a fungus will haunt me 😂. Like that’s a thought I’ve never heard before. Then you added on that you thought that it was a moss, which means you thought both of them were a fungus. Chat was flabbergasted lol
Adding onto the fun facts, moss is not a fungus but is instead a plant that preforms photosynthesis!
Amazing stream filled with sillies and The Horrors guys!!
i guess il be washing my mouth with soap instead of mouthwash tonight.
Phil thinking that rust and moss are fungi make me think, what does he know
Man… I thought this game was gonna be some kind of shitpost. God I was wrong
Wow... What a game, everything is just pain.
I will never look at mouthwash the same again
Not gonna lie, Curly’s Burnt & Bandaged form kinda looks like that creature that’s always used for the Russian sleep experiment creepypasta. Prolly cus of the bandages and visible teeth & eye.
Chat Curly after crash is my fav character cus i love to draw him.
Wholesome game for reminding me to clean my teeth 😊
Honestly. Thats now my favorite psychological horror game now. This is peak.
I clap 👏👏👏
This game gives me strong vibes to "The Tell Tale Heart"
A nephew living with his wealthy and successful uncle and taking care of him, all while he looks at him with 1 big, unblinking eye, only to chop him up and hide him under the floor boards"
Me when I'm a better Silent Hill game than anything Konami put out in years
fun story: in my old middle school there was a yearly trip to dc for the kids who could afford it and had good grades, the teachers who were chaperoning the trip had to stop at walmart to pick up something and let the kids buy anything they needed, some kids bought a shitton of mouthwash, and they all gathered together that night to get wasted on the mouthwash. they then banned unsupervised shopping on trips from then on lol
1:38:55 no?,, overdosing is not fun practically in any case
both cause of the effects of the medications and your body not reacting well to yk.. things being wrong on top of it
44:44 Fun fact, my mother is an np that specializes in pain management, the highest prescription she's ever given is about 8 milligrams, going much higher than 10 will start to cause some nasty side effects so this is actually pretty accurate
Just like Phil said, I’ll never look at mouthwash the same way again.
Ok. Noted. Don't drink mouthwash
This is such a good game dude I'm actually obsessed with it
5 seconds in phil youre supposed to use mouthwash last because you arent supposed to rinse after mouthwashing, it stays on your teeth and does the bugs bunny thing
Barotrauma if it was about interpersonal relationship
nah
@@Mwright4444 trur
Well that was something i did not excpect. Nice :3
Well... I have no words for this
So does that mean that Phis will play the "How the fish is made"?
Phil, they probably wouldn't let curly die, cause what would they do with decomposing body on a broken ship. If you are in space you can't just throw it outside i assume.
They put At Dead of Night's Jimmy in a Signalis Spaceship and thought it would be a good idea
Remember to always use protection unless you want to be stuck in space with tons of mouthwash
taking responsibility? truly phils worst nightmare
1:29:07 WAIT does it work if you add the cake first?? I NEED TO KNOWWWEE
I am never using mouthwash again 😭
This was great
What is the music from the beginning of the stream?
How did you guess that?
Phil, take responsibility
3:33:00 oh my god .
