The creator of this video doesn't know Airedales. We had one as kids, and I've had two. They're protective but friendly as long as you tell them the other person, dog, whatever is ok. They're smart and great with kids. I miss Duchess, Sophie and Rue, and I'll be getting another new Airedale soon.
I have had airedales for over 50 years! I gre up with them and they are so loving, especially with children, loyal, funny and crazy....in a good way. I can't imagine my life without one. Simply the best. 💯
I had one that fought off 4 of my neighbor's dogs by herself because they attacked me. The dogs charged me. The leader of the pack was a Blue Healer. My Airedale came from behind me and put herself between me and the other dogs. The first one to run from her was the Australian Shepherd. Next was the Blue Healer. Then the Doberman turned tail and ran. The last dog paid the price for the Blue Healer. It was a Border Collie. By the time I got her off the Border Collie, there was blood everywhere and none of it was my Airedale's. She would have rather played with those dogs than fought with them, but from then on she made sure they stayed on their side of the fence. Airedales love to play, but more than that, they are fiercely loyal, agile, tough as nails, game fighting protectors with very strong jaws, that watch over children and family.
I love our male Airedale he is very intelligent and gets rough with our standard poodle but he is such a great dog to have around they protect their families and loving as well : they have very interesting history as well. We will have another some day ❤️
Airedales make fantastic companions. They provide so much love and entertainment. An Airedale is a clown, a friend and companion to the entire family 😻😻😻
whoever did this video knows little to nothing about airedale terriers. 1-a airedale has never been been known to start a fight but will finish it. 2- airedales are so tough by the time you realize it has a medical condition that needs to be looked at it needs to be immediate. 3- they were used by both sides in WW1 to carry first aid supplies and messages
Agreed we have had two Airedales we miss them both. They were smart, courageous and loving. My son moved in for a while and they had a mix about 8 lbs of terror and Roscoe would just try to ignore him. One day at a dog park he had enough and got into it with the little dog. He had him pinned to the ground, mouth around his neck. When we separated them there was blood, it was Roscoe's, the little mutt had bit his mouth. There was no harm and for a couple days the little one stayed away, but he soon forgot and again wanted a piece of Roscoe. I was glad when he got a place of his own.
Great dogs! On our second one. They are not low maintenance as they need grooming; but fiercely loyal, smart, and love to clown around. As others have mentioned, they don’t look for trouble with other dogs, but seem to hold their ground if they need to. Ours is not the best with little kids, mostly because he hasn’t been around them and our other little rescue dog is not kid-friendly (the little dog is not always the best example for him)
Just reading this now. I am 65 and I'm onto my 6th Airedale as I grew up with them. He's 11 and still full of energy. Hope you're having fun and getting lots of love from yours.
There is 3 kinds of Airdales the short version ,, the other orang,,then ther black one they are paired together is very pouerfull ,,they are smart,,crafty, sneaky,,,,but very protective,,which I like,,my Airdale weighs in 110 lbs he rules,,I love him,,and he loves me ,,,what more could you want
Is the black one not the Black Russian Terrier aka Chornyl Terrier. Airedale certain;y went into that breed. The Oorang was bred for size for hunting but unfortunately inbred and excessively aggressive with few of the good traits such as guarding. They've largely been bred back with regular Airedales to get a better temperament, not a separate breed now. Our previous Airedale was 47kg and taller than a German Shepherd.
Good video. I’m looking for a male puppy for 2022. My neighbour had one when I was a kid. We had labradors and spaniels. But I always had a special love for that Airedale. My big dog, Rottweiler, American Pitt cross past away this summer and that’s going to be a difficult hole to fill. But I think the King of Terriers could do that for me. 😚
Big clowns, love to entertain people. Have two females age 8 and 5, the 8 year old still plays like a 6 month old puppy! Had an Oorang Airdale male before these two, like the standard size we have now better.
Simply the craziest, funniest, most loyal friend you could ask for! The best!
I have my first Airedale and he is amazing. Actually, he is my service dog. There is no other breed fo me!!!🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎
Having owned Airedale Terriers I think they are amazing! Very head strong and quite naughty and cheeky, but very loyal and have a wonderful character.
Had 1 when I was a child. BEST dog EVER! Miss you Dazy!

I love this dog so much it is a very good 🐕.
We love our 7 month old airedale, love the Terrier side of him! We are older but we have always had Scotties.

Airedale’s will always finish a fight. Rarely begin one.

Great Information - I've got an Airedale - Poodle mix - this explains a lot

Very true. I've had 3. Never a dull moment. Intelligence is off the scale. My mother had one that could open latched doors.
Are they really not good with cats? I have 1 cat and would LOVE an airedale but I know terriers are just generally not good with cats.
@@destineyroxburgh3993, if you get a pup and raise the pup with a grown cat, the pup will grow up to be a loyal friend and protector of the cat.

I love my 15 month old rescue baby however awaiting results of her echocardiogram
Once you have had an Airedale it is very difficult to go for another dog.
💯getting my 4th in 20 years. ( my 3rd is 10 ) can’t wait.
Thank you I loved .
OMG we are 67 yrs old & just got an airedale, hope we haven't made a mistake.....

Would love to have one but can't find anyone who breeds them around here.
I disagree with a lot of your rankings Airedales a very friendly they’re good with people of all ages
You are wrong, zero low points, with an Airedale. Everything is a ten or higher. Thanks from.St. Paul Minnesota.
Last question was;
Do you like airedales?
I know for sure the maker doesn't!
