- Our industry will do anything to win awards - whether it’s embellishing results, creating dogwalker campaigns, or faking entire projects. “Awards Gone Wild” pokes fun at the awards obsession of our business by showing what would happen if other professions resorted to the same tactics that agencies use to win.
This is absolutely hilarious, and will probably win an award.
Dear Zulu Alpha Kilo, It's not us. It's you.
Brilliant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So funny...
I love the inside joke of "dog walker" ads .. that's like a jargon that the creative industry has for advertising that's blatantly made up purely for the reason of winning awards. But you know what's more wilder than that? Going to the length of creating these videos for "Agency of the Year" that talks about dog walker ads. You're just feeding the beast.
I don’t follow this at all, but I’m guessing it’s about how competitive the third sector (ie not for profit, volunteering and social enterprises) has become and how it’s more about virtue signalling and applying for awards to create greater recognition to increase funding and support in direct competition with other NFP organisations. It’s a cut throat industry these days and organizations in this space are even more ruthless than those in traditional economy and end up so removed from their stated goals and targets that ultimately they are just a figurehead for a brand of do-gooders who are surprisingly ineffective at doing any good. Most of the budget goes to their salaries and branding their organisation rather than meeting the societal need they were established to address/solve.
It's satire on advertising agencies' meaningless awards (a business in itself as you must pay for the award entry)
Cringe
That's not really funny.
