Leveled a beastmaster as my first online character these last couple of days.... Then I get 2 Tempest Maws in my first monolith runs. Here we go again. Had a basic idea form in my head but you made the idea really clean here, great vid.
LOVE this build. Only change I made was to replace gathering storm with warcry for stun/berserking. I use tempest strike as my main right click, jump in with fury leap, drop warcry and a storm totem, and go ham. Works like a charm. :)
Pushed and got stuck around 250 corruption with this build as a general guide. Been noticing that my mana and wolves' survivability have been my limiting factors at this corruption. Hoping to find ways to keep it pushing. Thanks for the build!
Same thing is happening to my Necro builds at almost an identical spot. Glad you enjoyed the build and I'll certainly update if I find a way to keep minions alive for either of the builds beyond that point.

Cool, finally a build with minions where it looks like they are useful without fully speccing into minions. I might try playing this if they don't fix the bug that makes druid/lich invisible after leaving any shapeshift form till the end of the week.. Or maybe even today, who knows

You might be able to get storm crows to even fit if you want full ranged. I'll have to look it over and see if a ranged version is viable but great idea, thanks!
Updated I'm leveling it and really enjoy it. Few questions: 1) You seems to have remaped the spells keys. What skill is on your right mouse botton (Tempest strike I guess)? 2) I have a hard time to undertand the role and mechanic of Gathering storm. Mind explaining it a bit please? 3) Just curious, but why going with Wolves rather than Storm bats which are doing lightning damage right from the start? Also, any kind of build progress, as stated in your description), would be welcome. thanks

Great build! Im having so much fun with it right now, just hit 30. Is there any self healing that takes place or am i reliant on health pots, regen and mitigation?
Am I missing something here? As soon as I skill into "Excited Bolts", my mana is eaten up very rapidly, in any situation where there are a lot of enemies on screen. If often end up running around with no mana, unable to use my other abilities. My current mana is 258, a bit low.
What was your corruption limit for this build... were you able to get into the 300's with this build? Just curious as I am cool with a build getting me to the 300's then changing later.... or working on it to make it stronger.... but as of now just curious of the corruption you pushed with this build
I didn't push that high yet, and this gameplay is between 100-200. I've been crossing my fingers for some weapons with LP. Having played a lot of builds I really think LP will be needed to push this past 300.

Do you have any updates for past 80? How's it going? I'm 74 right now and blowing through Echoes, but I don't think I could handle too much above maybe 10 levels higher than me at the moment.
Atm, I do not have an update for this. I was also working on a hybrid build using Spriggan Form which I might show first. Similar to the older squirrel builds if you're familiar with them it's likely legendary potential with good affixes will be needed to push this build to higher corruption. It should be pretty smooth sailing through the first set of empowered monoliths if I had to venture a guess based on my experience with other builds.
Hey there! GIving this build a go right now cuz it looks so fun. I just wonder would a lightning wolves build work with beastmaster spec too to focus more on minion damage or do you need to go deep into shaman for some mandatory passives?
You can set this up for Beastmaster. In fact, I did that originally. I ended up liking the added effects from Storm Totem and felt Shaman was neglected a bit, so I went this route.
Why can't I have more wolves than one? I'm at level 45, and I have everything in the wolf tree to have more of them, but they don't summon. I always have only one. What am I doing wrong?
Cool build but the Primalist passive tree doesn't work. You only have 14 points in the first three skills so you are unable to put any points in Wisdom of the Wild. Please help.
Since you mentioned it can be used with the squirrels, I gotta ask. Are you planning to showcase them? Challenge might be the lightning which might not scale with the squirrels compared to the lightning wolves. Nevertheless, this build already looks solid by itself.
I swapped back and forth a bunch of times for testing purposes. You can just plug and play the Helmet without any other tweaks to the build. Fury Leap seems to be bugged with squirrels atm and they often just run off screen instead of coming with you. In retrospect I should have done a split screen comparing the two on a boss for people to see. I am actually planning another squirrel build this week (doesn't use lightning) and will include footage of the lightning squirrels there as well for people to see.
great build been looking for this exact thing, i dont understand the loot filter tho it hide's basically everything and it hides some skills you use but shows level of tornado and avalanche ? the loot filter got me confused
Glad you liked the build. Sorry about that, I adjusted the filter and removed a couple skills. I had been experimenting with a couple setups to finetune the build and forgot to remove them. The filter in general is pretty tight as we really only benefit from Lightning Damage, Elemental Damage, Attack Speed, Minion Damage (to a degree) and the skills we use. You can always loosen it a bit if you prefer.
For some reason, I find my shaman to be incredibly squishy. He is level 80 and struggles in normal mono's whereas my rogue/warlock/Runemaster were dong 100+ corruption at my level.
Interesting because they have layers of mitigation in every passive tree. If you're using the Frostguard runic invocation that's pretty powerful defensively as well so might explain some of it.
Did they nerf this build to the ground? I came back to the game after a few months, respecced the passives (Because the passive tree was reset), and I just can't get through a level without dying. Is it just me, have I lost the hang of the game, or is this build nerfed?
Gathering Storm -> Tempest Strike. The number of times you need to use Gathering Storm will vary as you unlock more skill points and minions. At final stages you may only need 1-2 Gathering Storms to begin an echo and then your pets will maintain the stacks.
Just reaching empowered on this character atm. If there is a lack of coverage for builds, I'll show them as they approach to help share combinations people might be interested in. Having played many builds, I'd suspect this will reach around 200 corruption before the boss kill speed becomes quite slow. It will need a way of scaling the lightning damage a bit further and if I find one along the way I'm happy to update with another video.
Tried this build on, and it's the most fun I've had since playing. And that's saying a lot.

As opposed to some other builds that can get there more easily, you'll likely need some legendary potential to scale the build to 300 corruption.

You'll get some leech eventually which really helps. Avarice (quest reward gloves) can fill the role early on as well.

Make sure you didn't take a node in the passive tree that limits you to one companion.

It's a blast and definitely one of the more fun builds I've played so far.

why use tempest strike and gathering storm? does the talents in gathering storm still apply eaven when not using it?
Gathering Storm allows you to buff Storm Bolt in several ways even when not using it.

I'm always really fast out of mana.
