My good sir, I salute you for this incredible work. Some of my favourite players are: Carnesechi (gk) very well rounded and reliable. Bradley locko (left wing back) cheap with good potential and consistent. Eric Martel (DM) same reasons as Locko. Aursnes, he plays everywhere. Super consistent. João Rego is my favourite Wonderkid, he always have a good development. And that's it. I have issues with my strikers in FM24, the way I play they don't score too many goals but they are always involved in the build up and get many assists or are good decoys. And the tactics don't matter. 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 3-4-3 with wingers or 2 AM. Usually my offensive minds or wingers are my top scorers. But the striker I had most success with was Ryan Francisco. Damned kid developed to be a modern day Romario.
Great video and a really interesting approach. I'm happy to see Giovanne Simeone top the Goals XI - he was monstrous in Ligue 1 for me. Conversely, it's not surprising to see Manu Kone in the Red Card list - I hadn't had a red card for 4 seasons, I sign him and he gets 2 in 8 games.
@@CowardEdd Simeone is the very definition of prolific. Incredible output. That Angry Bois XI looks fun, too. 0.6 red cards per 90. That's more than 1 every two games!!!
the goat of my team is Benjamin Sesko. I bought this guy when he was 28 for approx 80M he has ever since dominated any team he comes by, in 2032 he made 96 g/a with over 80 goals while also breaking the record of goals scored in a champions league run with 19 goals.
This was super interesting! I couldn't help but think though... how much of this is influenced by the quality of players around them? i.e. put Haaland at Ipswich and yes he'll still score, but not nearly as much, and so will get a lower average rating (harder to score without KDB setting you up). I guess you might argue the possession adjusted stats are a rough proxy for team quality?
Absolutely, output is always going to be a measure, to some extent, of the entire team. That's why this concludes with a focus on creating a team that is better than the best in the aggregate. Those teams based on goals, expected assists, etc... alone will lack the balance to be effective. But, by addressing all areas equally, you are giving a team the creativity and the goalscoring chops to become an absolute force. In theory, at least. Possession adjusted metrics help level the playing field a little. More in terms of seeing how things would be if all teams have an equal share of the ball, and therefore equal opportunities to perform each action, but team quality will still have an impact. There are further things that can never truly be captured through stats alone. A player who excels in Man City's system, that needs to be able to sustain possession and break down low blocks, isn't necessarily going to excel in Everton's system, which operates that low block and looks to exploit space on the counter. And vice versa.
I know and I'll do better next time. Although it is worth pointing out that Sporting's English website acknowledges that they are known as "Sporting Lisbon" abroad.
I would love you to try and build the best formation with my current man United team haha.... Best 11, onana, fresneda, todibo/diomande, Martinez, Matteo Ruggeri, Harry amas - zaire emery, Khéphren Thuram, kobee mainoo, mason mount, rashford, Garnacho, amad, regen 4 star wonderkid winger creator, hoiland, Vitor Roque, Viktor Gyökeres.... I can't fit them all in 😂 so we're going with a 4-2-2-2.... Either wingers or amcs behind 2 advanced forwards... Always the 2 are dm/s .... Love your skin btw! Any updates on the horizon or is it set now? 🙏🏼
No further updates planned for the skin. Only you can assess your squad! I don't have your save. I don't know how your players are performing in it. But it's not hard to do. Look at your tactic. What do you expect from your players in each position. What should they do in possession? What should they do out of possession? Which stats show that? Just break it down into small chunks. The answers follow!
For the "in aggregate" best XI. Isnt it possible to add a normalized score for each metric and sum it up? That way you would only need to take the highest normalized sums of players, as that accounts for each metrics rather than each individually
A good idea! Not the approach I'd take, though, as you'd need to essentially create Z-scores for each metric, and it would end up prioritising players who excel in metrics which have a relatively high level of variance. You could then introduce a weighting to try and balance it out, but you are still likely to find certain areas where the final team is likely to be overall weak. Which sadly defeats the point of being better than the best in each of the chosen metrics.
Llorente is my hero. He deserves to get love from everyone. Despite me having never actually managed him 😂 Morita is a quality player, too. Doing absolute bits for Sporting!
Does anyone feel like the match rating system unfairly scores the types of defenders who do not allow the opposition players to do things that would boost their match rating? ( For example, you have to allow a shot in order to get a blocked shot. You have to open a passing lane in order to win a tackle in a 1v1. ) is their a better way to judge defenders?
There might be a plan to do so. Although there's a lot of added steps to work out: which league do I put them in? Which team do I replace? How do I determine the rest of the squad? And so on...
@@mustermannfm I dunno, there might be complications. If im honest I would just stick them in the premier league as it is the most competitive league and replace a newly promoted side.

Not too convinced by your analysis . I do have a couple of questions: How many simulations did you run ? On fm arena , running atleast 2k simulated seasons is the norm. Are you aware that the physicallity attributes are completely broken in this game ? A team of physical players would be the dream team. The average rating , etc.. is not that relevant. It would interesting to make a dream team based on physicallity attributes alone , then simulating seasons with that team and the team in this video. Anyways , those are my takes...
Outlined in the description: METHODOLOGY I performed 10 full detail simulations of the Top 30 leagues to create a single database to give me insight into player and team performances under the current Match Engine. Set up in real world mode, with the first transfer window disabled. Teams were able to make transfers in January, allowing us to get a sense of what the AI considers each team's areas of weakness. All player statistics were exported for players in active leagues who played over 900 minutes, aggregated and then standardised to per 90 metrics. For this video, I have removed all players outside the Top 8 leagues, and any players who didn't reach the 900 minute criteria in at least 50% of the simulations. All player recommendedations will come from this pool. Before removing those players, their output was used to calculate aggregated data for each teams. This does mean that team data excludes players who contributed fewer than 900 minutes in any given simulation. As such the possession-adjusted metrics are not 100% accurate, but should give a reasonable picture of what actually occurred. So why only 10 simulations? Based on FM's "suggested" limit on database size, analysis of approximately 80,000 players will give a confidence interval of 99%. Anything more than that is entirely unnecessary. So, once we reached that threshold, the simulations stopped. By filtering to only include those who played over 900 minutes, we've already entered the realm of unnecessary, as there will have been plenty of data points below that threshold that could've been used. However, for the sake of videos, I didn't want to be wading through recommendations of players who may have played less than 20 games overall. I am aware that physical attrbutes are perceived to be the meta. That is irrelevant here. As is average rating. That covered the first 3 levels. The basic levels. That played no part beyond that.
