    You guys really do have some of the best parts personnel! They have helped me numerous times when my local Kubota dealership had Kubota pulled from them. I hope they read these comments and hear how many people appreciate their professionalism and expertise when dealing with the dorks on the other end. Keep up the great work!

    Used your parts department to unlimit my L3560. Neil you were the reason and I used your handy list from the video you posted on that model! Wanted to say it was a pleasure working with your guys. They were very patient, took some time getting the cab grab handle, came from Japan. They even had to reference the regular L3560 list for that part number. I live in Georgia and have ordered blades, parts, grease, etc. from you and its always been super fast and easy!

    A good parts guy makes or breaks a dealership. My “local” New Holland guy is amazing. Since they changed the catalogs i have to have him help me find the parts I’m looking for and he always comes through even when it came to getting a injection pump part that NH doesn’t sell separately but a local rebuild shop could order it for me.

    Just Delt with your Parts Department AGAIN. Must say your parts Department is most knowledgeable and helpful.... thats why I'm back here AGAIN. Would have been nice if ya could have thrown in a free Messicks hat... B.T.W. your parts Department bent over backwards to help me find parts for my 30 some year old tractor.

    Great video! I sure wish we had a dealership like Messick’s near us. I’ve ordered filters and parts from you all for the last three years. It’s so nice to just go online pick out what I need and place the order vs going 1.5 hrs to my dealer and risking them not having something I’m needing.

    My best advice as a heavy diesel mechanic is to bring in the part you are looking for, take photos, and have a rough idea of what the part is

    Great video. I am a small engine mechanic. I determined early on that I wouldn’t help the customer guess at what was needed. I can’t take credit for the idea. As I was getting started I chose to go hang out at another shop. They had this posted. Thus, I perceived that it was a good idea. I may have lost some work and sales. But, I can’t be accused of cheating them somehow.

      @wildbill23c 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its a good idea regardless if you are a mechanic or a customer. If you have no idea what's wrong, STOP randomly buying parts, get someone out there that knows how to work on that item and have them diagnose it properly and get the right parts the first time and save yourself the headache and frustration ordering the wrong parts, or worse parts that don't even have to do with the problem. I can generally fix a lot of stuff but I know when to put down the tools and call a professional and oftentimes its really not that expensive to do so.

    Knowing what after market parts and options you have that arn't in the system off the make, model and serial. Did you have some remotes added in? Did you change the connector types? Did you change the style of tires?

    I thought the number one thing you needed to know was how much money is in your checking account LOL. On a serious note, being able to look up parts on your website is very helpful, I try and have the part #'s and make sure it's in stock before I even go in.

    Javier brings up a good point. Many times, on on-line forums, folks will post close-up photos of a part they need help with with no surrounding info. Just seeing a close-up of a bolt does no good in finding a replacement. ;-)

  • @eosjoe565
    @eosjoe565 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good info! So many times we hear folks saying they have a 2019 XYZ thinking that means something when they go to order parts. Even having the model number doesn't always help. I'm not sure if Kubota or New Holland has done this but Deere in their infinite wisdom has chosen to REUSE the same model number on two machines that are totally different.

    • @MessicksEquip

    I did learn something about identifying the right tractor w/the serial numbers verses walking in and saying I gotta 2016 L4701, so thanks for that. While I do like my tractor, I have been less than impressed by my Jonesboro Arkansas Kubota dealership where I bought my machine locally. My last visit I stood in line at parts to buy a gallon of hydraulic fluid for 30 minutes while a fella purchased 2 small stihl chainsaws , then after that lengthy wait decided he did not like the chains that came on them and wanted them changed out right then right in front of the line( just one service guy there) . When I repeated that all I needed was one gallon of fluid this gentleman said I should be more patient.? It went down hill pretty quick from there lol. Long story short , a good supportive dealership is very important. I’ve given my dealership every benefit of the doubt every time I’ve dealt with them but they consistently disappoint me every time unfortunately. I will probably start ordering parts from other dealerships and eat the cost of the freight just to avoid the trouble, thanks, I enjoy your content!

    I tell people to take pictures on their phones of the serial numbers on all their equipment and then hit the "HEART" on that picture...it puts it into the favorites folder on your phone and is easily recalled when you need it at the parts counter or when you call them on the phone!!

  • @SlackerU

    I find my local parts dept takes 2x longer to use than avoiding them altogether. They only carry High-temp grease that my tractor doesn't use at all, they don't carry machined (not punched) washers used for shims, they don't carry metric grease fittings, & besides oil&air filters they never have what I need in stock where I'm paying shipping for something that won't be sent to my home. The only thing they seem interested in is having me search for somewhere else to shop. I guess everyone in my area drives around sloppy machines with owners who never read tractor manuals.

    Top 4 things to know... #1 Don't cry when you get to pay for the parts. #2 You bought it, you own the repair bill. #3 If it's green, it will always cost you. #4 If you show up at 4:55pm on a Friday night, chances are, your gonna see the parts counter crew running for the back door.

    So coming in and needing a dinglehopper and saying well I have a Blue tractor isn't going to help you get me the right dinglehopper what the heck kind of parts counter do you have LOL.
    Many people have no idea how important those data plates are on a piece of equipment to allow someone that needs to repair that equipment in the future to be able to lookup the right parts, the right schematics, etc. Without the model and serial number you may end up with a part that doesn't even go to that particular piece of equipment even though its the same color as the piece of equipment that it does go to.
    I'd even go as far as taking photos of those model and serial number plates and take to the parts counter with you. Sometimes a #1 might actually be an L, or a zero may actually be an O, etc. The guys at the parts counter will know and be able to get the right information.

    In other words you want us to do all the work for you, my local international dealer would look it up in a 10" parts book or in the later years on micro fish, if your computer fails or power or internet you cant sell parts thats the problem now days too much reliability on computers, and no prior experience , used to be parts guys were prior mechanics or end users themselves that knew the equipment in and out, or they would look physically in the parts shelves or on floor stock units.

    • @davidshaw5118
      @davidshaw5118 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Respectfully now, I’m going to have to say you’re entirely missing the point here. You seem to allude to the idea that parts books of today are no more complicated than that of a 1066 or perhaps even, a 5240 Maxxum.
      I can’t even begin to broach that topic in a You Tube comment.
      And, treating your parts guy like Google and being upset when he comes up with the wrong parts... it’s like searching for drill bit retailers with a Google search by typing unicorn horns and being upset when it kicks out bad results. Good I got
      Action from the customer in, good ID on the parts going across the counter.
      If you expect me or others behind the counter to somehow “just know” what you do or do not have on your tractor, you’re in for a rude awakening. 😘 but, if you come to me with a moderate amount of information and research on what your problem is, we can work through it together. I’m not guessing, that’s what part numbers on sticky notes hanging on dart boards is for. You don’t know? I’m throwing a dart.
      You two me they’re all the same? I’m grabbing the first belt I see.
