Earl is awesome! I was just the cab-rider. They get all the credit, and deserve it all and more!

I got to do a cab ride on the New Hope and Ivyland. What a great experience.

I just hope you know who that was that you were interviewing. That man is the real deal when it comes to REAL railroaders. And Mr. Pardini there....knows everything there is about railroading, operating old and new equipment, and restoring old equipment and so forth.... He is the Great Pardini and is very well known and very well respected. A man many look up to including myself.

I hadn't met Earl before but it took about two minutes to figure out that I was in the presence of greatness. He was a font of knowledge and it was fascinating to hear about his experiences running steam with Ross Rowland (for example). One of those rare occasions where you just want to sit for hours and hang on every word.

Ran with him again a couple of weeks ago - my respect for him has only grown. He gave a trainee who was also riding the cab a master class in train handling on wet, greasy rail.

That's one big life sized Atlas 'HO' scale RS1 locomotive hauling two modified tyco flatcars two rivarossi passenger cars and a Life-Like proto 2000 caboose

Like I said Mike you're the best. The sounds of that Alco made me melt off the couch. LOVE IT 😊

I wish there was a way to convey the total experience - feeling the whole engine shake at idle or how loud the turbo was under load. Like Imax or a Who concert!

@@mikechapmanmedia2291 I’ve seen a bunch of Alco videos on here and the way you filmed it to get the sounds is just awesome. But it’s a good thing I know how RS1’s sound and feel so I myself could feel this video. But yeah imax would be a good choice.

Another great video! I hope "Alco Joe" has seen it!

I'm trying to persuade them to do an "engineer for an hour" thing with this engine. Joe might well be first in line!

Interesting how the engineer is on the right side long hood forward. Opposite of GE and EMD. Guess Alco was a steam loco company at heart.

I think the customer could specify which side was the engineer's side.
