    I don't know if it's true, but I read in an old literature that this is how queen bees communicate with each other. The one in the mother cell beeps and if the old mother still answers, the new mother does not come out and waits until the old one leaves with the swarm, and only when no one answers her, does she come out. The same applies to other queens if there are more of them in the hive. The new mother, who is already in the hive, can decide whether to answer them (and go to the second swarm), or kill them, or it can also happen that two mothers hatch at the same time, because they did not know about each other. It is probably quite important that the bee work is well connected so that the vibrations are transmitted well along the work. To know about each other. They even wrote there that if the beekeeper walks by the hives in the evening and listens, he can hear how the queens communicate and can find out that they will swarm in the following days, because they answer each other. But I don't know if it's true.

    I’ve heard this a few times this year in my apiary. One hive had 3 virgin queens running around, so I was able to find them and capture the extras just by listening to them pipe. It’s very cool to hear! 🐝

Sorry I don’t know the proper terminology, but I too enjoyed this very much. I can’t have bees but enjoy your videos when I catch them. I caught one of your lives and had asked if you were also an artist upon seeing the inside of your green house you have such and eye, (and ear) for beauty.

    Can you explain it I am deaf in certain octaves to much rock when I was a kid. Unless it sounds just like birds chirping I heard that. I know its not easy to explain a sound but if I know just what I am listening for and put in my ear buds and turn the volume all the way up. Probably not a good idea but I really want to hear it. Unless this is a practical joke and there is no sound, you guys are mean.

  • @pcelarskisokak
    @pcelarskisokak 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    the singing of queens in a cell is a common occurrence when there are more mature queens in the hive during swarming ... I think it is a matter of excitement and fear of elimination by the competition ... the queen in the queen cell is powerless and the other queen easily kills her with a sting ...although fascinating, queen bees are just as cruel
