Toyotas are great vehicles. I've owned and driven many Toyotas even up to now. They are reliable vehicles and have a good resale value.

      Same here.
She actually thought herself to drive. Once I showed her the basics she kept at it until she figured it out. (Manual)
Now a 3-4 hour journey is nothing to her

Teaching your wife how to drive is good but still she still needs to go and enroll in a driving school that is required by the LTO. The theoretical and driving. Ones she passed the test from the theoretical and the driving lesson that's the time she will be given a certificate that she can get a student permit to drive with the assistance from a non prof driver beside her.

When we moved to Cebu I purchased a new Toyota Conquest. The problem with used vehicles is you don't know how well they were maintained by the previous driver or drivers. Well unless you know the owner and trust him as far as the maintenance. Good luck with the car shopping. I love Toyotas.

just came back from the Phil. and i realized that it is a necessity to get a car if you are in the province. An SUV would be very ideal to have because it is higher specially that it alwasys rain and can easily be flooding in the street. My wife use to drive a small car in the beginning but when she got a Van which is higher it made her more comfortable because she got a better view of other cars near her and she said that that gave her secure and safe feeling.. Since filipinos are family oriented with a big car you can easily bring other people with you and that makes the ride more fun. One reason that a car is a necessity is when somebody is sick you always need a vehicle because the hospital is quite far.So for any emergency and errand purposes a car is always practical to have.A japanese or korean car is better to have than american one because the maintenance is cheaper and spare parts can be easily found.A dual electric and gas motor would be best because you can save half of the gasoline cost.

Get the Toyota Raize it’s good value for money and the riding position is exactly what your wife wants. The sports a bit better but the price difference doesn’t give you much more if you’re on a budget. My friend has one and loves it. It’s very easy to park considering how much space you have inside the car.

I got a Wigo 2 years ago. At 6ft1 I can sit in the drivers seat no problem good lock for turning. Only me and the wife so don’t need more room. Live halfway between Manila and Pampanga. Hour 15 mins in either direction. The other good thing is the wife learnt to drive in this car so a really good beginners car. One thing you must get is a decent set of cameras just in case.

Toyota all day long. I'm kiwi and first car was Toyota station wagon, then Camry and now Corolla. Corolla is 2004 with 359,000km and never been in the garage for repairs. Regular oil change and tyres, Toyota are the best.!

I have not driven a car in almost 12 years. Decided one day just to stop driving. But my wife has a 2019 Suzuki Celerio--one liter/5 speed. She loves to drive. Going somewhere--doing something. We also have a 2000 Toyota Revo suv as back up. For its age in excellent condition with no rust. Since we seldom use it not registered. Maybe take a bunch of people down to the beach which is a 5 minute drive.

Shopping for a new car is one of my favorite pass times, although I rarely do it as I keep my cars very long. Believe it or not: I'm only driving my fifth car here in Belgium over a span of 45 years. As for your question "should I do more of this" (filming in the city or any other place you go), my answer is a definite "yes"! You have a beautiful garden, but some variation is always pleasant. Hope you regain your mobility soon!

Suggestion to you folks, if it is possible do not get dark in color. It is good for safety driving when it’s getting dark to have a light/bright colored vehicle. Pearl white would be ideal.❤

Common problem of car parks and the city is so disorganized with their city planning that’s why different kind of transportation are almost occupying sidewalks and leaves pedestrians fight their safety crossing the road. Most rural towns and cities have similar issues and there no rules on some of them.

😀 I live down south near Hilongos and I taught my wife to drive then she got her license legally from the LTO.
I wanted a Mitsubishi Triton or Strada but the wife found it too large, so we settled on a fully loaded Vitara which has great mileage with fold down seats etc -- it's fully loaded unlike other Suzuki cars.
In the meantime you could buy an automatic scooter with a carry box on the rear.
My wife uses a scooter when I need the car. It's far cheaper than gassing up a car 😊

Hi Adam and Jane, I'm an old Cop, Traffic. The size of the vehicle is irrelevant, they are all the same from a drivers perspective. Small car is no different from a larger car, trust me. Jane will quickly adapt to any vehicle regardless of the size. The Veloz looks the nicer and more roomy. Your choice of course. Yes, about the Pinoy dogs, we had them on Cebu. They can be very vicious towards each other, even from the same litter. Thats strange? What happened with the Montero Sport, did you lose interest in it? Make arrangements with a tricycle driver for personal pickups, offer a higher and more attractive amount and get their cellphone number for when you need them. No hanging around guys? Bob n Lina.

Yaris Cross V CVT would have been better. It's feature packed than the Raize. It has higher maintenance cost though when the time comes that you already need to change stuff like the brake pads as it has disk brakes in the front and rear. The tires are bigger too, so more expensive 😅 I noticed too that the Yaris' suspension isn't comfortable.

A seven seater with ample cargo space would be right. Have also to consider the skill level of your driver with the medium sized high torqued suv. Third maintenance if there are good service shops around besides the dealer who often charge expensive because of the warranty

    • @AdamandJanesLifestyle
      @AdamandJanesLifestyle  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Modern engines are practical and fuel efficient while having power. It’s 7 gears and turbo really make it easy. The warranty and repairs are easy in this type of car too. Wouldn’t trust many garages here to repair it except Tomas 4x4 from experience. We have a Mitsubishi Montero Sport and I can honestly say the driving experience is comparable. The Raize has more initial power and can easily cruise at 80-100kph without exceeding 2k revs. It’s a joy to drive! 😊

No car is a nightmare. We live in semi rural Wales (shout out to the U.K. 😎) and the bus/train service is very limited. We bit the bullet for reliability and warranty, luckily we only need one car as we are both within walking distance of work but shopping (apart from the local Tesco) or a trip to the ‘proper’ hospital is a 40 mile drive. Also health insurance is of upmost importance. Never scrimp on your health 🤓

I bought a toyota wigo and its 7 years old now. Had to replace the head gasket but nothing else. If you maintain the car especially oil and filter change they last a long time. A suggestion would be to see if they offer a vehicle with a timing chain instead of a belt, then you don’t have to worry about replacing it
Good luck and God bless you all.

1.0 horsepower. OMG really bad. Economical but your smaller engine has to work harder to keep the speed up. Your car will conked out sooner being overworked especially if lots of uphill journey or carrying heavy loads. Poor engine power. Go if at least 2.0 horsepower. BAD BAD choice.

Do you know about cars my friend? The power and torque in a 1.0 turbo is virtually the same as 1.5 engine but is far more fuel efficient. In the world we live in people are choosing smaller more economical engines. We have a 2.5 diesel and after driving both you’d be surprised how the 1.0 turbo performs. It certainly is not underpowered or slow. You should really read up about modern car engines. Seriously. You might be surprised! Yes, I’ve owned many cars from 1.0 to 2.5 before and driving normally here in the Philippines stop start or highway, the 1.0 is by FAR the better choice. By FAR! Have you driven in the cities here? 😊

@@AdamandJanesLifestylea good and well founded reply.
All this talk about big engines..... small engines not able to stick the pace......

@@gerbourke1952 thank you my friend and exactly right! Bigger engines are not better especially here where there is a lot of traffic. Just wasted power and fuel. A bigger car is only better if your journey is constantly long, open highways. God bless you 😊

@@AdamandJanesLifestyle if I may suggest that if you buy a lot that you buy what we call a "merrytiller"
I bought one 2 years ago. It came with wheels, rotovator blades and furrow plough.
I bought a reversible plough for it and built a simple trailer for it to pull.
      A little 7hp petrol engine.
There isn't a day that it's not used for something.
It has been super reliable and extremely easy to use. Even my mother in law (who cannot drive) will use it if she wants to buy drinking water or a sack of rice or carry vegetables from her garden.
She even gave it a name "doro"
Definitely the best 23k I have ever spent there.
      Kindest regards, Ger and Jessa

Get a motorcycle, gez dude you already got a tattoo. I taught my Filipina to drive in the US. Worst job I ever had. She will probably get a Raize or a Rush. Make sure you have good insurance by September. Driving in Ormoc will be more dangerous. If Jane’s drives like my wife we’re doomed. I still have plenty of turkeys, you can have a breeding pair for free. Give a Filipino a rooster and he goes to the cock fight, give him a turkey and ?
