I used to work at a paint store in the 70's, and you only should paint above 50 degrees. The greenhouse is the perfect place. You will stay toasty warm, finished doors can be put on the lower shelves, and there is no wind - to keep dust & debris off the wet surfaces. Plus it is super bright to work in, no shadows to miss things. In the future, a warm, wet, cotton micro cloth...dab of dishwashing soap will get most grime off doors gently. Finger dip the cloth in a little baking soda and rub for stubborn stains. Baking soda also works on cup bottoms and other things that have areas of build up from hand washing (I never had a dishwasher). There is always something begging for attention on the list, right? Squeaky wheel gets the grease, LOL! love the spring green.
Absolutely ..never paint under 50 degrees. Most paints even have that written into the instructions same as with stain or sealants. The greenhouse would have been my first choice of places to do the painting.
People are so rude. Tell them to look at their own cabinets and leave yours alone. You do you girl. Don’t let them make you do something you don’t want to do. Keep building, do your own thing, and thanks for taking your time to send us videos. 🤗🤗🤗
I painted my oak kitchen cabinets a sage green and they turned out beautiful ! I also did it in the winter but I did it inside but I am a very neat painter......lol. I am sure that you had a harder time with it being too cold for the paint. What I found worked better was after applying with a brush I then used a small sponge roller (wet it first).I just got one at the dollar store it comes with a paint tray that makes it easier. It makes a much smoother finish.
If you remember that was what several of us said you should paint them in the beginning. We always painted the cabinets, trim and the bathroom with enamel paint. Those are the most active places and enamel is much easier to clean.
I had the same problem with my cabinets. What I decided to do was after the paint cures remove the handles and line the area with clear contact paper. It is easier to replace the small pieces of contact paper than it is to paint the cabinets again.
My dog and my neighbors dog got ahold of a skunk also. No matter the tomatoe baths I gave my dog, I couldn't get the smell out! But my neighbor got out of the smell on hers. Well, she used pure vanilla extract, and it came straight out! So my dog got a rub down in that and the smell came out. I put some in a spray bottle and went crazy, and the smell even came out of every place his booty touched! Sp get you some pure vanilla extract! It works!
You're probably finished by now, but you might have done that inside the greenhouse! At least you and the paint would've been warmer. I love to paint too. And when it is below, 50° "paint doesn't do ever well.
Me too! Took me many times using special cabinet paint to find that out! Last time I used spray paint oil based and after 6 years it’s still beautiful, cleans so easy
After using the hoses, start at one end lift up shoulder high, allowing gravity to drain as you go. With the water drained, they won't be frozen when you go to use
Get well soon Anthony. Roxanne, you should have painted in the green house. Its warmer n the doors would have dried quicker for you. . Jus lay some plastic down to protect your table n floors. Luv the color you chose. Cant wait to see what else you will do in the kitchen. 🌹
Roxanne, nice job. I always love your beautiful smile and determination to get the job accomplished as quickly like you do. You and I are so much alike.
you should apply a top coat to cabinets to protect them from damage and enhance their appearance. A top coat can be a varnish, clear coat, or enamel, just paining them again is going to do the same thing
Last time I redid my cupboards I had hubby to reshape the edges of the doors. The outside edge is longer than the inside edges. We puttied the door handle holes shut. No handles now. Love it for when they need cleaned.
I was just wondering I have never had rabbits but everyone that I know that had rabbits have hay in their cages. I notice yours don't unless I missed it. Love watching you 2 working together.
I'm not worried about your cluttered kitchen I know you're an awesome cook I enjoyed watching you cook And taking tips on your gardening as well And I enjoy watching Anthony build and learn tips from him as well Will your family and I love you and I'll always be subscribed to your channel and always watch and look forward to the daily vise
My grandmother would use tomatoe paste in water to clean off skunk smell!! I don't know why but I quess it was what they did along time ago!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤ Mamma Carolyn
I Like it when it was the original color when you bought them,I belive it would have been better to keep dirt Grind off and easy to clean. But i under stand sometimes we like to change things. Cant waite to see New look
Take your dogs to Tractor Supply. I know that the ones in Connecticut have setups to give your dogs a bath. They have all the wash supplies that are needed including towels. I believe it costs $9.99 each dog.
De-Skunk Shampoo in the Walmart pet section. Faster, you get it on them, the better. We could actually let our dog sleep on the bed with us after her bath. We keep it on hand. Neighbors know we have it.
They do not have a tub to bathe them in and it's too cold to do outside. I probably would've looked for a waterless type, like wipes or something like that. It's too bad those puppies won't learn to stay away from the stinky animals.
My favorite colors are green then blue or combination of the two!! I like it Roxanne!! It's going to look really nice!! It's cold here in Pennsylvania and I've been painting as well but walls and trim!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤ Mamma Carolyn
You did a good job solo on the video Rox! And the inside of your cabinets look great to me...not messy in my eyes. I love seeing my cabinets full of all the things I need to cook and bake with! And your color choice is going to look great and def go with the rest of your house! 💖👍💖
I feel for you Anthony. I’ve lived with back pain and surgery for over 50 years many many times over the years I’d be down for weeks on end. At 84 being on total disability since I was 48 I don’t have the down time just pain when I walk. Good luck to you. Take care of your back because it can get worse.
Love the colour for the cabinets Roxanne I think they will look great. Sorry to hear about your soar back Anthony you look so much in pain. Heat on your back should help. Looking great 👍 you guys. Stay safe my friends.🎉
We’re really cold down here in Florida too. Hoping a few days of rest will help your back Anthony. This cold could be a hidden blessing in that respect. Love that pop of green for the cabinets. Hope the cold doesn’t keep the paint from drying properly.
I had my kitchen cabinets years ago painted 2 shades of green they had the same design yours.. the outside edge we painted a little darker green than the center.. they turned out really nice..
Our cabinets are stained, varnished wood. The stain is dark walnut so doesn't show any dirt but it drives me crazy trying to clean fingerprints off them. My husband is not careful so he makes a mess, also gets his fingerprints all over the stainless steel refrigerator. Can't wait to see what your cabinets look like when finished!
ANT IM PRAYING FOR YOUR BACK... I HAVE 10 HERNIATED DISCS 5 IN MY NECK 5 IN MY LOWER BACK AND OTHER DEGENERATIVE CONDITIONS. I HAD BAD SIATICA. ALL FROM 25 YRS AGO... NO SURGERY.. IM BLESSED NO RXS NO ORTHPEDIC VISITS IN 25 YRS.. I AM SENSATIVE TO MY BACK.. MY BACK TELLS ME WHEN IM DOING TOO MUCH.. I STOP TAKE IT EASY FOR A DAY AND IM GOOD TO GO... I PRAY YOU FIND THE THINGS THAT HELP YOU WITH YOUR BACK
@Ant and Rox: I really feel that pain… All I can offer is my prayers that will lead you in the right direction to get you the right treatment for you. What works for me won’t work for everyone. Just seeing the pain in your face reminds me just how life debilitating it is. The pain can rob you of one day or many! 🙏🥰🙏
Hi Roxane! When you 1st did your kitchen, I thought then that green would be pretty, can't wait to see when you get finished. Poor Anthony, can't tell you how many times I've seen my hubby walk like that when he's down with his back. P.S. My cabinets are totally stuffed too! LOL
You're doing great roxanne. I know it's a lot of work.I've painted cabinets and it's time consuming, but it'll be worth it when it's done I hope it dries, okay.
It's not rude if they ask for comments......I would paint them in the green house with a apron and twice as fast with a roller...semi gloss paint is what you need .....
Ms. McGinley is absolutely right, you really should wait for warmer weather. Had you used a primer and sanded it lightly, you would get a better finish. Plus latex paint takes 28 days to cure while oil paint may take a few hours to dry completely but it is more scrubbable and will have cured in 24-48 hours. Why does it matter if it cured? You should never clean a painted surface until it has fully cured. When putting the tape on, use a 3" putty knife to press it into the corners and push the front of the blade into the corner and snap the the tape up against the blade to tear off the tape in a straight line. This will make taping much easier and faster. take the tape off immediately afer you finish the final coat or you may be struggling to get it off.
Let the smell wear off the dogs. The Gradys dogs got sprayed they tried everything. And apparently it goes away faster if it doesn't get washed down into their fur coat😊
I love painting to. I have a horrible time keeping our cabinets doors and drawers clean. Doesn't seem to matter what color I use or how many coats I use the paint always wears off. Thanks for sharing.
Be sure to leave hoses disconnected from faucets as they free3 and broken pipes happen, I had one I didn’t get undone and when I turned faucet on water was spray every which way from faucet cost me 400.00 for repairing just one faucet. So be careful.
I think the green color looks different on camera than in person, the paint color looked different outside than when the cabinets were in the shed. Looking forward to seeing the cabinets back up in the house. 😊❤
If you were taping the cabinets why not just paint them while they were hanging in the kitchen. Be warmer & dry faster. I love that green color. Me I'd paint all the cabinets green. I've never liked white cabinets. ❤❤
I feel that it is rude of people making comments on the kitchen cabinets. Unless you are volunteering to go to CRC and clean for Roxanne, just back off.
I can't paint my cupboards, the material that they are made can't be painted, we live in a rental too. I do paint my doors and paintwork throughout the house and I use satin wood paint. It stays white for a while and I can wash them with no problems. I'm in the UK so not sure if they sell it over there. ❤ x

That’s an awesome idea to use the greenhouse, so much warmer and they would dry faster!
Absolutely ..never paint under 50 degrees. Most paints even have that written into the instructions same as with stain or sealants. The greenhouse would have been my first choice of places to do the painting.
That is almost the color that I painted my table legs just a little bit darker and I love it I think you will like it
Paint will be easier spread will be warmer cold paint works you harder
People are so rude. Tell them to look at their own cabinets and leave yours alone. You do you girl. Don’t let them make you do something you don’t want to do. Keep building, do your own thing, and thanks for taking your time to send us videos. 🤗🤗🤗
Roxanne…you should have done the painting in the greenhouse where it was warmer.
😅using a small roller made for cabinets worksbetter than a brush, no stroke marks
That's what I was going to say thats what I use
I painted my oak kitchen cabinets a sage green and they turned out beautiful ! I also did it in the winter but I did it inside but I am a very neat painter......lol. I am sure that you had a harder time with it being too cold for the paint. Check the directions for temperature for curing the paint. I sure hope it doesn’t bubble up and peel later.
Paint has a much harder time drying when it is below 55 degrees.
You should have did a light sanding so the paint will stick and not peel.JS 😊
If you remember that was what several of us said you should paint them in the beginning. We always painted the cabinets, trim and the bathroom with enamel paint. Those are the most active places and enamel is much easier to clean.
I had the same problem with my cabinets. What I decided to do was after the paint cures remove the handles and line the area with clear contact paper. It is easier to replace the small pieces of contact paper than it is to paint the cabinets again.
I would paint with enamel paint. So easy to clean!!
It works!
Wow, I remember recommending that you paint your doors the same color as the living room wall. Yay!!! I don't think you will regret it.
You're probably finished by now, but you might have done that inside the greenhouse! At least you and the paint would've been warmer.
I love to paint too. And when it is below, 50° "paint doesn't do ever well.
Seems like the greenhouse would be a better place to paint.
We always painted the kitchen and woodwork with enamel paint, because it was so much easier to clean!!!😊🎉❤
Me too! Took me many times using special cabinet paint to find that out! Last time I used spray paint oil based and after 6 years it’s still beautiful, cleans so easy
My mom used red devil enamel but I have not been able to find it here in Virginia.
I wipe my white cabinets just about every day. Especially around the handles. OMG are you really going to paint outside in this cold weather.
I feel for you Anthony, I go in next week for a nerve ablation. Hopefully it will give me some relief.
Roxanne, nice job. I always love your beautiful smile and determination to get the job accomplished as quickly like you do. You and I are so much alike.
Roxanne I think it's too cold to paint. They usually say it should be at least 50 degrees. Hope this works for you! Praying too for Anthony's back!!
Box cabinets require maintenance versus custom made. Sand and primer coat before final coat.
you should apply a top coat to cabinets to protect them from damage and enhance their appearance.
I like to use Mr Clean Magic Eraser sheets for my cabinet doors. You don’t have to press hard.
I was just wondering I have never had rabbits but everyone that I know that had rabbits have hay in their cages. I notice yours don't unless I missed it. Love watching you 2 working together.
I'm not worried about your cluttered kitchen
I know you're an awesome cook
I enjoyed watching you cook
And taking tips on your gardening as well
And I enjoy watching Anthony build and learn tips from him as well
Will your family and I love you and I'll always be subscribed to your channel and always watch and look forward to the daily vise
maybe you should’ve used the greenhouse for painting and drying…. much warmer in there right?
Using an angle brush can allow you to paint the doors without having to mask them off. Love the green color!❤❤❤
I hope it is warm enough to apply paint .
Maybe the greenhouse would have been warmer than the new supply room build. To dry the doors.
MY TWIN REDID MY OLD CUPBOARD DOORS WHITE, WHEN THEY WERE OFF I kinda enjoyed because you can see everything and I kept them neater.
My grandmother would use tomatoe paste in water to clean off skunk smell!! I don't know why but I quess it was what they did along time ago!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤ Mamma Carolyn
Sending Prayers your way Anthony 🙏🏻
Here in Pennsylvania we are below zero like 22° below
Me too Western Pennsylvania -21 degrees
I use to live in a house that had white cabinets. I changed out the handles to the ones that have a back plate to them.
I Like it when it was the original color when you bought them,I belive it would have been better to keep dirt Grind off and easy to clean. But i under stand sometimes we like to change things. Cant waite to see New look

Did you know you can give a dog a bath at Tractor Supply if you have one near by.
I like open cabinet. Love a walk in pantry. And love 2 little shelves on each side of sick where window is😊
Good morning coffee ..and yeah, it’s cold here in Utah too. It has been the last few days and I did stay warm and have a great day.. be safe..☕️🔥…
You did a good job solo on the video Rox! And the inside of your cabinets look great to me...not messy in my eyes. I love seeing my cabinets full of all the things I need to cook and bake with! And your color choice is going to look great and def go with the rest of your house! 💖👍💖
Best temp to paint is 72 and dry weather. Hope all goes well painting in the cold.
My grandparents did this to their cabinets one time. Grandpa loved to keep the place looking good.😊
In regards to your cabinets and doors. Be sure to wash your hands before touching them.
I love liquid Bar Keepers (in a gold bottle) cleaner for most cleaning.
Prayers for Anthony that his back will get better
Give Anthony all my blessings and love as my brother
I love that color on your cabinets Rox! Looks refreshing!!😊❤

Going to look great and change the look of the living room and kitchen area.
I had my kitchen cabinets years ago painted 2 shades of green they had the same design yours.. the outside edge we painted a little darker green than the center.. they turned out really nice..
Looks good and if that’s what you want that’s great.
You could put the dogs in the garden during the day and then pen them up at night. That way they may lose the smell faster. Cabinets are looking good.
I think they are going to look great, Rox. Get better soon Ant. Have a wonderful evening. 🇺🇸

get yourself a $25-$35 heat gun to help reduce and or eliminate the brush marks. Specially when painting in cold temps.
That's going look real nice and go with your living room.

Good job Roxann
I don't care what anybody says you and Anthony have a beautiful place❤
We got snow in Myrtle Beach SC which is so rare. I hate being cold. Come on spring.. take care of your back.
Hi Roxane! When you 1st did your kitchen, I thought then that green would be pretty, can't wait to see when you get finished. Poor Anthony, can't tell you how many times I've seen my hubby walk like that when he's down with his back. P.S. My cabinets are totally stuffed too! LOL

I missed it, did your cat come back? Hope you back feels better Anthony. Cabinets will look great with the green trim😊
That color is going to make your cabinets look so much nicer with the two colors together

This is just a suggestion but a sponge brush would eliminate the stroke marks!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤ Mamma Carolyn
I wouldnt worry about Wyatt with cabnets its those cats and dogs 😂 good luck hope they dry with the cold
The best paint for kitchen cabinets is semi-gloss, gloss or satin as it is washable, never paint below 50°.
I use form brushes or the small form rollers
I love painting to. I have a horrible time keeping our cabinets doors and drawers clean. Doesn't seem to matter what color I use or how many coats I use the paint always wears off. Thanks for sharing.
I found out that spray paint oil based works the best! Cleans up so easy
Anthony I hope that you feel better soon. You should go get checked out to make sure it’s nothing serious! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
It's the matt acrylic paint, not the color per se. You need a special paint for kitchens. They are not water-based.
I think the paint decision is a pretty good idea.
Having a back go out is brutal. I always keep my tens unit close at hand.
I love the green borders. Hope they all dry well.
Be sure to leave hoses disconnected from faucets as they free3 and broken pipes happen, I had one I didn’t get undone and when I turned faucet on water was spray every which way from faucet cost me 400.00 for repairing just one faucet. So be careful.

Looks good so far.
Nice change!
Great job
If you were taping the cabinets why not just paint them while they were hanging in the kitchen. Be warmer & dry faster. I love that green color. Me I'd paint all the cabinets green. I've never liked white cabinets. ❤❤
Looking nice
Confucius say: "Feng Shui will never be achieved without adding 6" piece of ceiling trim in corner above cabinets." 😬
Thats going to look nice Rox.Anthony hope your back feels better soon brother have a good one
I feel that it is rude of people making comments on the kitchen cabinets. Unless you are volunteering to go to CRC and clean for Roxanne, just back off.
Color?!?!?! GREEN!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted that color from the get go.
