Scott. When I saw your video using this product on engine bay cleaning, I immediately ran into Wally World and bought me 2 cans. I have used it to clean my engine bay, remove scum from the underside of the hood, clean door jams, clean door trim/rubber, clean seat surfaces, clean the jams of the rear lift gate, clean rubber seals...you name it. Now I can use it as a lube. We are blessed to have an out of the box critical thinker on this world! Thanks!
Thanks Scott! I'm a pro detailer in the Montreal area and was using ONR Wash and (Carnuba) Wax as a lubricant along with a Nanoskin "clay bar" foam pad scrubbier (lasts for literallyDOZENS of applications BTW and can be washed if dropped UNLIKE a clay bar : ) with absolutely fabulous results but definitely will use the Armor All Spray Wash - looks like a great idea! Thanks again and happy detailing !
That’s awesome. The very reason why I hate Armor All products is because it sticks and leaves behind a film... but that’s exactly what makes it a PERFECT clay lube! Great thinking!
Scott its been 3 years since this video. I know you have your own product line now. Have you incorporated any of this advice into your own product line? Would love to know if you have your own foaming clay lube....or a window cleaner wth the ability to fill im the glass? Love the videos, please keep em coming
Scott another great suggestion. You have some amazing techniques for detailing. Your lively hood depends on your timesavers and your reputation depends these working for customer satisfaction. Thanks for sharing these tips with the do it yourself crowd.
As always Scott looking for quick and innovative ideas to help the pro as well as novice !!!!!!! That's why your the Best Buddy you actually use your head not just for putting on a cap. Great job Scott !!!!!!! Love it , keep preaching to the choir my man that's the way to go saving time is the name of the game as well as getting great results!!!!!!!!! Les from Louisiana.
I love your videos and I really have learned a lot from you.You definitely have made my world as a professional detailer a lot easier.Much love love and respect Scott.
Loved this video and your "thinking outside the box" theme. I will try using the Armorall as you suggest. But I have one suggestion, maybe on future vids such as this, don't use a white car. We really can't witness what each product is doing, or not doing.
@@92F0XBody But they would be able to see how the product being touted sits on the surface. Difficult to see the clinging properties of white foam on a white vehicle.
we used to live near railroad tracks and i discovered that using that meguiars ultimate all wheels cleaner is kinda slimy and stays in place really well for a clay lube, also really helped get that metal fall out lose.
God damn, we think alot alike!! I've always felt the exact same way about traditional clay lubes. So I've been using Ammo Frothe as my clay lube for a long time. Since it's release. That ArmorAll waterless wash is literally Frothe in a can. Frothe has maybe a touch more lubrication. Frothe is one of the only Ammo products that is priced right. It's super concentrated so one bottle lasts forever. It's cheaper than buying the ArmorAll cans.
John 3:36 (KJV) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Sounds like just what I need and you convinced me to give it a try. Unfortunately, it appears to be discontinued. I only found it at napa online for ship to store, but I half expect to be told it is 'out of stock'; I'll find out in a few days. Any alternative you wish to recommend?
This video is now 7 years old, so I do not see it on Amazon. I wonder what people are using now that is still a foam and doesn't drip off and also doesn't cost a fortune?
What successes in life ever happen without experimenting and taking some risks? I keep a wrecker panel out back just for experimenting and I've thrown over $1000 worth of products on it. I know it doesn't seem like a lot but it is a lot to a "weekend hack" like me. I love trying new stuff because I want the best results on my rides. We spend too much time detailing our cars to NOT go at it this way! Good videos Scott. They are very informative and entertaining!
I've recently started to use dawn dish soap diluted in water as a clay Lube. I completely understand that dish soap will strip wax and protection but it works great after a wash before a correction. I fill up a small pump sprayer from home Depot and I have plenty to do a whole car Unfortunately it doesn't stay on the panel very long but it's cheap, works great and I've yet to find a problem with it
Dish soap will DEGRADE the clay bar!! Don't use dish soap!! I tried it once, never again! The clay starting breaking apart and leaving tiny sticky pieces all over the panel. Was hell to get it all off.
A squirt of DAWN and the rest water in a 32 oz bottle. You have to wash it again anyway after claying. 29 years of detailing. I used to use Auto Magic #49 Body Shine until I learned about Dawn and water. Lubes and cuts grease and grime.
Good info to know. I like Malco quick retailers. One of them that is purple in color actually lifts the contaminants up, so the clay bar to pick it up on a pass.
In my experience and belief, surely it's better to have the clay lube running off the car as by doing this it's physically taking loose contaminates away from the paint. I don't want them stuck to the clay bar or stuck into the sprayed on lube. It's the same principal as snow foam, you don't want it to just sit on the paint, you want it to dwell and flow off so it takes the crap away with it. I simply use a capful of car shampoo in a spray bottle and this is a perfect lubricant for the clay bar, works first time every time....
Hey pal John from Carefree Auto Detailing in LongIsland I agree if it was optimum or CarPro it wld fly off the shelves. The ppl that will poo poo this are the same ones that will scream bloody murder at using Costco towels for detailing. They are 80/20 and the plastic in a Nissan and the plastic in a viper doesn't know the difference lol. At 44 cents per towel best value out there. I'm gonna give this a try think of all the garbage we try that doesn't work that costs more. Keep on keeping on brother and if you make it back to the island let me know kk
When I'm detailing and I use clay I go over the paint to see if it needs to be polished or just waxed. Would you want to use this prior to polishing if you are trying to get to bare clear? Would it ruin a polishing pad?
Would you recommend using the Arm.All Spray even thought the plan is to use a ceramic coating afterward? will it affect the adhesion of the ceramic coating?
Love your videos, very informative. I have learned so much watch them and numerous questions have been answered. I now have confidence working the paint on my 1 1/2 year old truck. I must be doing it right cause everyone keeps asking why my paint is so shiny and wet looking. Thank you
Dude, your rock! I have listened to Michael Savage on talk radio for years, and his accent and direct manner of speaking is quite unique to NYC. IF you're NOT from there, I will use Blu-Tac to clay my 1983 Chevrolet Caprice with this Armoral. (Hint: IMA do it anyway...)
I like to use Sonax Glass Cleaner. It foams up very nice. It has a long working time. Most important it has some alcohol in it. So when I wipe it off. It leaves a clean surface ready for polish.
You are right about the lube. I use like half a bottle of lube everytime I clay my car from the run off. I hate it and will try the Armor All the next time. I have always used the Blue Magic Bar by the way. I think it's the best. Thanks for making this video as all your others. Your the best.
Nice tip Scott works great only problem I had was can kept slipping out after half car I was laughing cause it was makings my hands so slick thanks for videos
I just clayed my 10 year old Infiniti g37 with mothers clay bar kit. Was really alot of fun & I definitely removed som crud. Here's my question to you. How often do you recommend someone to clay their car? I drive 68 miles a day, mostly highway but some city. Work 6 to 7 days a week in the fall & winter, not as much in the spring or summer. Once a year, or once every 2 years? What's your recommendation?
same, currently working at a dealership and cleaning freaking 6 cars a day and only making $150. this is with 10 hours of work too.on Overtimes I get extra $200 a day but fuck it gets taxed like crazy. Love to find a way to do only 3 to 4 cars a day and make aleast 300 to 500 a day. Even $700 a week i'm happy at the beginning. fucking canada and its taxes.
Really? Don't quit your Full time Day Job..with a Pension and come wintertime? then what..? I have my Detail guy do his custsomer cars In his 2 Car Garage and heated in Winter up here in Wisconsin and He gives me a Loan car, a Decent SUV to use for work or for the wife to swap cars with.. He only charges $250 the 1st time and then? $200 thereaftere he's got it clean.. and He finishes his interior jobs with 30 Min of a Ozone Gen ..
Scott ive been seeing alot of videos of people making their own spray wax and detailer using concentrate products. Can you make s video on your opinion on that topic?
Carpro have already done it in a way. It's name is Immolube and it clings far better than other claylubes which does it to last longer. The real benefit with Immolube is it does not contain any wax or polymers or gloss enhancer. But just lubrication and som e detergents wich is clayproof. Just that it is clean from wax/polymers/gloss enhancer make it for me a contender when I'm going to polish. Then the pad does not have to polish this away first but it is as a clean slate it can be before polishing. If you do a maintence claying armor all can maybe do it. And do you count it in the price armor all is the fix. But use a claylube before polishing I would want as a clean slate as possible and go whit carpro Immolube. Or what is your toughts on the armor all is leaving behinde? Even the others often leaves some polymers or gloss enhancer that bond quite strong to the paint. Wich then end up in the pad when polishing. Or can be altering the outcome of the protection you put on after a claying.
so when you clay bar using this product (Ammor All Ultra Shine Spray Wash) followed by an application of Wolfgang Sealant, does it reduce the effectiveness of the sealant?
Scott, have you ever used Garry Dean's Infinite use Detail Juice that Junkman2000 recommends? Just curious if you have any input there. It's difficult sometimes with so many different recommendations going around from multiple different people that seem to know what they're doing.
IMO ONR can't be beat. You can make 64 32OZ bottles with one 32 OZ bottle of ONR. And ONR Is very versatile. I bet you'd end up using one of those cans per one or two vehicles depending on how much contamination Is on the paint. That's a huge waste of money when you compare the cost. I can use a pump sprayer so I don't pull the trigger constantly. It's a no brainer.
skip ahead to 5:20 if you just want the information, not the five minutes of preamble.
You're the real hero..........

Thanks
You are right

Appreciate the clear and simple logic behind this tip. You’re the man Scott!
I've this twice and it has worked beautifully! There's is tons of lubrication with little product used. Great tip! Thanks!
DP you're the best. Been searching for the right clay lube-just found it! You are the ALEXANDER HAMILTON of car detailers. THANKS!
Yuck
I thank you sir for using your brain, thinking outside the box and sharing it with us! Best channel I have found on the tube.
That’s awesome. The very reason why I hate Armor All products is because it sticks and leaves behind a film... but that’s exactly what makes it a PERFECT clay lube! Great thinking!

Hey Scott just spent the day claying and polishing my Lexus! Thanks for all your help!

Scott, the product doesn't seem to be available or is discontinued. Do you have a second recommendation?
I love your videos and I really have learned a lot from you.You definitely have made my world as a professional detailer a lot easier.Much love love and respect Scott.
Loved this video and your "thinking outside the box" theme. I will try using the Armorall as you suggest. But I have one suggestion, maybe on future vids such as this, don't use a white car. We really can't witness what each product is doing, or not doing.
yes, maybe a chrimson red tricoat
Ditto on the White Car or even Lite Silver, etc.. Use a Black or Dark Gray
Would you guys be able to see any bonded contaminates being removed? It doesn’t matter what color the car is

Maxx61 true and i understand that. But trust him and try it out 😊 It works incredibly well. For a few bucks it’s well worth it.
Everytime I need a solution I come to the detail goat
Hi Scott I can’t find this Armorall product anywhere. Have you found any other foaming product that would substitute? Thanks!
Thanks Scott. Looks like this is no longer available. Any alternatives?
Armor All Ultra Shine Spray Wash - 22 OZ Spray Can is out of stock everywhere online
Lmaooo after 6:00 "HOW LONG U PLAN KEEPING THIS" scott u the man.
is this howard stern? lol
Dammit, you beat me to it..lol
lol..... i just asked him the same question...he does sound like howard...lol
I listen to stern obsessively everyday for hours and I didn’t get that.
Hey now!
No its Ray Ramond.
the more that runs off, the more you use. the more you use, the more you buy.they are thinking inside the cash box.
Thanks Scott. I’ve learned so much from your videos
Should of used a Darker Paint Guy! Like Red or Black..can't see the foam or Water for that matter
we used to live near railroad tracks and i discovered that using that meguiars ultimate all wheels cleaner is kinda slimy and stays in place really well for a clay lube, also really helped get that metal fall out lose.

YOU ARE THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. Your knowledge has been invaluable to me--THANK YOU!!!
Yes sir it works awesome,Ive been using it a coule of years now..Love using it on black too,Black is usually a pain to clay but not with this method.
I feel ya...I know as a detailer I couldn't understand why no companies hasn't made a clinging lube

dawn soap will ruin your clay bar....

can't find it anywhere, has it been discontinued?
i just use the car soap from my wash bucket and squeeze the wash mit on the paint and use those suds and that is more than enough lubrication
Exactly what I do..
I do this too but I have to rewet the surface probably 10 times just on a small door because it drips off so easy.

I’ll definitely try that out. Thanks for sharing bro
Dude just clay after you wash the car with soapy water it’s free and works perfect then dry and buff.
Oh my god thank you for this comment 2 years ago I'm halfway through my car spent my last 25 bucks on a kit and ran out of lube
The soapy water won't stick like Ultra shine
I tried something like this before I saw it and I totally agree! keep it wet with out a fore arm workout! I used a different make but worked great!

I would like to know how often you should fold the clay bar over. How long will these bars last on a heavily contaminated vehicle?
Scott you nailed it and anyone that laughs or has a problem with this has issues. This is a great idea and great advice for professional detailers
What about the bathroom quality foamy tub bubble scrubbies? Does that have enough lubricity?

I use car soap and water the clay starts to break down but when it drys its fine i got 2 cars and a truck and still have the bar!!

I mean can it interfere with coatings?

Great information, I'll try ir out on my wife's car..
Your ONR bottle looked really light for the actual Clay Lube dilution. How much did you put it in
Fantastic tip mate, i am sold. Will get some. Thanks.
Gonna try this to see how it performs to clay/clean glass! Awesome
claying my glass....the best thing ive ever done to my windshield!
Do you wash the car again after using armorall ultra shine?
so when you clay bar using this product (Ammor All Ultra Shine Spray Wash) followed by an application of Wolfgang Sealant, does it reduce the effectiveness of the sealant?
Would CG waterless wash work too?
is there any other alternative? in my country they do not sell this product
Can this be used on glass? Also can this be followed up with your soy based dupli color wax and grease remover?
Scott, have you ever used Garry Dean's Infinite use Detail Juice that Junkman2000 recommends? Just curious if you have any input there. It's difficult sometimes with so many different recommendations going around from multiple different people that seem to know what they're doing.
The run off is beneficial. You want to remove contamination. Not have it stay on paint.
Thanks for your vids.
Hi Scott. Clay bar vs clay block? Any experience on that.
Hell of a comment. As a novice this really helps thanks!!!
What do you think of mothers synthetic clay vs the real clay bar. Is there a big diff
If you are going to ceramic coat won't you have to strip this wax after claying?
Really like and respect your common sense on work. To many pushing products these days.
Is vinylex safe for your dash? This is what I have been using to protect my dash. Thanks. Kelly.
