@@StrangeAdventures Lol, wait, I came here cause I started watching LA by Night on g&s 2 months ago and have been watching Sounds of Silence on Roll4it in the interim and wanted to learn how to make a character like this series and just happened to choose Saito's video and see Jason's comment..... Surreal
It was! Thank you! I'll be catching Chapter 5 of LA by Night this evening, and I am psyched for Bloodlines 2, so V5 has me very intrigued. My World of Darkness, though I often refer to it as WoD 4.x or WoD 4.4, is very much a modified 2nd Ed. game, with elements of Rev/3rd & Requiem, and now elements of Bloodlines 2 & V5. Haven't decided yet if the Second Inquisition is a thing in my WoD yet, though...
FINALLY SOMEONE EXPLAINS HOW THIN BLOOD WORKS ! Thank you ! We're starting a thin-bloods campaign with my friends and they just brush over it in the rulebook it's hard to find info !
Awesome video. I'm new to 5E, but the LA by Night Chronicle has me pumped to play. Another great thing about the character sheet is that people who might be stuck on how to craft a backstory can really get a framework on what is important to emphasis and what you shouldn't stress over. Also shout out to Jason Carl for being one of the best storytellers I've seen...just in case he's in the shadows of the comment section making a note.
Yea the sheet is very informative for how the game can be played! LA by Night is a really great show, if you're looking for more Vampire then Blood Lost is my own series you might be interested in!
Recently I've had an idea for a Salubri, but I didn't know how to set up a character sheet. Thank you for having made this, even tho it was out for so long!
Character name: James Howlett aka "Logan" aka "Wolverine" Clan: Gangrel Mental state: would be perfectly happy to live the rest of his days in a log cabin somewhere but is forced by -his clan- the plot to work with others and he has a love-hate relationship with all his comrades.
Wow what perfect timing. My girlfriend and I just picked up the rulebook today and we're gonna get started by creating a character for her to test the waters. Your videos have been a huge help in getting started!
Haven’t played in years. Doing Session Zero tonight as the StoryTeller! This has made getting ready to help everyone create their characters much easier! Thank you!
I really want to play a Tzimisce who managed to escape the Sabbat and is looking to join the Anarchs, they were lured into the cult as a pre-med student and just wants to make the world a better place in slightly off-kilter ways.
That isn't possible in V5, is it? Have they released the Tzimisce yet? I mean people don't seem all that bothered that some of the most important clans in the setting have become "paid DLC" so to speak.
The character concept I had was for an English ex-sabbat shovelhead who flees to the states after The Second Inquisition's purge of London. In life he was a ballet dancer who attracted the attention of a sabbat pack priest while performing at a show. Embranced against his will by the Tzimisce priest to be a personal dancer and concubine, my character was forced into vaulderie to keep him obedient. Escaping London after his Sire's execution, he hates the Sabbat with a passion and has sworn to never be blood bound again but has a weakness to it, like the flaw in the video. Once he's in the US, he poses as a gangrel using his vicissitude to impersonate protean abilities, so the camarrila and anarchs don't murder him for being tzimisce.
@@geek4u869 depends on the individual. Tzimisce tend to appreciate the human form and how they can change or build upon it. There not all the wild war dogs, the true powers of the Sabbat have long grown out of being mere cannon fodder.
They really dont care about dance. And no, they really haven't considering this current storyline where the Sabbat all ran off to the middle east to fight.
Very useful! I knew most of it already, but seeing it actually gone through and filled out was hugely beneficial for bringing all the rules together in my head.
I play Ventrue and loved the video. Very good explanation on how to create a character for one of the best in my book role play games out there. I'm a huge fan of white wolf with the werewolf series, vampire the masquerade, and of D&D.
A Tremere who was fascinated with the Occult and offered up their whole family as sacrifice in order to be turned. Something like that. Want it to be someone who went to deep into the rabbit hole and then became obsessed to the point of changing their morals. Maybe a Journalist at one point. Would have to out a lot more thought into it
I’ve wanted to play this game for a lil but now cause it seems super fun. I’ve been wanting to play an ancient female vampire named Ma’at who’s main goals r surviving and also kinda raising baby vamps. Her back story is that she was born a couple years before the old kingdom Egypt began and was raised with her sister. Her father died in a war and it was just the three of them until her mom died of sickness and her and her sister had to sneak and steal to survive. While they lived on “the streets” of ancient Egypt she formed a band of other orphaned children for survival and because she always had a generous heart. An ancient vampire name Ashkira watched her for many nights and was impressed with her generosity and stealth abilities and turned her and her sister. Since Ma’at is an ancient vampire she is given a certain level of respect that she very much likes, but has also never abandoned her heightened survival instinct which has led to her living for so many millennia. Also she’d be clan bruja because I’m a huge fan of the idea of this like 18 or so female vampire in like heels or platform knee high boots and stuff like lifting grown men and jumping off buildings and running silently through the night. If I played I’d have her searching for her sister whose disappeared and also checking in on some of her “children” I.e vampires she’s sired or just baby vamps she’s helped adjust and learn. She’s considered the like go to vampire in the society
I’ve been toying around with the idea of creating a Brujah that was turned in the 1920’s He was a British volunteer soldier who fought alongside the CNT-FAI (the anarchist faction)in the Spanish civil war and was embraced after sustaining a severe wound during the conflict
In one, no not playing a group yet so couldn't get to the cotery part, idea I worked on I had one of those Gym Guys, works as trainer, loves to run in the park etc character. So mostly physical with some intelligence and social skills but mostly physical. It made a really interesting character going from that idea. A Gangrel had been tracking that guy a while and pounce, done! The idea to go from an "innocent" human that is turned for some reason kinda feels nice. It means your character has now to deal not with only vampirism and its powers but also the fact that they have to hunt humans. The Psychology behind that is delicious. Sure a thief could be turned into a vampire, but not sure how much humanity the human had to begin with.
So apart from the guns part you have made Angel from buffy and the spin of Angel. My main from way back when i was not disabled was Lucifer but a vampire not the devil himself, and i made that guy 10 years before the show but it fits him to a tee, i didnt remember this till someone pointed it out to me about a month back, and its really quite odd seeing a almost carbon copy of a character you made walking around on screen, even the actors looks aren't that far off from how i imagined him.
The video was very helpful. I just started getting into the game after being a longtime fan of the V20 setting. Still trying to find a group to play with but can’t wait to start!
i'd advice against inverting the colour on Willpower. Certain rolls depend on how much Willpower you have (Frenzy as an example and the Willpower roll button). Both rolls are calculated as undamaged Willpower, by inverting the colours it will roll 11 dice rather than 4 - dmg. The Max WP and Max Health are there merely as reminders, so you don't have to keep working stuff out. Also if the ST declares you lose one permanent WP (for what ever reason) you can make note of it there. Health isn't used for any rolls directly so feel free to do what you want.
Hey. I mentioned this in a previous post. When selecting the character sheet there is a patron link which goes to a Just giving charity page instead. If you could give it a call out I would appreciate it.
If I get the chance to play V5 I'll probably make some sort of paranoid investigative journalist Malkavian who outwardly presents as a Fishmalk to make others underestimate him.
My character is a Brujah, who in human life was a Wild West Sheriff in a city his family build, and has a strong sense for Justice, and a brutal old School way of ditching out such. He hated the Camarilla at its height, and thrieves now with The Second Inquisition is stomping them Hard and good. Justice though is a fine Line for him here, as there in his point of view are good people in both human and kindred, and The Second Inquisition might be a mean to end the oppressing of the Camarilla, but also another oppressor, he wants to see be torn down. So he kinda working and fighting both sides of the fence do to speak, giving him a big target on his back. He is a consensualist, as in line with the justice, so he is a Masquerade breacher, who - if his donor as he calls them, not victim - can’t be persuaded to keep quiet, then a lingering kiss, is putting people in line, however not that good with justice, making people addicted. What I like playing this character is that gritty old School outline on justice, not really fit for Modern justice, and justice in general is a very subjective point of view, leading to kinda shady, dodgy and conflicted decisions and actions.
A simple bookstore owner who showed kindness to a aven familiar and ends up nearly dying only to be saved by the Gangrel who wanted to return the favour. I like the idea of an owl-like Gangrel who owns and runs a small bookstore at night, I also just like the Gangrel clan
LaSombra, always. I would say Anti-tribu, but it seen like they might merge with main LaSombra in Chicago by Night. As for the sheet it is easy, once my Narrator announced he would start a new game, with no limits to creation points, but you could only get what you - the player - had in real life. As I realized I had less points than a just made characters I decided to turn my life into the character I would like to play. That was back in 3rd Edition, and I haven't transfered the sheet to 5E yet, but I was 4~5 skill points away from my goal, and becoming a vampire enhances some of your stats, so if I were to become a LaSombra I would close my sheet :) -and yeah, i read the clan books, the Clans most likely to embrace my character self would be the Ventrue and the LaSombra antitribu
@@geek4u869 yeah, they are goin woke, and soon they will go broke if they follow this line. I payed for a full Camarilla book, but because some people that didn't even bought the book complained they are going to rip some pages of my boom, no compensations, to please people that won't even buy their books after it gets censored. Danm, it is a game about monsters, do people expect the villains to be respectfull and good natured? I'm playing a bloodsucking monster, not the cookies monster -.-
I'm not too familiar with the game, but it's caught my and a friends interest and we kinda want to try it sometime. She said she might want to play a character that's more of a rebel or something similar, so I ended up coming up with an idea we both like that could work with that. The idea was that our characters are brothers, she'd go the older brother and likely be something like a Brujah and be the more stonger assertive brother, and I'd be the younger, meeker brother, not sure what clan, but was thinking something like our characters were both going to university, the older brother on a sports scholarship or something and mine would be a medical student or something. I like the idea of having more mental or magical disciplines, but not sure about being one of the social clans.
@@StrangeAdventures Yeah I quite like it, especially of them being only recently embraced, since me and my friend not really know the rules of the game, and them not knowing the rules of vampire society XD I'd just need to discuss with the gm/storyteller what clan would work for my one. If I even find people to play with that is.
i love to play the ultimate urban Predator, a City-Gangrel, but an independent one, not one who is into the Sabbat. He is a kind a Spy and works hand in hand with the Nosferatu. His dark secret is his love to a female Gargoyle, she ist hunted by the Tremere and the Tzimisce for her special blood. Its a kind of dramatic Bonny&Clyde Story, of course they are bloodbounded. Well all the shit that a Camarilla Prince wishes as a future Sherif ;)
A little helpful extra information. If you order a rule book off of White Wolf's website, you can add on a couple of free copies of the character creation sheets.
My concept was for a beautiful female assassin named Morrigan. Probably a Caitiff whose posing as a brujah or a toreador who wants to look after and teach stray childer and possibly climb the kindred society ladder to a powerful position
I had an idea for a Nosferatu Child, cursed with unlife because his mother killed his sire's brother. Scarred by the fact that, upon becoming a vampire, he fed upon his mother until she died in a blind thirst for blood. His sire was executed by the Camarilla for his actions. The poor child spent the better part of a year locked away in his room at the church of a Nun who was a vampire. He tried to starve himself to final death, but would blackout and awaken surrounded by empty blood packs and dead rats. He finally got over his actions enough to join in vampire society.
The video was a great help! Using it I made a Mancunian Tremere named De Bouvoir :3 Lives in the cellar of a dilapidated church with their burgeoning library for company, only drinks from the sleeping, indebted and suspected by Tremere at large and they are a Carna adherent to boot; Few friends will they find amongst what remains of Clan Tremere in Europe. They are afflicted by a lack of physical courage and as such perfer to go unnoticed when not outright hidden by the local Anarchs (though De Bouvoir's sympathies do lie in that direction they lack the guts to come out and admit it, and act in a vaguely mercenary fashion as such) and what remains of the Tower in the UK, and their immediate goal at present is simply to gather materials and tools of the Kindred that have fallen in to the hands of the kine, who believe them mere antiquities, with a driving desire to escape the ties that bind them to their old Tremere Chantry, ties both magical and psychological, that are proving problematic since the Chantry's destruction at the hands of the 2nd Inquisition.
I'd be interested in playing a character that could very well be..well.. Willy. Or at the very least a version of. I'll give him a different name. Elliot Marshal was no angel, but he wasn't a killer, either. Sure he pulled a few B&E's and stole a car or two in order to support his heroin habit. He also dabbled in a little bit of dealing, which is how he got arrested. That was what he thought was his bottom. He spent some time in jail, and that's where he cleaned up. He got out and was on the road to recovery. Things were going well for him, until suddenly he was brought in for murder charges after his old dealer turned up dead. He didn't do it, but the (planted) evidence was too compelling against him. He was convicted for the crime he didn't commit. I'm getting way too long winded here - I tend to do that, sorry - the short version is Elliot somehow manages to escape from prison, and in his efforts to go into hiding gets embraced. I'm thinking maybe Nosferatu (could be his escape accidentally took him into the Warren, maybe the clan was watching him for some time and had use for him....?) He would be quite determined to repay Tom the guard that helped him escape, and find whoever it was that framed him. Also, he would likely still struggle with his addictions in some form or another. Not just that, but he would technically still be at large, which would make things difficult for him. In the context of your Brujah, Elliot would probably see and appreciate what he stands for and try to make some kind of alliance with him. How's that for an unlikely pair; ex cop and ex con/fugitive?
Very nice and informative Video thanks! I never really cared that much about V5 but with the book about the hecata i might get into a V5 game finally when i can play my favourite Clan again! :)
I love this! Very helpful! I want to make a a Tremere character that's a former Pagan (Wicca) Coven leader and who is an Osiris Predator but I'm not sure how to go about it...
Well if you're doing the cult part of stuff you could have had them convinced in order to do some magic you must consume the blood of the others in the circle, but warn them to not do the same as you have trained yourself to gain the ability, or the ability is a gift given to you and can only be done if it's given to you. Hides that you're a vampire while using her past to her advantage. Maybe see if the ST will let you keep one of them as a ghoul. Or maybe the entire circle are your ghouls depending on how many you actually have, as the more you have to manage the harder it is. Especially since every time you give them your blood to keep them your ghouls can make you hungrier. (Don't want 5 ghouls and then fail basically every hunger check. Lol)
It's been over a year and this video is still the best video to explain character creation I can find period. I would love to see a thin-blood character creation video!
I've thought about getting back into VtM with the last version I played was I think V3. And for character I might do a reboot version of the character I did before that being a cop who was embraced by the Ventrue but preferred being out on the streets and amongst humans rather then being fancy in buildings talking politics and protected innocent humans from both human threats and supernatural threats. Basically the so-called gatekeeper who acted as the humans' shadowy guardian angel. Yes my character got around the blood thirst by carefully feeding on criminals including corrupt politicians.
I like the idea of a gangrel who hates their unlife. Not because they have to drink blood and take the night shift, they would have loved to be embraced by a ventrue or tremere. In life they were a doctor or a yuppie housewife or a professor, just someone who is very uptight and out of tune with nature, and they did something to piss off the wrong vampire. A gangrel that thought it'd be a fitting and amusing punishment to make their new undead nature conflict with their refined clean-freak personality.
A Malkavian clock maker pretending to be a ventrue who is taking on jobs to test the accuracy of his premonitions and trying to interpret patterns in the Malkavian network.
I have seen many comments arguing about the different editions whenever I looked into buying one of the physical guidebooks, now I'm confused which one to get. 🥺 I know nothing about roleplaying but a decent amount of lore and just want to learn so I can then figure out how to find people to play with. But it feels as though there's an invisible requirement to somehow know things in advance. 😭
There's no requirement to know anything, if you did you wouldn't need the book! :) Anyone that requires you know everything before hand is probably not fun to play with. I recommend 5th edition Vampire because there are lots of people that are looking to play it because it's newer but if it doesn't sound like your kind of system then the other editions aren't worse, just different.
i just recently found out about Vampire and i just got the handbook, could you make more videos like this? the book is all encompassing so it can get pretty hard to navigate at times
@@StrangeAdventures so i'm used to D&D where things like Races, Classes, Feats, etc are a little bit more self explanitary. I'm only a third way into the Vampire 5e handbook and it just feels like i'm skipping over information the more i read it
I love this. You explained everything in the clearest terms I've seen, but a quick question about Touchstones: I plan on making a campaign where all three characters were close in life, but didn't have many other friends. Is it possible that if a vampire keeps their humanity high enough and shares a close bond with another vampire, for them to act as a Touchstone?
How interesting you mentioned Ex-Cop, Josh! My last character was a Brujah Ex-Cop/Vigalante. Although he was far from the stereotypical Brujah, his hatred of the establishment and confining laws & regulations gave him common cause with the rest of his clan.
This is fascinating, as I've only just become aware of this game (and World). As I was watching this I was wondering if would be possible to create a Nosferatu spy/assassin character, who was a martial artist & musician in life? He'd have to be stealthy, fast, agile. Good at hand to hand combat, & performance/disguise. He'd be an old fashioned feeder I think, but I'm not sure of his flaws yet. Does that sound plausible?
Hey Josh (Strange Adventures ) Can you do other character background creations. Like do one on a character that's a High School Student, who is an Outcast, whose parents were good parents, but had to move to the big city and ended up being killed in a car accident or murdered and she ends up being passed from one home to another. Eventually she becomes homeless and ends up quitting school. Unknown to her a Gangrel Vampire has been watching her and how she's been treated by other kids her age. One night he turns her, but for whatever reason he's not around to train her and she ends up finding out on her own how to feed. Having the background she has, she refuses to drain people to death unless the person has done something really bad and she thinks they deserve it.
I have a question about mechanics doing conflict. It says that you spilt the pool when attacking multiple opponents. But what if you want to attack one, and defend against another, does that mean you use a full dice pool for the attack and then a full dice pool for defense? Thanks in advance! I appreciate your content!
That's a tricky one. You could do it a few ways. You could split the dice pools for attack and defense, you can do only the attack roll and the other attacker has to roll higher than that to hit, or you could roll both attack and defense. It depends on how much toughness/dice rolling you want in your game. Hope that helps.
@@StrangeAdventures Now I have stumbled across something else, and I have another question. I´m a bit confused to what it means when in Awe it says “Add the Presence rating to any Skill roll involving….” And then at dot 3 Entrancement it says “After succeeding, the user adds dice equal to their Presence rating to any Social dice pool..” Is Awe supposed to also give extra dice to the roll, or does it basically give you automatic successes equal to your rating that you can add to the dice results? I got a bit confused because the same goes for prowess (potence dot 2) “add the Potence rating of the user…”. But looking at Fletness (celerity 2) its says the same as Entrancement “Add the Celerity rating to user's dice pool..” I´m interested in hearing what you think and how you think it would fit the game best. Because even though adding your rating after a roll is made can seem a bit powerful, you are RP a vampire afterall 😊
So I have a Nosferatu and I want to give him the discipline of Bond Famulus but I don't have any skill points in animal kin and only 1 in Charima. Can I still take the ability?
I couldn't put my finger on where I had seen you before! Just found out that was on Stellaris youtubers' war! Awesome to see that you're also role-player!
I allow thinbloods to get a predator type, I just don't let them get any discipline for it. As a matter of fact, I am not sure even vampires get "new" powers if they pick a predator type that has them, I only thought you could increase any of those powers by one if they have it? I may be wrong tho, but lore wise, the disciplines are bound to your clan blood and you can't get new ones unless you feed of some lick from another clan. Again, might be wrong on that. If I am, I'd appreciate if someone points out where it's stated, im not at the point of running my campaign yet, but when I do, I want to make sure. I tried just giving the chapter a quick-read another time, but can't point out any specifics about how the predator discipline bonuses work... Though, to be fair, I think ill homebrew it to fit the lore even if the rules say you can just get new powers by picking a habit.
Allowing thin bloods to have predator types certainly helps balance them out against clan vamps. Not a bad idea if you want a more established kindred with a stronger idea of how they hunt. As for the disciplines from predator type, there is no limit to which predator type/disciplines you can take. Its only one dot and you still have to pay extra xp if it's out of clan. I think it's a good idea for those who want a bit more variety.
I think the VtM5e character sheet is my favorite character sheet. The ironsworn character sheet is a close second. I really like the mechanics. How would you convert a d20 character sheet into one of these storyteller WoD character sheets?
Blane! LMFAO! The other officers would tease him relentlessly, because of that name. If my name was Blane and I wanted to be a cop I would legally change my name to Hank or Frank.
Yeah kind of. I'm from a family that has law enforcement (uncles, cousins) Blane is too cutting edge a name for police. Honestly youre far more likely to meet a Chad or Chet who is a cop, than a Blane. Its only as funny as it is too me, because I know so many cops. Its like meeting a mechanic named Sebastian instead of Dave.
I'm looking to ST my first chronicle with my session 0 coming up next weekend so this is perfectly timed. My players are all tabletop virgins so I'm planning on doing a short introductory story, 5-10 sessions, before throwing them to the wolves (figuratively and literally) of WoD. Do you have any plans to make an ST tips and tricks video or should I just post my random questions on any video? As for character creation: How important is the relationship map? I personally have mixed feelings about it and don't know if I should just skip it or not.
I'll have a think about storyteller tips :) The Relationship Map is a useful tool to keep your character network and opinions of them in order but if you and your players don't find it useful then it's not essential.
Had a bit of a question about flaws and merits at creation. Can you take additional flaws past the mandatory 2 dots. And in return gain another dot of a merit? I feel like i have seen that in my readings but havent been able to find a definite answer. Thanks for the great video ive been sending it around to my hopeful coaterie.
I do not find the Character-creator that you are using! It looks very great so i want to try it :D Any Links to it? On Roll20 i cant find it, or do i need a pro sub?
Graffiti artist turned toreador. In life he snuck around at night tagging walls, underpasses, busses, trucks- and dodging the cops/security soon after on his skateboard. I’m thinking dex, sub, wits and stealth. I don’t know if he’d much of a fighter though.
In your opinion in a game like vampire, would it be more important initially load heavily "talents" and "skills" when it comes to play/action since they are more used in rolls, instead of "knowledge" in character creation?.
It entirely depends on the kind of character you would like. Your character won't get access to much lore without dots in Occult, or be able to understand who has the advantage in a political situation without Politics. It depends on how your ST plays it but that's how I see it. Also depends on the kind of campaign you're playing. If it's all about killing stuff then academics might not do you much good haha.
I'd be interested in coming on for a program where we work together to build a custom character for a hypothetical game as a sort of case study. Perhaps I'll see about contacting you privately, perchance you may be interested in doing so, some other sort of thing.
Great video. I am starting out as a ST for VtM 5e starting this week. I have sent this video to players as homework. Question - where on the roll20 site can you find that character sheet? I tried the form fillable PDF and didnt like it so I made my own using Google Sheets. I would like to give my players options though. Looking forward to more of your videos!!!

Character name: Napoleon Dynamite
Clan: Gangrel
"I'll do whatever I wanna do! Gosh!"

Character name: James Howlett aka "Logan" aka "Wolverine"
Clan: Gangrel
Mental state: would be perfectly happy to live the rest of his days in a log cabin somewhere but is forced by -his clan- the plot to work with others and he has a love-hate relationship with all his comrades.
"they don't have to be criminals"
*laughs in Ravnos*
I would love a video on making a Tremere. I’m a little confused about rituals and wards.
Yes please!!, the character concept I have is a Tremere Ghost/Demon hunter who in life was a scholar of history, the occult and religion.
Tremere & Gangrel are my favorite Clans! Small surprise my favorite Bloodline is Gargoyles.
Plenty of lore dumps on Tremere, plus Outstar has a video on them I think
Wow what perfect timing. My girlfriend and I just picked up the rulebook today and we're gonna get started by creating a character for her to test the waters. Your videos have been a huge help in getting started!

Woah!
@@user-jv7gr1jb3r why thank you :)
Why would Sabbat embrace someone like that? They could give two shits about human arts...
Blaine sounds almost like a concept I had for a Brujah character. An Ex-Cop/Vigilante!
kinda surprised he didn't feed on criminals but family does add to the potential tragedy
I want To make a character who was embraced to be someone's "forever", who didn't realise the consequences
I'm just getting started in Vampire, and this really helped me get a grasp on things. Thank you!
Have fun!
A Tremere who was fascinated with the Occult and offered up their whole family as sacrifice in order to be turned. Something like that. Want it to be someone who went to deep into the rabbit hole and then became obsessed to the point of changing their morals. Maybe a Journalist at one point. Would have to out a lot more thought into it
Oooh this is a cool concept

I still have some of the old (v2) rulebooks. I love this game so much. Played vtm and met back in the day.
Old school! Love to hear it
I’ve wanted to play this game for a lil but now cause it seems super fun. She’s considered the like go to vampire in the society
perfect timing Josh, i was just making a charater :D
Awesome! Hope it helps!
I’ve been toying around with the idea of creating a Brujah that was turned in the 1920’s
He was a British volunteer soldier who fought alongside the CNT-FAI (the anarchist faction)in the Spanish civil war and was embraced after sustaining a severe wound during the conflict
Thank you for this video! Im gonna be playing my first game soon as a Hecata vampire. A Necromancer type lass. Really excited to try it.
Always did love Clan Tzimisce and using Vicissitude, usually to horrifying effect. There's no horror like body horror.
I recently made a Collage Drop-Out Malkavian for my first character! :D
Thanks Josh I got into vtm recently but couldn't find a good character creation video this helps tremendously.
Glad I could help!
Bless you for filling out the r20 sheet
i'd advice against inverting the colour on Willpower.
Interesting how you and Outstar actually look like vampires 😏
If I get the chance to play V5 I'll probably make some sort of paranoid investigative journalist Malkavian who outwardly presents as a Fishmalk to make others underestimate him.
ooo an interesting line to walk. hope you get to play!
Definitely an interesting idea. Would not mind playing alongside that caretaker ^_^
I'm just getting into VtM... Been DnD for years, but VtM looks very interesting.
This video (pardon the pun) is bloody helpful!!!
You're welcome!
Sabbat clans aren't around. Whomp Whomp. Daddy White Wolf doesn't like Sabbat anymore as playable.
That sounds like a fun character dynamic! Enjoy!
Very interesting but it leads me to many questions!
What are they?
A little helpful extra information. If you order a rule book off of White Wolf's website, you can add on a couple of free copies of the character creation sheets.
Do they send physical character sheets? thats cool!
@@StrangeAdventures Yep. They're right at the bottom of their Vampire section in the store.
They don't sell anything physical through white wolfs website. Everything is digital, unless you're buying something from modiphius or OPP.
Love from a Vaush and new WOD fan!
Wait, one of my friends is actually named Blaine (but with an i) McCoy. That’s craaazyy, WHAT!!!
My concept was for a beautiful female assassin named Morrigan. Probably a Caitiff whose posing as a brujah or a toreador who wants to look after and teach stray childer and possibly climb the kindred society ladder to a powerful position
Sounds fun! Enjoy!
The breakdown of Blane here seems like a variation on EE's character
I had an idea for a Nosferatu Child, cursed with unlife because his mother killed his sire's brother. Scarred by the fact that, upon becoming a vampire, he fed upon his mother until she died in a blind thirst for blood. His sire was executed by the Camarilla for his actions.
The poor child spent the better part of a year locked away in his room at the church of a Nun who was a vampire. He tried to starve himself to final death, but would blackout and awaken surrounded by empty blood packs and dead rats. He finally got over his actions enough to join in vampire society.
Well explained, clear and concise. Well done
The video was a great help!
Using it I made a Mancunian Tremere named De Bouvoir :3
Lives in the cellar of a dilapidated church with their burgeoning library for company, only drinks from the sleeping, indebted and suspected by Tremere at large and they are a Carna adherent to boot; Few friends will they find amongst what remains of Clan Tremere in Europe.
I'm thinking maybe Nosferatu (could be his escape accidentally took him into the Warren, maybe the clan was watching him for some time and had use for him....?)
He would be quite determined to repay Tom the guard that helped him escape, and find whoever it was that framed him.
This is an amazing video. Very helpful and I love the character you built. Thanks so much 😊
Very nice and informative Video thanks! I never really cared that much about V5 but with the book about the hecata i might get into a V5 game finally when i can play my favourite Clan again! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Lol)
Thank you Ash Arts! That’s really helpful! I’ll make a note to discuss these possibilities with the story teller!
@@toniosuchowski4218 you're welcome! Glad I could help. I wish you luck with managing your characters herd! Lol

Thank you!
This is super helpful. I'm sending it to my play group for the campaign I'll be running.
Composure 1. Yup, that sounds like a cop. XD
I recommend 5th edition Vampire because there are lots of people that are looking to play it because it's newer but if it doesn't sound like your kind of system then the other editions aren't worse, just different.
hahahahahha " For Brujah... let me check here, I believe it's ANGRY"!!!

hey uh, could you link where to find that Roll20 character sheet because I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere on the website? Plz help :.)
Yup it's definitely do-able! A large part of Vampire is also defining that character's relationship to NPCs and the other players too
@@StrangeAdventures do you think you could do a walkthrough of how such a build might look; just like you did with this one? I'd love to see that!

Big help thanks
FINALLY getting the group together, now that we are all vaccinated, and this was very helpful! Thnx! Also, Josh is kind of adorable. :)
Hey Josh (Strange Adventures
)
Can you do other character background creations.
Sounds like you've got that one covered haha
I have a question about mechanics doing conflict. It says that you spilt the pool when attacking multiple opponents. But what if you want to attack one, and defend against another, does that mean you use a full dice pool for the attack and then a full dice pool for defense?
Thanks in advance! I appreciate your content!
That's a tricky one. You could do it a few ways. You could split the dice pools for attack and defense, you can do only the attack roll and the other attacker has to roll higher than that to hit, or you could roll both attack and defense. It depends on how much toughness/dice rolling you want in your game. Hope that helps.
@@StrangeAdventures That helps! I will try out all of them to see what fits best :)
Hello! That's me :)
Stupid question, perhaps, but... Can vampires get a second hand blood bond by feeding on another vampire's ghouls?
Blane! LMFAO! The other officers would tease him relentlessly, because of that name. If my name was Blane and I wanted to be a cop I would legally change my name to Hank or Frank.
lol, is it the Chad of police?
Really useful video :)
Thank you so much for making this video! =D
That was a rule from earlier editions of the game. From what I know there's no rule for that in v5 so I'd discuss that with your GM

Graffiti artist turned toreador. In life he snuck around at night tagging walls, underpasses, busses, trucks- and dodging the cops/security soon after on his skateboard. I’m thinking dex, sub, wits and stealth. I don’t know if he’d much of a fighter though.
a cop who is a rujah rebel? interesting
I'm still trying to find someone to play this game!
Good luck!
awesome intro video; what software are you using and is it available online (iOS)?
Did you ever make that relationship map video ?
Oh man I just got called out. Nope 😂
If I ever play a vampire the masquerade, I really like the idea of a vampire doctor. What clans would people recommend
Vampire doctors work really well with the themes of Malkavians and Tremere but really they can be any clan you want :)
Strange Adventures Malk if I’m a psychiatrist and tremere If surgeon
One of my friends once played a Toreador plastic surgeon which was kind of cool.
Plastic Surgeon Nosferatu would be kinda ironic....
Tzimische will be "better" for a surgeon but anything is good with a great explanation
6:00 Just like that one Spongebob episode
Great video. I am starting out as a ST for VtM 5e starting this week. I have sent this video to players as homework. Question - where on the roll20 site can you find that character sheet? I tried the form fillable PDF and didnt like it so I made my own using Google Sheets. I would like to give my players options though. Looking forward to more of your videos!!!
When you start a new game on roll20 it gives you sheet options. You will find it under that drop down menu :)
LOL a cop that abuses family secretly.. Yah, that's not only the vampire ones! 40% of those that work forces are the ones who beat spouses.
