- This video is about the Swedish flag and its forerunners going all the way back to the 12th century. It's largely based on an article by Jesper Wasling, which you can find here: waslingmedia.s... (note that it is in Swedish)
Music: "Concentration" by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)
I thought I had read another theory to the reason there are three crowns; it is due to the three historical peoples/ provinces: the Svea, the Goths, and the Geats.
The blue flag for the fleet was only within skärggårdsflottan while Örlogsflottan used the three tailed Swedish flag.
Call it fate!
"According to early modern legend, the 12th-century King Eric IX saw a golden cross in the sky as he landed in Finland during the First Swedish Crusade in 1157."
Här om dagen såg jag en vit kors av moln i himlen.

They will have to add a crescent soon.
no the three crowns come from a king you know that one king was son to the norwegian king and he become then king of norway but after that the swedish nobles elected him to rule sweden/finland to then he had 2 crowns but the 3 crown he buyed from danmark at the point owned skåne )scania and that was counted as a 3 kingdom and then he had 3 crowns and that is the sory ( im a swede and we learn this in school)
5:01 the dark blue looks better
Do you think you could probably make a video on Kristina of Sweden, if you want? She was the Queen, but her official title was King.
elsa1942 Her official title was Queen.
@@Spindacre She used the title of queen, but she did take the coronation oath as king, or so I read.
Of course she ruled in the manner a King would as she was the Queen, but her "official title" was always Queen.
@@Spindacre yep
Storia della linea gialla dal 1991 al 2001
Just watched the 1912 Olympics and the flag used was reversed any reason why???
The photography used around that time would reverse the shades on the flag, so the dark blue would seem bright and the light yellow would seem dark.
Just a copy of the Danish flag from 1219 🇩🇰
would you mind if i just stay here and be a huge waste of your time?
aha du är svensk
