From 1949 till 1989 Germany should have had two different flags. One for the federal republic of germany and one for the democratic republic of germany. They had different ones
Some of the flags between 1939 and 1945 are wrong. For example, Slovakia had identical flag to today's Russia. Croatia was, at this time, The Independent Croatian State, and they had different from III Reich flag. Also France, the northern part was under german occupation, and southern was a dependent Vichy State.
Yeah there are a bunch of errors, for example the Estonian flag from 1918 to 1940 was the same of the today flag, same for the Lithuanian one. Italy never had the Nazi's flag etc.
I don't like how all flags are the same aspect ratio. I get it's for visual style. But the stretched Vatican City is cursed. The Belgian flag is meant to be almost square. The Swiss flag is valid, but the square flag is the more common one. But what I do like is the consistency of the modern countries. So if countries were merged in the past, they have the same flag in this chart. It doesn't mean they were independent at that time. But it's "Czechia", not just "Czech", just like it's "Germany" and not just "German".
It is so bitter that Abkhazia is showcased as an independent country. It has never been and will never be. Abkhazia is Georgia, and so is Samachablo( not Russia's South Ossetia). 🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪

Nice video, but didn't france change the shade of blue of its flag in 2021?
I was about to say that
Yes, it turn from dark blue to light "european" blue in 70s and back to dark blue in 2021
Switzerland hasn't changed his flag over the last 100 years, that's impressive
Yes... But they like nazi gold from occupied countries.
Like a Türkiye and UK
Montenegro gained independence in 2006 Georgia had this 🇬🇪 in 2004
It was Italy that invaded Albania, not Germany.
But italy was changed flag joined by germany because italy invaded albania
Lithuania left the chat
Edit: and if you did add Abkhazia, why are you didnt add South Ossetia
Help me clean up TH-cam
If you see a bad bad comment
Take a screenshot of it
And send it my way
I guess because no place, there r 5 rows and 10 columns
I think instead of Abkhazia he cud add Kosovo, at least it s recognized by most of Europe

If Albania did not instantly have the italian flag stamped on top during the WW2 phase, why did german collaborator states like Slovakia or Croatia have it?
Additionally, Moldova was under romanian administration during that period, not nazi.
They did, that guy simply messed it up
0:37 Fun fact: Lichtenstein added a crown to the design of the flag because they found out that Haiti's flag was too similar theirs just before the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
You focused so much on the tiny nuances in the Andorran flag but failed so miserably at major changes in the Spanish one...

The current Georgian flag appeared after Saakashvili came to power in 2003-04, and not in the early 90s.

It's not "Czech", it's Czechia. Also, North Macedonia instead of "Northern Macedonia".
Also saying that Georgia’s first flag after soviet breakup in 1991 was a red field with a white and black stripe in corner on top left
A nations flag did not change because of occupation that is not how that works a nation has to officially choose to change it

Italy: NOOOO!!! NOT MY FRIEND!!!
And Moldova wasn't occupied by the Nazis but were occupied were the Romanians during Barbarossa
Serbia also had a different flag, the Puppet State was called “Government of National Salvation”
Serbia and Montenegro wasn't fully independent until 2006

I don't like how all flags are the same aspect ratio. I get it's for visual style. But the stretched Vatican City is cursed. The Belgian flag is meant to be almost square. The Swiss flag is valid, but the square flag is the more common one.
But what I do like is the consistency of the modern countries. So if countries were merged in the past, they have the same flag in this chart. It doesn't mean they were independent at that time. But it's "Czechia", not just "Czech", just like it's "Germany" and not just "German".
