This year I went a way bit overboard and used the credit card, but hey, I bought about 11 Kontakt libraries for $1,200.00. If I bought those same libraries during the year I would of spent around $5,000.00. Just keep an eye out for sales and free stuff. I too am learning as well. TH-cam helps and so does Alex.

I got omnisphere , metropolis ark , etc from vsttorrent.net or if the site doesn't work just type on Google vsttorrents. There you can find really anything , from ozone 9 to drum kits. For practicing is really good. I know, it is stealing ! I don't wanna find any excuse for it. But just in case, you want to grab those , type on Google vsttorrents :)

This is AMAZING!! Thank you so much for the most productive 5 minutes I have seen on a tutorial about composition! ... that little ta ta ta- ta taan introducing the melody and at the end is a freaking touche in production!! Well done man!!
One thing I will suggest is for your longer videos. Leave time stamps in the comments for the different things you talk about in the video. That way people won’t have to listen to every single thing (if they don’t want to) and can jump atraight to the part where you are giving them the relevant info they need.
I do that when I remember it, but there's so many videos where I didn't! Would need to have someone to go through all the videos and add the timestamps.
I actually enjoy short videos that are sharp on topic. The longer the video the higher the chances of not finding what you need in there, digressing etc What we might need is organized playlists that cover a full topic with a number of short videos though.
LOVE your tutorials!! Oh, they are 16th notes (4 subdivisions of a quarter note) as opposed to 1/12. The phasing issues you talked about (and winced a few times), to be honest, I assumed they were mod wheel adjustments

I wouldn't worry about having too many violins, 4:23 there's on average 30 in an orchestra, sometimes more. Even if the staccato is played on a section of many notes, it's usually not a problem, even if composing for a real orchestra
The problem are the sections. You have in total 30, but they are split in only two sections and you're going to have a hard time writing the partition if you have more than 2 string sections. Besides that, if you use pre-orchestrated libraries like here, you will end up with a completely different sound that what you would have with an actual orchestra. You should definitely worry about having too much.

Man, how do you make that sound so big! Even when you just do the Violin track on it's own it sounds so big! Is it just center track with reverb? I agree. I'm trying on FL mobile to make an orchestral intro like DUH-duh-duh x2. How do you make it work on FL mobile? I'm asking because with FL mobile, I'm limited with the range of instruments I can use. Using awesome orchestral instruments is good, but I feel the most euphoria when the section/song works. Same as what you said in the intro lol!!
The busier part your writing at about 2:50 would more than likely be played by the same instrumentalist that's playing the higher note above it, so not sure how correct it is to think of it as a 2nd distinct part. Also, what are 12th notes? 3:20

Hey Aleks, can you tell me when you use spiccatos and when staccatos, they are different but can achieve similar purposes, just curious about how and when you apply them
I'm tempted to buy Ark 1, but I was looking for a simple example of a simple violin or viola spicatto ostinato using it that sounds clear and natural and realistic. One thing I thought when you gave the example of "complete garbage" was, from what little I heard, that the rhythm itself sounded less realistic and a bit less rhythmically accurate (even though it should have just been a simpler rhythm - even though I understand now that it was Ark 1 and apparently the same string patches you mentioned. So can Ark 1 do simple fast ostinatos like that (even if the patterns are garbage) that still sounds like the players are organically playing their instruments keeping a fast beat? Or is the structuring, layered voicings, accents and so on also serving to camouflage the unnatural way that samples don't quite measure up to a real performance?
Pretty decent video. One thing I will say however is that you really should touch upon rules for quartal/quintal harmony when discussing strings! Avoid parallel 8ths, 5tjs and 4ths etc, try to make each string part have its own melody line yknow...

some self-notes:
1. accent on double bass + cello
2. accent on violin (syncopation)
3. harmonization on viola (middle part)
4. subdivision
5. melody
6. variation
It actually did wonders. I had a spiccato with what I thought to be a cool melody, but it just sounded so thin. Now I understand what to do
Someday I will actually start to make orchestral music and use all these things, haha. Until that day I'll just enjoy your creativity and knowledge :)

What libraries you’d use if you were writing something that is classical but not necessarily epic? For example for a romantic or classical era piece
Probably EastWest Hollywood Orchestra, which is very cheap thanks to ComposerCloud
