_"What is the answer?"_ I'd pick the Sofirn SD06, hands down. The DL02's smooth and curvy tube design looks a bit dated and reminds me of the TS25 quad emitter that Wurkkos introduced two years ago. Not fan of that rotary switch design that looks like it came from a 1950s kitchen appliance either. 😀 I noticed two common things with Sofirn and Wurkkos dive lights. Firstly, they both have very subtle cooling fins and external knurling appointments. They're designed to be used while submerged and water cools the light much better than air. Secondly, dive lights tend to be the throwy kind and not floody. I'm guessing that in the sea or lakes that have a high content of floating pollutants, a floodlight would result in so much back scatter that it would be simply blinding to the diver, so a throwy pencil beam would be preferable. 🔦🔆 What is interesting is that, in your beam test both torches' stepdown isn't so dramatic like some high powered Sofirn/Wurkkos EDCs like the SC33. Is it possible that the designers allowed these dive lights to run as hot as they can (upping the thermal limit) compared to EDC lights since they are expected to be used in water, where the heat dissipation is much better than on land? 🤔 Good video as usual, mate. I hope you'll consider pitting these two against the Wurkkos TD01, Sofirn C8G and Convoy L21A plus any of your present throwers in the future. 😀
@@DarrenYeoYT Crikey, that's fantastic, mate! There's nothing quite like a flashlight beam shot fest from your own collection of hundreds of torches! You could use an assistant on your nightly outings though. Someone to lug all those torches and operate a flying drone for wide angle, treetop level camera angles! ☺📷
In person you might not be able to tell, but the warmer DL02 is noticeably brighter than the SD06 from the get go and maintains it's brightness while the SD06 noticeably dims as they heat up. The fins on the DL02 should contribute greatly to that stepdown reduction. In water neither will likely step down but the DL02 is still brighter.
Damn it one last question I just seen in your more when you click on more the information about the video you have codes for lights is that only available in your country and I apologize I don't mean to keep asking your questions and blowing I mean asking you questions and blowing up your comments but this is something that I was starting to do a while ago but it ended up being EDC items like knives outdoor gear Firearms air guns I've always wanted to collect lights I just didn't have the money back then because the technology when I wanted to do it the power you're getting out of these budget lights now or even reasonably priced Lights under $100 were three times that price or more than anyway let me know apologies that's it for me bud I'm so sorry I subscribed liked and clicked the Bell I want to start collecting lights slowly but surely just need something reliable and powerful and durable for now
Hi Joey, the codes work for anyone, but some of them may be expired depending on how long the video was made. I do have a spreadsheet of recommended lights and vouchers if you wanna check it out: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/15CgzoZD2X7lPhRpYQeR1tFws3DbI1Lmn4AUzIfOpzMo/htmlview
Hi Darren what is the main differences between sofirn SD06 and sofirn SD05 ? like if you can give example of the run time and beam throw power? thanks
I don't have the SD05 sorry. You can find the specifications on the Wurkkos website though

I'll try make an "ultimate thrower" comparison video at some stage :D it's hard to carry them all around at once though 😅

I won't get either i don't dive!! Are you getting the new Wurkkos HD50 headlamp? 4000 lumen with a red led.
I have reviewed that HD50 already! It's on my channel.
@@DarrenYeoYT I'll take a look!
Overall, which one better?
Similar performance, I prefer the DL02 - has one step access to the highest mode.

Thanks for sharing man, I didn't see a huge difference but with a light metre you could probably get more accurate readings. Useful to know.
I don't like the handle on the 02 but i love the fact it's 5000k way better than 6500k.
Yeah, weird that they didn't add any knurling at all!
